Bad news: I don't need another bundle. I have the Typhon for pets/torps/energy weapons, and a Trailblazer for sci -- both of which also make great tanks if I want them to. I'm 100% happy with those 😉 If they care about the future of the game and new players, the anniversary event should offer a choice between one premium ship or two zen store T6 tokens. Bundles-wise, if they want to sell me a bundle or a ship, give me a Fire at Will extender AND buff. I want 100% uptime and 5% bonus damage if... if whatever. If something. If anything. If I shake my ship's bootay just before clicking. Whatever. Just gimme that FaW trait, bebe! I'll buy your stinkin' ship 😉
Keeping with the Borg theme for bundles; they should do a sector 001 bundle. I know they don't do "Legendary" ships anymore, but they could do a 'High-End" version... H.E. Steamrunner H.E. Norway H.E. Sabre H.E. Nova H.E. Prometheus I know that the Nova and Prometheus weren't technically at Sector 001, but they were current around that time.
Mudds Bundles are such a sad story. There are a lot of ships in it, which I would like to have, simply because I am a fan of them from the shows but coming up with a lot of money for space barbie or even a theme build is a lot to ask. So I am caught between the almost sacred 10th, a lot of nice to have but hard to chew mudds bundles or the promise of a nice 15th bundle. In the end it is as it always has been: It doesn't matter which bundle you buy, the important thing is that you put in the Zen.
I'm not too worried because a year or two ago Star Wars The Old Republic ended up with new management and they made some great changes to the combat system. For example, they made the possible class and faction builds a little more varied, viable and specialized. If something like this happens I would some of the changes Cryptic made that make builds and factions less meaningful could be reworked.
if you have LIFETIME you should have access to these BUNDLES all year round and the mudd vendor should be on the lifetime space station EDIT: i have said this for the last 10 yrs, cryptic has missed such an incredible opportunity by not having special offers for lifetime members on the lifetime space station. And having those bundles be available more often for lifetime members would have not only increased the bundles sales but the lifetimes sales. I know for myself when i played and spent a lot of money in the game that very often cryptic had sales when i was just too busy with work or family and they lost my money because of that.
A lot of free-to-play types will take issue with your ideas but I (as a non-lifetime sub) think it's perfectly fine to further incentivise the LTS by giving you guys exclusive offers and perks. It's like that on Neverwinter. You buy a month of VIP and you get even more perks the second month, third month, etc, until at rank 12 (12 months of VIP) you have all the perks PLUS 25% discount in the game's main non-zen store. On Neverwinter, I cannot live without VIP as the perks are so useful (imagine on STO if you could transport to any other part of the game from wherever you currently stand, or use the bank, etc). On STO, I've never ever been tempted by LTS. I love the look of the ship! And 6000 zen per year is nice -- but worth paying real money for? THAT MUCH money? No. Never. So what you describe in your comment is pretty much how it is for Neverwinter players, except it's paid monthly and not in one huge sum. They should do THAT for STO, and for Neverwinter, allow lockbox keys to be sold to other players (currently all lockbox keys are accountbound). Our work here is done 😎 Deca, make it sooooo.
5:07 I had honestly thought that they got rid of all the bot farms. Seriously if the backlog is getting that large, it might be in everyone’s best interest for Decades to combat Dil farming somehow.
Just remove the Dil exchange and replace it with a fixed amount for dil to zen, no cap on amount. The game will always have bots, that is unavoidable but it shouldn't have to be shit for the other 99% of players because of it.
Throw in an escort or battlecruiser intrepid class and it's a good time. Perhaps a new mirror or other alternative reality intrepid and a Legendary Nebula class
Ignoring new ships (which is not content) this game has been in quasi-maintenance mode for many years, IMO. New content just dribbles out at a glacial speed. And that new content can be done in an hour or two. Adding the Romulans was the biggest content drop they did. And that was 11 years ago! Everything else since then has been crumbs in comparison.
the worst about new content is its even so long because of artifical annoying mechanics that prevent you to want to repeat it, like non skippeble dialoges/scenes, timers in tfos with infinite respawn ect. its just annoying to play, reason why old borg tfo and similar are most popular.
