Great message, Trevor. I've heard terrible stories of PPG pilots who flew behind large beach condos and took collapses due to rotor.

That trailer example is crazy. Thanks for making these for us beginners. Would love one discussing weather and how to spot flyable vs not flyable weather. Especially when a storm cell just passed or is near on radar. Bonus points if you explain when it’s okay to mid day fly (with more experience) because I watch old tucker videos and in a couple of them he gets to without thermals

@@blakewalsh1515 if that’s the case people in Washington state should start paramotoring and maybe the depression rate will lower lol. All day paramotoring sounds amazing

Very glad to see you make your own way Trevor. I like how you provide the set details on your pricing and schedule. I was very turned off by the other guy's bait and switch.... "yeah, training is 2500, but that's only if you buy your gear from me, 4500 if you don't". If the nation hasn't gone to heck in a handbasket by this time next year, I'm going to hit you up. I still want to fly paramotor. There are some very cool places I want to fly and film here in the Pacific Northwest. I wish you much success!

Did a recent flight with a very new pilot and while following along a river with a lot of trees and hidden fields surrounded by trees it's fun to get low and play in calm conditions. On this day we had some wind and I could feel the rotor when getting low in those tree surrounded fields so I opted to stay above. The other pilot was getting low and staying there all around these fields and thankfully he never had an issue. I'm still a little confused as he is extremely lightly loaded on his glider which should be a perfect recipe for a collapse? So much to learn in this sport and I'll just continue to play it safe and videos like this solidify my decision making!

I remember from my hang gliding days, avoid flying behind anything with the wind out in front. There is a calculation height of object x strength of wind, plus a factor of 10, gives you safe distance from the obstacle which is causing the rota

Still trying to learn how much bump to tolerate. 8 months flying and 90 hours in the air. Been tossed around a bit with no issues so far but don't want to learn what too spicy is by falling out of the sky either

Forgive my ignorance here but why don't wing manufacturers use thin removable battens or stiffeners in parts of the wing to prevent them from collapsing? Carbon fiber is strong, stiff, and relatively light for example.

So, it'd kinda be like the situation in the bed of a pickup truck maybe? Say if you had some empty cans in the bed, I've noticed they dance around a bit with a marginal bit of speed, but, if you jump on the interstate, etc. and start cruise at about 65 mph, the dance a good bit. Jump up to say 85-90 mph and all hell breaks loose, with eventually having a can-free bed as they make their way out off 'the rotor' created there. Maybe it's rather drastic by comparison(or maybe it isn't?), seems like it can vary a good bit although it could show a perspective of just how disruptive and turbulent conditions may become, and sure in some cases, wildly unpredictable depending on many factors. I will be doing my best to at a minimum, being AWARE now, or even possibly just avoiding 'rotor' until I feel a bit more confident with my skill level. Either way, GREAT point Trevor... I ALWAYS learn something from your input/vids, thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences as always.

even i knew everything you said just now. many friends dont. and i see them fly behind large rocks, mountains, buildings regulary. even i warned them.
TREVOR i dont have the chance to get proper training here in china. in case i feel i am getting whacked by turbulence or wake of another paramotor. is it always brakes down and full power? or are there scenarios where this will give me more trouble? i am purely talking about flying straight and suddenly feel a huge bump in the wind. getting dropped or lifted. no acro or other stunt related stuff
