4:15 true! the last time Em came close to rapping like this was "No Regrets" and its one of my favourite recent songs. when he gets introspective through his storytelling lyrics! you can maybe revisit it for this series, idk, i feel like thats a really slept on song.
whats crazy bout this video is that Proof portrays Bugz who died from a shooting, then during the part where it shows the Runyon Ave crew that Denaun aka Mr. Porter is front and center, who would be Em's hype man and next in line in which he hangs out and spends alota time with
Definitely agree that this era was when Em was at his best. Till I Collapse is to this day one of the most hype songs ever made. Shame that the only music video for it is the Real Steel fan video lol.
IT"s just so crazy learning the history and the behind-the-scenes about this stuff. I talked to an old guy years ago who argued that rappers looked stupid, with their baggy pants and sideways hats, and I remember telling him "a lot of rap tells a deep story" and he looks at me and goes "WHAT story??" It's just so sad a lot of people never know about this side of the microphone.
This song not only being one of my top favorite Eminem tracks but will forever still hold up for its powerful message, relevancy, even a real tearjerker that hits. 🤍 RIP to Big Proof 🙏💜
Crypt, you absolutely need to check out more Big L. Super underrated rapper. All Black, Lifestylez ov the Poor and Dangerous and Danger Zone are some of my personal favourites. He's a king of punchlines.
Theres also the clip of Tony Yayo telling the story of Suge Knight showing up to the In Da Club video shoot, and Proof stepping up to him saying you killed Tupac

Dooin uploading!
As a kid I loved this video, as an adult ? I just wanna cry man, this video predicted proof's fate 😭
There’s people who seem to forget that Proof is playing as Bugz who was an early member of D12 who was shot and killed in broad daylight.
I saw the thumbnail and thought Eminem died bro wtf 💀
My braincell exactly😢
Same man lol
That's what I thought to 😢
Same

I think the acting in this music video specifically was good because it felt real to Em. He wasn’t acting, he was reliving memories
I absolutely love this track, it’s seriously one of the best he’s ever done like you said :)

I'm still blown away that it took 20 years for Smack You to come out. so many people had to know those bars existed.
This song not only being one of my top favorite Eminem tracks but will forever still hold up for its powerful message, relevancy, even a real tearjerker that hits. 🤍
RIP to Big Proof 🙏💜

I wish Em was still this amazing at making sad tracks
I really wish Smack You was actually released back then. I doubt anyone would have been killed, except lyrically.
This thumbnail is a trip. I thought Em checked out ☠️
I'd like to see you react to 'difficult' since you did this one. So strong with the emotions
Don't know if you know who seckond chaynce is but he's a marvelous multi genre artist. Start off with his song undeniable