@Searly255 they removed the foundry because it was too much hassle to update and/or the guy who took care of it left and no one else knew how to do it.
Couldn't agree more! I've been saying this for a long time and all I get for pointing it out is people howling about how they're doing so much work on the game (especially on reddit), even had people show me lists! Look at the list though and it's pathetic, an amount of work that most gaming dev teams do far more rapidly with higher quality. Most patches are to fix bugs created with the last new ship, console, or some graphical glitch that has been around for ages. It's really quite insulting, so I can't wait for DECA to fix the mess. A game needs to evolve greatly over 14 years, but at the end of the day, STO is still a game from the 2010s at best.
Story missions take literally months of work to make for any game, STO included. Read any developer interview and they’ll say that. The STO devs said that in order to put out Victory is Life they had to crunch every day and work weekends for months leading up to its release and they didn’t want to put themselves through that stress and unhealthiness again, which is why they switched to the “story missions and TFO every couple of months” model, it was the best balance of their time vs income, as each release sees a spike in players returning.
I don't think they would eveb buy cryptic if they weren't interested in continuing the games. The way I see it, their intention is either to keep them going as a "business as usual" model... Or they think they have better ideas of what do do with them than Cryptic did. Like their own ideas for content or maybe ideas about reworking current systems. STO was originally a very fan oriented game. Then it just became a way for CBS/Paramount to push their NuTrek universe on people.
Question: How were the Experimental Weapons tested? Were they tested on full Phaser/Plasma builds or were they tested just on their own? And would the Plasma Incindiary Bombard do better than the Hexacannons on a Plasma build and vice versa?
I've run both on my CPF build, and Bombard simply isn't in the same ballpark. On my 1.5m-1.7m pug runs, Hexas run 140k-170k, sometimes even up to 200k. Bombard struggles to break 100k. Hexas are just that good.
I haven't heard about anything they are doing or not doing, but the fact that new people have the game would definitely suggest they plan on keeping it going for a while. Now I'm really glad I picked up the Achilles the other day. I thought the hexa would be fun, but I had no idea how powerful it is. I'm not sure what ships I'd like to see. I never played any other games besides Encounterscon PS2 🤔
I would say in ranking after the Gorn weapon comes the Inertial Polaron Shunt on Polaron builds, especially on builds that get it to most haste. It can do a lot of damage in this scenario. Thanks for the video!
Talking head always reminds me of Futurama. Nice Q&A, glad the Deca vid had some impact for you. I do hope that, going forward, they a similar style of marketing for each bundle as they did for the Heritage bundle. I was laughing at the code breakers and those focusing on the UI shown in the social media drops, they were going nuts trying to work it out. A simple teaser trailer followed by a full "advert" and then the blog dropping a few days before would be great. Ironically the ad on this vid dropped about 2 mins before your question on ads, it would have been comical had it dropped right before :D When it comes to the 15th Anniversary, it's hard to think what older ships would be a good addition to the game. There are a lot to choose from when you look back at Star Trek Starfleet command games (no not the toxic one on mobile) Away Team etc. Will be interesting to see what they do.
I am also not worried about this game. In fact quite the opposite, I'm looking forward to seeing how the game changes under new management. Hopefully for the better, 2025 will show the signs of change. But major gripes exist and will likely continue to exist - lockboxes and gambling are a curse on gaming, but they will continue no matter who takes over the studio.
I'm in full agreement. We might be wrong and the game might fall apart and die. But I don't see why it would. There's even a fair chance things will improve. New decision makers. New priorities. A smaller, more focused team. The only negative I foresee is that the AD-zen exchange is going to get worse and worse and eventually end up like it is on Neverwinter -- with a year-long wait for your deal to go through and a huge flip of the bird to any new players who stumble in drunk.
