Some metal sludge is ok but any metal filings or chips you have differential problems. 8 : 11 Also use a proper 13mm square end bit for those Subaru fill and drain plugs. I had to special order mine from Total Tools here in Aus. Using the ratchet head square dimension is smaller and a sloppy fit and technically not right.
Thank you so much! Iv been looking all over for a video of someone changing the 5mt frontdiff/trans oil. Could only find the 6mt STI. Do you have the part numbers for the gaskets by chance?
Dillon Miller I’m happy I could help :) I don’t have the part numbers anymore but all I did was order from my local Dick Hannah Subaru and they got me the correct gaskets/crush washers for my car. You could also call any subaru dealership and they should be able to get the part number. :)
Good video thanks. Doing this on my 2014 WRX soon.
Appreciate it man 💪🏼
The highlight of this video was seeing Jared talking to Jared. 😂
Need more of that please. Lol
Ivan Gromov I’m glad you liked it 😂 It’s not the best job but it’s my first time trying it 👌🏼😆
Thanks for this guys! And metal on the magnet plug is normal for trans and diffs for those who are worried.
You are welcome my good sir 😃

My chance don’t know much you put in the trans like 3 or 3.5 quarts?
How much did the front differential take 2 quarts ???
How long it take you to do all of it
How’s the transmission holding up now? And about how many qts does the rear diff take?
1 qt
The transmission is doing great, shifts smoothly and drives good. The rear diff takes about .08 - 1 Qt
