He was very critical of the money spent. Personally I think the logic makes sense for Chelsea and the situation they're currently in... you've spend over a billion and if you get someone elite, they're going to want to spend more than Chelsea currently have.
Rumour has is that Poch has gone because he wanted more control over players at the club, with the main example being that he doesn't want to play Enzo, and wanted to change the profile of the squad to build it in his image (i.e. fast transitions, very horizontal). Club however have spent £100m on Enzo to be a patient build-up team, and it's pretty tricky to undo that now.

  • @anglewoden

If I had my way it would be Boehly and co that go. It was just a few days ago Boehly was saying how impressed he was with the 'beautiful' football Chelsea were playing and his reward for that is to sack him? Saying that I never wanted Poch, I was happy with Tuchel and we have had some poor managers like Potter. Boehly thinks the answer is to employ another yes man which Poch was until a few months ago and then it got better. What Chelsea need is a strong manager that decides on the players he needs. We are still waiting for a striker FFS, Broja comes back and gets farmed out when we needed backup, Boehly is a clown.

    Enzo Maresca managing Chelsea.
    - Vincent Kompany managing Bayern Munich.
    - Xabi Alonso managing Bayer Leverkusen.
    - Xavi managing Barcelona.
    - Mikel Arteta managing Arsenal.
The most influential man, not only in football, but in the world. Pep Guardiola.
Football is a form of entertainment and escape a lot of people rely on. His influence on the sport, helping players like Lionel Messi develop into the player he is today, whilst also increasing the competitiveness of many of the world’s biggest clubs, has directly improved the lives of millions, and millions of people.
I know people personally who were close to ending their own lives over football, before Guardiola’s influence improved their lives significantly - indirectly.
    Thank you for everything.

The fact that Poch lasted one season should tell you everything. Its not the players, or the manager, its the club and its owners. Given the money spent, finishing 6th is absolutely shocking. Not having a shirt sponsor for half a season, going on wasteful tours of the states in the summer. This club doesn't know what its doing. I like Enzo, but I honestly think he goes in thinking Chelsea will be one thing and finds out that its not what has been advertised. Chelsea are obviously good at selling this image that they are an established club, with pedigree and stability. And while the pedigree and history can't be argued with they are a ship without a rudder. Tuchel had more experience and didn't make it. Potter and Poch the same. Sorry Enzo, but the Prem ain't the Championship. Good luck.
