    Hi Nigel, I was there for full extraction on 17th May till the 24th. I must say I have to echo your experience was near identical to mine. My operation was 4 hours and was able to speak fully within 2 hours. The staff was great and did not have the waiting about you had experience nor experienced delays returning to Hotel SU during the week. I enjoyed my mini bus rides with other patients (I was the sole American; everyone was English or Scots) and generally swapped stories and everyone was very pleasant. I'll be back on 21st November for my implants to be screwed in. The total bill (May and November) is 13,000 US a far cry from what my Manhattan dentist quoted me (80,000 US!) so no more US Dentists for me. You look good man! OH Btw, I am 51 and an ex pipe smoker hence the full extractions.

      Thanks for sharing Yahya! It’s wonderful how everyone bonds on the bus and in the hotel isn’t it? Looks like I was just really unlucky with the waiting, frustrating at the time but certainly hasn’t taken away from the experience. I’ll be back October for my implants, but 10 weeks on I’ve been very happy with this temporary set - thanks for the compliment. Stay safe, and good luck with the rest of your treatment.

Anyways I can not wait for my treatment. We booked hotel ourselves and got discount for not using theirs which actually coming up cheaper. Our 5 star all inclusive costs 900 for fsmily of 4 for 12 night. Got 600 quid discount so nobrainer. May I ask how long does healing take for that ,ghost' teeth removal?

      Hiya - apologies fore not replying sooner. Thanks for your comments - nice work on the discounts!
      Regarding the ghost tooth, I don't really remember to be honest - I mean that positively in the fact that there was very little healing. Because I had the temporary crowns fitted over the place where the tooth was removed, it was completely covered so could just heal on its own. I had some stitches which probably fell out after around 10-14 days. But for clarity - no pain or discomfort!

Only thing I can say is I met a couple of people in my hotel who were having theirs paid for by the clinic. They were treated exactly the same as me. Hi. 3 visits, first one was for extractions, shaping teeth for crowns and root canals, 2nd visit will be fitting of 13 implants, finally 3rd visit will be fitting of 23 zirconium crowns. Between the first and third visits, I’ll have temporary teeth like you see in the video, they’re basically like dentures fitted over my remaining teeth. All in all, over the 3 visits it’s costing about £11.5k.

    • @nigel158b
      @nigel158b  2 года назад +2

      Hi Gary. Yeah, £12k to the clinic then flights on top. I'm not getting free hotel for the 3rd visit though so a few hundred more on top too. 1st trip was £1.7k for the extractions, root canals and temporary crowns - i spent no more than around £100 for the week on drinks and eating out a couple of times. Visit 2 October-ish all being well will be the fitting of 13 implants and a few more little bits like sinus lift etc. Thats £5.9k with the 10% discount for cash. Final visit just under £4k after discount to have 23 zirconium crowns fitted. I'm a snob so travelled Turkish business class which was £750 return from LGW, but you can get easyjet etc for around £150 return - obviously a little more during peak holidays etc.

      Hi @balu187 - thanks for your comments!
      Its only natural you are nervous, its a big thing you are doing. They have done it thousands of times, but for you its the first time - understandable completely. I can assure you though, the moment you walk into the clinic you will feel confident you have chosen the right place to get the work done.
      My work I had done is not that dissimilar to All-on-4. I had all but 2 of my teeth removed and a total of 13 implants fitted. Sinus lift, and root canals on the remaining teeth. It took a total of 3 visits for me over 12 months. For the first 6 months I had temporary crowns on both jaws - they were great! I could eat anything i wanted and they looked great. 2nd 6 months not so good - I had to have a denture for the top jaw as they needed to remove more teeth than planned so they could fit the implants correctly. They looked fine and I soon got used to it - but eating wasn't as great. Soft foods only - soup/pasta etc.
      But now, 7 months on, I couldn't be happier. Had absolutely no problems at all so far.

    • @nigel158b
      @nigel158b  2 года назад +3

      Hi, thanks, glad it was helpful.
      This first visit cost me around £1,800. That covered extractions, root canal treatments and the temporary teeth I have now. The temporaries are basically two dentures made of a metal base covered in ceramic. I’ve got these for 6 months.
      Visit 2 will be £6 to £7k, that will be 13 x implants and some bone graft and sinus lift work.
      Visit 3, 6 months after the implants will be the final visit when I’ll have 24 zirconium crowns/bridges fitted, that will be £4 - £5k. Hopefully then I’m done!
      So, I’m paying the higher end of prices for sure, but that’s due to being a smoker for 35 years and having really inferior jaw bones. If I just had crowns fitted to my remaining teeth, it’s highly likely it would be a waste of money as my teeth were starting to fall out due to my crap jaws. This treatment is giving me a much better long term solution given the implants have a lifetime guarantee.

      Hi Richard. To be honest, I'm not that sure on this one. Before you leave you are given an information pack, in that it tells you what to do in case of any issues. The first thing is to contact them via whatsapp and discuss the issue, I remember reading some bits that on the work that is guaranteed, such as implants, they may authorise you to use a dentist at home and they cover reasonable costs. You get free check ups - but thats only if you just so happen to be in Antalya, they won't transport you over for that. I didn't hear of anyone having issues while I was there, they ensure they do the work early enough in the week so you can go back in for a final check the day before you fly home. They are very diligent - I think I mention in the video that my dentist wouldn't let me go back to the hotel until they were happy - that's reassuring I think. They will stay there until very late into the night until it's all good - someone in my hotel was there till almost midnight I think until the clinic was 100% happy.

My own dentist doesn't have a 3d x-ray machine. I get the feeling if I ask my dentist to get a mate of his to do it, then I'm going to get asked why? Im pretty sure he's not a fan of dentistry abroad.

    • @nigel158b

      Good question. I'd probably just phone around all the private dentists in my area, it's easy money for them I would have thought. Or, at the very extreme - a clinic around Harley St London would certainly do it for the right price! Probably avoid NHS ones if you even have any near you.
      But, I don't know. It's not vital to getting the work done at Attelia, but at least you won't have any surprises when you get there I Guess.

    Hi Nigel
    Im going to Attelia tomorrow. Just wondered what is involved in the sinus lift and bone graft as I'm having that procedure. Is it painful. Thanks Mick

      Hi Mick.
      Painful, no - absolutely not. Uncomfortable- yes, very much so. It’s pretty awful lying there having the feeling of someone with a hammer and chisel bashing the top of your mouth! It’s ever so weird. But I had absolutely no pain during or after it.
      The hardest bit of it is not being able to blow your nose, or sneeze through the nose for a little while.
      All the best for your visit, hope all goes well.

      Hi Donna. No, not yet. I’m back there 7th November for 13 x implants, then will have to go back again 6 months after that.

      As I said in the video, my bone was too low for them to be able to do the implants on the first visit. Hopefully 7 months on the work will go ahead. This is the worst extreme, very few need 3 visits.