Depends on what governments do -- the E.U. (dozens of countries) are beginning to regulate gaming. Lootboxes and gambling more broadly are on the chopping block.
only experimental weapons I have: voice of the prophets: from the bajoran interceptor flak cannon: from Rep set ( surprisingly is better than I thought) the repulser: from the temer class quantum launcher: the the adamant class Rail Gun: from teh hathran polaron shunt: from the rex Class

@@matthewdoyle3628 I farmed last year very hard. But I managed to farm for 2 bundles. This year since the rise again I almost stopped even playing the game just bcz of the Dil ex issue. and as I see many others did. Some prices get ridiculously low since nobody is buying anything. I work on Ex every day with 10 chars having full 40 items always for sell. That's 400 total per day. From last year selling something dropped 80%. Not just for me but everybody else who deals with Exchange.
Well the good news is that anyone with excess dil can make a lot of EC in the Isomag market. Buy a mark II ultra rare for almost nothing, turn it into one of the more popular flavours (phaser is the jackpot of course). Upgrade using phoenix tokens and if you're lucky it'll go epic on the way to Mk XV. Then sell for a huge profit. I haven't done it recently but when I was doing it, I was turning 100k isomag trash into 25 million, several times a week. Enough to make some good EC but not so much as to destroy the market. Disruptor and plasma also sold but for less. But I was rerolling to those flavours more than phaser and selling for about 10mil each -- which is still decent. And sometimes the those rerolls came in one or two spins, so 100k EC + 800 dil = 10 mil EC. Decent return! Even got a phaser on the first roll once. Cha-ching! Don't be greedy though. Flood the market and you just bring the prices down for yourself and everyone else. Be cool and we all make a lot of spacebucks. In order to protect that market, I will be deleting this comment in 12 hours.
@@ryananon779 dude those re rolls are not worth bothering. Sometimes you need 50k Dil for just one flavor you wanted. I tried that road and abandon it qucikly
@@outlawedTV88 Admittedly, I was fortunate in that I have about 30 characters, all with varied builds. So any tetryon ones that came up, I'd just send to my tet characters. Same with any of the others. Polaron, AP, etc. So I was rolling for phaser but still making use of basically any energy modifier. Some of my builds even use a turn-rate isomag. But don't worry about my questionable builds. That's not the point. The point is, while supplying my personal fleet with whatever flavour isomags they needed, I'd pick up phaser ones along the way and make good EC from them. I would buy ten MkII ultra rares and roll them all one after the other. Just one roll each. If you get [transphasic] or some other useless thing, just leave it and move onto the next one. Out of that ten, you WILL get one that's vaguely useful. Then roll the nine. Etc. Then when I had only a couple left, I'd buy eight more and go again. If you do as you suggest, and just reroll one isomag over and over until you get phaser, yes, that's going to be super expensive. I wouldn't do that. That's the Casual SAD way and you can only do that if you're far, far wealthier ingame than I am haha.
That's what YOU need. The majority of the playerbase are Fed only types. I was that way too for a while. Klingons? Romulans? Pah! Zero interest from me. I did eventually come around though and now most of my characters are capable of marauding 😉 But there are a LOT of people who are understandably only interested in Starfleet. So as the game's developer trying to make money, who are you going to cater towards? The 85% which also includes most whales -- or the WolfPucks of this world? Bad news I'm afraid 😬
@@ryananon779 We just got some non fed ships with the dyson bundle. While I agree that most people play exclusively fed, and most of the ships they make should cater to that group, there are clearly enough of us that don't for them to make ships for. The last two legendary bundles had a fed ship and a romulan and klingon ship in respectively. If deca want to carry on doing that, I'm all for it.
They already have most of the LD ships in the lockbox. On that topic I STILL think it should be illegal for any game not rated only for adults to have a fucking gambling mechanic. It’s just pure degenerate stupidity that kids are being exposed to and it needs to STOP. The only gambling that should be in STO is Dabo, and that’s only because it uses EC and not real money.
i waited almost 2 months when the DilEx was about 5 mil backlog, NO way its only 2 months with 13mil backlog as of today... nope, bet its gonna be alot longer sadly, tho i wish im wrong ofc, thats for sure -.-
For someone that does not have the D7, do you still recommend the disco bundle? Is the starship trait still part of the multi-target meta, or do you find that it is starting to fall off?
