Thank you for your answer, but as it does stretch the rectus femoris only indirectly, does it also help with the knee cap? My problem is, that after a bad Tibial plateau comminuted fracture i have sometimes a lot of tension in my knee cap, i suppose patellar tendon. What stretch would you recommend? Best regard
The way I was taught this stretch is for the client to sit at the very edge of the bench so the femur is not supported by the bench. I can see where the stretch you are doing would stretch the quads, but not sure it's doing much for the Psoas.
Putting the hip too close to the edge will cause the pelvis to move into anterior pelvic tilt and will diminish the overall stretch. I have been practicing this stretch for over 17 years. It is best not to be too close to the edge.
thanks for your support... does it help for APT posture? please help
No problem! Yes, this stretch can help with discomfort related to an APT.
Thank you for the exercise. What exercise would you recommend if sb has no partner and has to do it on your own? Best regards. Beate
If you are by yourself, I would recommend trying the first stretch in this video.

Yes, that stretch also helps with kneecap related pain as it stretches the quads and the patellar tendon.@@beatebell93

the rectus femoris only, which is a hip flexor also, but I see what you're saying.
Just turn this static stretch into a dynamic one by extending n flexing d right knee.....it's more effective in d long run n doesn't need a partner
Put her hip to the edge of the table
