    A sound bite from AAA President, India Johnson after her 2012 promotion (38 years with AAA). A big disconnect here. Basically, ICDR Thomas Ventrone is violating the president's clear message that 'parties can be assured the case will go forward'.
    Editor: What is the most valuable contribution of AAA to the arbitration process?
    Johnson: We have self-enforcing arbitration rules that have been time and court tested. If the parties are unhappy with each other and don’t have a provider like AAA with a comprehensive set of rules, they can’t really be assured that their case will go forward if the other party drags its feet. If you have such a provider and an agreement to arbitrate, parties can be assured that the case will go forward. Both sides therefore have a strong incentive to participate because an enforceable award can be rendered even where the arbitration proceeds on an ex parte basis.

    If you want to learn more about the legal arbitration process in Finland, please contact Helsinki district court and ask them for further guidance. It’s possible, that not all parties need to be present during the hearings.

    Thank you for the informative video. I made the mistake of signing a contract that said that if the employer and I had any disagreements then we would have to go through arbitration. We have a disagreement but he gives many excuses for not wanting to go through arbitration. How can I force him to go through arbitration?

      "If it were me" I would pay the minimum fee I am required to pay for Arbitration, and once that is done, the employer has no choice but to join arbitration once its initiated. The Arbitrator will notify the employer that arbitration has begun. The employer can tell the Arbitrator all the excuses they want. I would never ever allow an employer to dictate to me as to what I can/should do or not do. I know that if I do not exercise my rights, I have no rights, that is why I exercise my rights often and accordingly. Again, this is just what I would do if it were me.