I wonder if the next episode content will be canceled and used as a tax write off in the way movies that don't get released are a tax write off. If so it's permanent maintenance mode and nothing but recycled content at best. A community manager speaking up would be a good thing financially for deca at this time since holiday sales are probably tanking due to this.
I played this game some years ago , I returned recently only to find the same complaints from existing players who have been playing for years.. Not enough players in general, not enough players in pvp. For a new player Ec doesnt fall out of star ships, and the exchange is filled with profit hunters, I'm taking about regular in game items, I know some are rarer drops than others but still, it's something older players dont even need, if you've been playing for years I'm sure you dont need EC I play on xbox , I'm only going to give one example, which is the worst I've seen , A item you can receive from the recruitment event , exocomm duty officer 250000000 Ec , yes I can wait for the event, but as a new player i didnt even know this dropped from a event called the recruitment event... I have decent traits on my ship but I spent real money, And got lucky with some in game items . Nobody wants to sit there grinding patrols all week and running to the exchange all the time in hope of getting lucky , with rarer in game item drops . Even the developers give away free stuff such as ships , but the player re-pricing stuff into a three day patrol marathon for EC, is kind of lame ... Older players complaining about content , one newer player complaining about the exchange and the mindset of older players (older as in played for over a year) ...
Even with all the clear evidence DECA is actively looking to develop STO, the dilex and appalling server performance, makes me doubt a little. Last night i was doing nothing but refining dilithium and the game lagged and kick me out. I know is not my ISP because EVE runs like a dream by comparison. Hurry up DECA, at least tweet something.
I see little to be encouraged that deca will be doing anything but maintenance mode and kicking out c store ships. Unless you care to elaborate why you feel so confident that things will be better, but I don't see it. The slow content drip we got from cryptic is really sad as it is.
The biggest hint for me that Deca want STO to carry on full throttle is that: they arrived, they got here, they took over, and their first thought was "The ESD map looks trash. Let's make it awesome again!" Who tf does that if they're planning maintenance mode? And if the new ESD was all Cryptic's work, then (1) okay I'll reassess as time goes by, but (2) why not scrap that idea if your plan is maintenance mode? Scrap it, put your programmers to other work. More profitable work. Yet that new ESD is happening. They decided that. And to me, that's positive.
Too much investment for a niche game. All assets would have to be completely rebuilt. Also DECA isn't a traditional developer making original games, but a "games keeper" keeping older games running.
Time will tell about maintenance mode but as stated earlier it kinda feels that way already. I love star trek and will play but it is very stagnant. Spencer i would love for you to do some WOW legends content it is a new game taking up the majority of my playtime now. I believe you would do quite well in that community. As always great work Spencer and thanks
Maybe we should go on a campaign to get Elon to buy the license after he's done with DOGE. Get us that "eccentric trillionaire" investment money into these servers lol

Hey what about the soliton wave impeller? I tested it between that and the gol resonator and it edges it out in my opinion. Thanks
Not in the same ballpark as the Bombard, and not even in the same league as the Hexas.
What we need are more non federation ships aka romulan, klingon, ect ect
That's what YOU need. The majority of the playerbase are Fed only types. I was that way too for a while. Klingons? Romulans? Pah! Zero interest from me. I did eventually come around though and now most of my characters are capable of marauding 😉 But there are a LOT of people who are understandably only interested in Starfleet. So as the game's developer trying to make money, who are you going to cater towards? The 85% which also includes most whales -- or the WolfPucks of this world?
Bad news I'm afraid 😬
@ryananon779 fine then whatever I'll just quit playing ty
@@ryananon779 We just got some non fed ships with the dyson bundle. While I agree that most people play exclusively fed, and most of the ships they make should cater to that group, there are clearly enough of us that don't for them to make ships for. The last two legendary bundles had a fed ship and a romulan and klingon ship in respectively. If deca want to carry on doing that, I'm all for it.
@@wolfpuck5845 That is easily the most reactionary response I've ever received on the internet.
