They say it is composed in the "God key" a high octave "C"...someone get those young chaps from the choir group Libera, to do a cantata of this. I know it would be absolutely amazing!
It also leads the ear to sound like it wants to change keys to A minor which is the relative minor to C major but it never does. I only know this because my bachelors is in music education. They weren’t using tonality like that yet in music is the 1500s. I had barely heard this song a couple of weeks ago at the age of 35 and now I’m ready to convert!

Tolkien wrote that the in-universe god of Middle Earth (Eru Ilúvatar) created the universe through music, the Song of the Ainur or Ainulindalë. I have always wondered where did Tolkien get this concept that God's Word, his very speech, could actually be a song that is literal music to our ears. Adam heard the spirit of god walking through the garden in the cool of the afternoon right after he and Eve at the forbidden fruit. I have always wondered what exactly did he hear? You don't exactly hear footsteps on grass. I imagine when god is near you hear his music, and when he speaks it's as if it is a song.
