You have to wait for the square to turn red then the homing launcher can lock on you also can't use miniguns while in cover and you can jump if you're carrying it too.
Hey Sam, I think the minigun is available for you to buy by now if you haven’t gotten it yet. I’d also suggest getting some extensions for your guns, like getting extended mags and flashlights.
If you are planning on playing some other games after this one I have some suggestions: Watch Dogs: (1 and 2) the two best Watch Dogs games, there is a third one but aside from it being set in London it’s not really a good game to be honest in terms of story, characters and overall mission structure but the gameplay and location (like I mentioned) is pretty good though, the other two games do a better job at balancing everything though. The Hitman Trilogy: (Hitman 1, 2 and 3) All three games are awesome, although is a game where you need to be a bit more strategical with your planning and action but most of the missions are really cool and there is some really interesting bonus missions available depending on what version of the games you buy. Red Dead Redemption: (1 and 2) Two absolute masterpieces but of course play Red Dead Redemption 2 first as the first game is actually a continuation of the second game, despite the fact that the first game was released back in 2010. GTA: (GTA 4 and San Andreas) my two favourite GTA games outside of GTA 5, GTA 4 is a much more darker game compared to 5 in terms of story, characters and setting but at the same time it’s one of the most detailed and interesting stories in the franchise whilst San Andreas is the most iconic game in the franchise that everyone loves. Mafia: 1, 2 and 3/Definitive Editions) These 3 games are set in the 1900’s and like the title of the games explore what Mafia’s we’re like in three different time periods and across America (plus the games developed by 2K Games which is the parent company of Rockstar Games which is a random fact) Battlefield: (Hardline) Not really the best game I’ve played and is more of a first person shooter game compared to the games I have mentioned above but this is actually a Police game so it might interest you, or it might not but you could take a look into it.