Good luck in your future endeavours, quitter.
YES!
Maybe as a solution to the ads, you could play inaudible white noise over your track.
Would be nice if they did a bundle of lower decks ships as that series is coming to an end, for the 15th mirror warships would be great
They already have most of the LD ships in the lockbox.
On that topic I STILL think it should be illegal for any game not rated only for adults to have a fucking gambling mechanic. It’s just pure degenerate stupidity that kids are being exposed to and it needs to STOP.
The only gambling that should be in STO is Dabo, and that’s only because it uses EC and not real money.
i waited almost 2 months when the DilEx was about 5 mil backlog, NO way its only 2 months with 13mil backlog as of today... nope, bet its gonna be alot longer sadly, tho i wish im wrong ofc, thats for sure -.-
They will hit same level with a borg pack with cubes sphere and the scout ship. that will also sell like mad
For someone that does not have the D7, do you still recommend the disco bundle? Is the starship trait still part of the multi-target meta, or do you find that it is starting to fall off?
For AoE based builds it is still a top tier starship trait. If I didn't already have it on 3 characters I'd be getting the bundle.
@CasualSAB thanks for the reply. Love the channel. Keep up the great work! 🙂
Hi ,currently, the backlog is 41 days long.
you honestly think there will be a 15th anniversary bundle?
I know there will be.
Personally i dont think the game will shut down, also for next years anniversary bundle maybe multiverse ships
Voice of the Prophets is still an excellent experimental weapon as it has a 360 degree firing arc. Newer X-weapons do not.
For a new player Ec doesnt fall out of star ships, and the exchange is filled with profit hunters,
I'm taking about regular in game items, I know some are rarer drops than others but still, it's something older players dont even need, if you've been playing for years I'm sure you dont need EC I play on xbox ,
I'm only going to give one example, which is the worst I've seen ,
A item you can receive from the recruitment event , exocomm duty officer 250000000 Ec , yes I can wait for the event, but as a new player i didnt even know this dropped from a event called the recruitment event...
I have decent traits on my ship but I spent real money,
And got lucky with some in game items .
Atlas in the anniversary bundle please!!
Atlas was put into the Mudd's Dread Through the Ages bundle earlier this year. So we won't be seeing it in the 15th :(
Bring The argonaut to sto
Your facecam is too small, make it bigger ;p
I just want a giant eyeball on the screen looking back at me. "Howdy folks."
😱😱😱
Even with all the clear evidence DECA is actively looking to develop STO, the dilex and appalling server performance, makes me doubt a little. Last night i was doing nothing but refining dilithium and the game lagged and kick me out. I know is not my ISP because EVE runs like a dream by comparison. Hurry up DECA, at least tweet something.
hoooo PLEASE ARK ROYAL come to me baby.....
Let's make it awesome again!"
Who tf does that if they're planning maintenance mode? And if the new ESD was all Cryptic's work, then (1) okay I'll reassess as time goes by, but (2) why not scrap that idea if your plan is maintenance mode? Scrap it, put your programmers to other work. More profitable work.
Yet that new ESD is happening. They decided that. And to me, that's positive.
New ESD looks ass though.
I am hoping for two ships, Romulan Sci Shadow, and and Borg Sci Diamond.
Diamond will be instant hit. as long they don't frack it up with stupid traits and consoles. We wud love to see the whole Borg fleet :D
They should just build STO2 on unreal engine
Too much investment for a niche game. All assets would have to be completely rebuilt.
Also DECA isn't a traditional developer making original games, but a "games keeper" keeping older games running.
Been having a lot of fun with monster hunter, nice community when a level 900+ helps u in the hard missions..
Yeah, right, eccentric is one word you could use to describe that asshat 😳 I can think of several others.
Do you want Nazis in Star Trek? Because that's how you get Nazis in Star Trek.
Lol please no, he's such a dumbass
I just realised I've spent about half an hour writing comments on this video and I'm still paused at five minutes in hahaha.
Oh well. Here's to the algorithm! 😉
🧙♂️🪄💨 Thank you.
