Here's a clue from an Israeli Jew who made Aliyah in 2012 from southern California so you get a brief picture of the demographic behind this comment. I feel strongly that if JBS is to grow, make sure to avoid just being an echo chamber for liberal American Jewish ears and voices. Certainly, I get it that the reform community is a core audience of JBS. However, a core value, as you are well aware, of Judaism, Jewish thinking and lifestyles is the notion of tolerance and a willingness to listen and learn from divergent sources, especially but by no means exclusively across the Jewish spectrum of opinion and culture BOTH in the diaspora AND Eretz Israel. Airing respectful conversations that come from sources outside of American liberal Judaism to include ideas, opinions and yes, facts not understood by your core audience can only further inform, strengthen and arm Jews to both support and advocate for NOT JUST the Jewish State and Israeli Jews who absolutely need your effective ability to communicate our situation during this unprecedented critical time BUT ALSO help English-knowledgeable Israeli Jews in Israel (and in big enclaves abroad like Los Angeles) appreciate and understand the challenges for Jews of the diaspora, especially in navigating through a world with so much Jew hatred and intolerance. Finally, let me say this: ONLY JBS has the power, unlike more conservative Jewish media outlets, to remind misguided Jews that woke is antithetical to authentic Jewish values where good and evil, right and wrong are taught and learned. In this as metaphor, JBS would be the equivalent of the idea that only Nixon (and Kissinger, the Jew) could have first gone to China. Thank you for your work.
