    The World Government Qualities:
    - An Empire
    - An interesting take on the United Nations
    - Pretending to be a Federation where everyone is equal, but otherwise.
....Its really interesting diving into the political system of the One Piece world.

There's also the history aspect to it. Between the deliberate erasure of the end of the large, world-dominating kingdom during the Void Century and the secret occupant of the Empty Throne, it sort of makes you wonder if that kingdom actually lost the war. And then there's all the rest of the mysteries. Where is Pluton, and is it associated with either the minks or the Birkans? What and where is Ouranos, and does it carry an association with one of the non-human tribes? Where is Zushina going? What are devil fruit, and where do they come from? Whose side is Vegapunk on? Did the world of One Piece get invaded by space aliens at some point? Is the final boss of One Piece actually the last Ba'al clone?

It just goes to show that "Absolute Justice", to the WG, is anything but. It's just a tool to ensure Marines will replace their own sense of justice with compliance to their orders. It's meant to get them used to doing immoral things in the name of the law, so whenever the WG needs something immoral done they can count on the Marines.
Sakazuki is just finding out that the WG doesn't *really* want true, principled adherence to Absolute Justice. They just want him to do what he's told and call it Justice as a post-hoc rationalization.

@@OhKayEl i always interpreted the proverb to be more along the lines of, people being blind to the unintended consequences of their actions simply because they believed their actions to be good. the idea that one is doing something with good intentions and so everyone who opposes them must have bad intentions, being fully unwilling to even hear the critiques from those who disagree on even a small part of their ideals or policies and forcing those policies on everyone often causing more harm than good.
in other words those who believe they are truly and unquestionably good are the least fit to rule over others, as to truly do good one must understand their own flaws and limitations and be open to the views of others who may have knowledge that they don't.

I think water 7 may be the model that the world to follow after the world government gets taken down. Iceberg gaining the trust of the people through effort and teamwork. If we look at the sea as a personification of the world government in a sense water 7 has been slowly being battered by it year after year with aqua laguna and the people only solution to build upon the older buildings but iceberg wants to free the city of it. He wants to make a floating city free of control from the sea, unlike the islands that must deal with it. The shipwright of water 7 had a connection with the ancient past since the pluton was created there. His ideal also would align with luffy ideal of a pirate king is the freest man on the sea but he frees his city instead. This would be another metaphor of being free of the past that held up water 7 so long for a true solution would mirror the world being held by the government for centuries but being free once the truth of the void century is known and the world government is taken down.

I do find it interesting Sakazuki:
    - Didn't kill Bonney/Kuzan when he had the chance.
    - Calls out the Gorosei for the Doflamingo resignation stunt and was trivially dismissed by them.
    - Has been locked out of information like being unwilling to send Borsalino to Wano while CP-0 is negotiating with Orochi and also while the Marines didn't know about Joker, CP-0 also used him as a middle man for their business.
So it is clear he has absolute adherence to the marines, but is not blindly obedient to the World Government and Celestial Dragons and is also pretty aware and disgusted by their corruption like Kuzan, Issho and Smoker. So I do think he is more noble in that way compared to Lucci and the CP agents.

Tao Jones T.jones he murdered them because he thought they were turn coating. Which is pretty common practice. Desertion in almost any military is a death sentence. Also in many it’s a death sentence to defy orders.
You probably haven’t study war or militaries that often. Or your default is that armies are evil. Which is fair
But pirates are pretty awful. Yes luffy doesn’t kill. But shanks does. In fact all the yonkos steal and pillage and kill. They are all pretty bad.
So if you view it that then killing someone for not killing murders and thieves and generally bad people then it’s not bad.
In another story we would be following the marines. We wouldn’t be following Luffy. Luffy isn’t really a pirate. He doesn’t do pirate things. He is more of an anarchist.
He doesn’t typically attack people who aren’t already proven bad. He has strong morals. He seems to only steal food.
Like generally speaking him and his crew aren’t evil.
The worst thing luffy did was break out of prison with big bads. It was to reduce his brother.
We see the marines as bad is because luffy is not bad. In relation to pirates as whole tho then the marines are good.

