mickey is literally THE BEST example of good character development. he went from a boy who was ashamed of himself and would kill anyone in a heartbeat if they knew who he truly was, and he pretended like he didn’t give a shit about ian. he looked like he didn’t care about himself either. now he’s a man who wants to take care of ian on his bad days and wants to be with him for the rest of his life. he looks healthy and like he’s taking care of himself. mickey doesn’t give a SHIT about who knows he’s gay anymore because he’s fINALLY HAPPY.

Him being more comfortable with his sexuality and who he is in the world has also made him more stylish and comfortable with that expression of himself too. He's no longer afraid to express that he cares for aesthethic ("I like how the gold chairs catch the light" "your stole this ugly piece of shit?") Which I'm sure in the past he wouldn't be comfortable showing that he cares about that kind of stuff because unfortunetly those things still consider as "femenine" for some people. I love it when clothes complement the story arch.
In a way, I would argue that Ian regressed during S5 and after. I don’t like how the writers attribute it to his bipolar disease. The writers tried to make it like Mickey was triggering his bipolar outbursts when in fact Mickey was solid as rock for Ian trying to help him through his disease. It’s all in the past now I guess...but still it was a bumpy ass ride.

The scene in seasons five at 1:48 when I watched it a few years ago I didn't quite understand ian how could he let someone he loved so much and somebody who cared so much for him go. 5 years later when I saw that scene where he's like "are you crazy" I understand him so well having similar issues as him and having a boyfriend it's hard. It's hard to believe somebody who isn't supposed to (family) would love you that much, that somebody would chose your crazy ass over everything else. And sometimes I'm afraid my mental health which isn't that great takes a toll on my boyfriend and even tho he reassures me over and over again sometimes that one thought that I do not deserve him won't leave me alone the thought that I am holding him back or something. So yeah I completely understand ian and seeing them ending up together loving each other seeing how much mickey loves him and would do anything for him no matter how "crazy" ian is gives me a lot of hope that everything is and will be okay

I’m single now but everytime I get close to someone I kinda stop myself because I always feel like if I let someone see all of me they would run away eventually because I always believed even I can’t deal with my baggage why and how would someone else? So I always understood Ian and I would get mad when I see people talking shit about him over it. I’m happy that you have someone great in your life and I hope things continue to work out for you 💕

They don't see how precious those little actions Mickey and Ian do for each other, and for it to become as grand as a marriage. It's a long an painful journey, but definitely worth it.
