We should make Newton sit until there is absolutely no question he is healthy even if it's the entire year. We have seen so many careers be derailed here letting guys come back just for the problem to flare up again. He was pushing himself through it in college. Let him truly get healthy so he can come in and dominate for a long long time. I hope we protect this kid and our investment in him

He missed camp to do commercials when with Washington, but nobody cared for the past few years.
I just hope they protect JD with a strong running game and a simplified, condensed playbook. As he gains NFL experience start opening up the playbook and give him no more than he can handle. I don't want them to throw him to the wolves like Eric B did with Howell last year.
I used to watch Josh Norman, Danny Johnson, and a safety(who's name is slipping my mind at the moment) stay on the field after practice. It was usually a one on one type of deal but sometimes all 3 of em would do it in a group. Think of it like an NBA tip off. They would stand face to face, throw the ball straight up into the air and then they would fight to be the one to come down with it. I always thought this was a great drill and should have been utilized by the team. To make it even better make it a WR vs a DB, use the jugs machine for a more realistic ball angle(and have a qc coach moving it a little so there's a little more discrepancy in ball location), and you now have a realistic scenario you can run a dozen or so times per minute. No QB needed, no time wasted running routes, getting back in line and waiting in line to do it all over again. Of course you need that traditional structure as well to work on all the other aspects but for contested catch and interception practice I don't think it gets much better. Plus now you can have shorter lines for your traditional drills and everyone is getting more work in

Just a heads up on Johnny Newton's rehab from Jones Fracture Surgery. It's 6-8 weeks for the head of the 5th metatarsal to heal. It actually takes 3-4 months to be as good or better than new.
It depends on the person. I had a Jones playing baseball refused to get surgery and it was healed by the time football season started. Least I never felt it again. Never got calcium deposits, spurs or anything. Then again I broke my navicular (wrist) playing football, had surgery and its bothered me to this day. Bone spurs, arthritis yada yada. Have a feeling Jer'Zhan will be back sooner than later.
The Field closest to the building was turf so that the Logo always looked good, it was one of the last things left from the JKC era. That should be the nail in the coffin for anyone who thought Harris would return the old name.
Basketball is just for grip strength. Football is not wide enough or shaped properly for what he's trying to do.

@CRAZYHORSE19682003 he's not athletic like Aaron Rogers. He's very stiff and not fluid. His arm isn't as strong. Caleb Williams is closer to Aaron Rogers minus an inch and a half of height. Honestly, if he was a natural athlete, he would give me Joe Montanna vibes. Sucks he didn't play multiple sports. Joe is a quiet odd guy who's very chill. Plus, they have high work ethic. Jayden Daniels lacks humility. This season will change that.

Aaron, Patrick and Caleb are the QBs who share that flexible mobility you’re referring to and even then both Patrick and Caleb take it a notch further than aaron did. jD athleticism isn’t to be questioned as he’s one of the most athletic QBs with his speed and twitch , so I could say Arod isn’t as athletic as JD. I agree JD is a bit stiff in his running because he’s more of a upright vertical runner with straight line speed with a bit of twitch to make cuts and make a man miss but not on the level of Lamar where he actually runs like a RB with finesse and light feet to make multiple guys miss. I think of JD like a gazelle when he runs lol and what’s up with the lacks humanity comment? No one who actually knows him has ever said that.

NEVER insult Doug Williams by comparing him with Jayden Daniels. #1 Doug was a Tampa Bay Buccaneer player first and foremost. He's not a Redskin. #2 he was a prototypical QB #3 elite arm. #4 signed by Skins as a backup. He earned everything he worked for. This started over 5 decades ago, and he won the Skins a Superbowl when he was 33. This is why starting Jacoby and keeping Sam Howell made all of the sense in the world. Terry McLaurin will not reach 1k this year. He's not a natural hands catcher and that will show up. His route running has always been bad. It showed up all last year with a top tier NFL QB. His breaks are terrible. There were multiple college receivers who excel at this available in the 2nd round i.e. Ladd, Polk and Pearsall.