Really diggin the point about Big Mom because the Emperors (Big Mom and Kaido at least) run their territories very similarly to the World Government with those useful being rewarded, the high-reliance on military might, and being highly concerned about their image in the eyes of the world in order to maintain a reputation of invincibility. Secondly, I guess you're right, you could say the yonko are pawns of Im. Sengoku said the world balance is kept by having the marines, the shichibukai and the yonko on equal footing, you'd think the goal of the wg would be to destroy the yonko and then the shichibukai but Sengoku didn't explicitly say that. I agree with much of the video but you seem to think that their “justice” has to with how they obey the law. It’s how they carry out the law. I mean that island had to be exterminated and ice man still did it. He just didn’t think a child who probably didn’t know how to read the glyphs needed to die.
He decided that the mission would be carried out without killing innocents. Where as lava man was like “my orders are to kill everyone in the island”
Absolute justice means the law followed by the most basic interpretation.
This is why you are confused by reasonable justice. He still follows the law becusse they all do. They all believe the law is justice or they wouldn’t have joined the marines who are essentially the police.
He is reasonable in how he carries out his justice.

    • @vaiyt

Absolute Justice is based on a couple premises:
      - The law is synonymous with morality.
      - No means are immoral in the pursuit of justice.
These two principles are designed to push Marines into discarding their own sense of justice and replacing it with compliance to their orders. It gets them used to doing immoral things in pursuit of the law and retroactively calling it justice, so whenever the WG wants something immoral done they can count on the Marines to execute it.

Judging from his introduction talk with Issho he might be "selfish justice" or something. He'll only do something if he wants to. Like when Sakazuki ordered him to remove Issho from the Reverie,
      "I don't want to!"
and how he doesn't even bother to eat without some sort of motivation.
It would support my theory that the new 2 admirals' justice are sort of mirrors to the 2 former admirals that they replaced.
Admiral Fujitora's "blind justice" where he blindly follows the laws of the government, with the goal of exposing the flaws of the system, while Akainu follows the laws to support the system.
Aokiji had his "lazy justice" where he sometimes doesn't follow the rules in order to help others. If my assumption about mirroring justices is correct then admiral Ryogukyu doesn't always follow the rules to benefit himself.
Tho I don't know.. Might be wrong.

14:16 Then why the fuck did they even let Sakazuki and Kuzan fight. That makes no sense that if they wanted the world to continue as be then they would've just been like"Kuzan, fleet admiral,K?" On top of that Kuzan didn't even want to be fleet admiral until he heard Sakazuki was nominated .

    • @RoronoaZoro-ur6hr

Sengoku wanted Kuzan to being the next Fleet Admiral after him, but the Gorosei wanted Sakazuki to being the next Fleet Admiral instead whereas the Celestial Dragons themselves didn’t really gave a shit about who was the next Fleet Admiral, so Kuzan fought with Sakazuki for 2 years, so that way if he was the sole Victor than for once Sengoku’s orders being followed instead of the Gorosei’s orders, but since the World Government in the status quo, and the status quo is god whenever it comes to the World Government in One Piece Sakazuki was made Fleet Admiral and Kuzan became a Pirate.

Borsalino is personal justice while adhering to the system
Sakazuki is justice adhering to the system
Kuzan is personal justice that is unable to work under the system
Issho is personal justice that is able to work in the system and change it through bureaucracy
    Ryokugyu ???
Edit: [Dragon may be personal justice that is unable to work under the system, but changes it in revolution ] (we really never seen a personal justice/philosophy refereed to as a justice outside the world government other than Doffy someone who didn't leave the system but was forced out rejecting the idea of justice in the system and personally )

Absolute justice is not on paper or in nature bad but in practice is bad
Dark justice is in nature and in practice bad

Russia - a monarchy pretending to be a democracy
China - a fascist country pretending to be socialist while one person consolidates power while saying it is in a name of communism making it almost impassible to stop him without looking like you're not against communism and a political dissenter) ( End )

At that point he was being extremely petty, wanting pirates to being down Dofflamingo so that he could further prove that the Warlord system is broken, since the job if Warlords is to handle pirates and this would be a Warlord failing to best pirates. I dont recall when he interfered with people stopping Doflamingo though, in fact I recall him standing alongside pirates to help slow down bird cage. After it was all over he did go after luffy and law since they were pirates, but even then he insisted on letting the dice buy them time to get away
