Irondequoit Bay Seasonal Outlet Bridge

The Irondequoit Bay Seasonal Outlet Bridge was galvanized in 1997 and provides a transportation outlet to the people of the area. The bridge is swung open every Spring to provide boaters access between the Bay and Lake Ontario, and is closed in the fall to provide car traffic access to the local road. Hot-dip galvanizing was specified because of its superior corrosion protection benefits, as well as the its competitive cost for both initial and long-term investments.
