- We couldn't have hoped for a better ending to our trip up what could very well be the best mountain for trekking in the Philippines...
We woke up to trek the summit of Mt. Hamiguitan for sunrise. Tired, damp, and lacking a bit of energy... all of that went away when we reached "heavens door" and the sun started to come up through the clouds!
UNBELIEVABLE.
This was one of the best sunrises I have ever seen in my life. It was truly the perfect ending to our trip in Davao. One of the best experiences I have had in the Philippines, with an amazing group of people!
Mt. Hamiguitan is a Unesco World Heritage Mountain in Mindanao, and it was such a beautiful place to explore!

Tatay pedoy is one of the respected local tour guide/porter "LEGEND", he's right, mt. Hamiguitan is very3x important and need the fully protection not only by the local but also in every human, it's because as like me also a lumad residence in san isidro, mt. hamiguitan is the source of everything, it's a home and most of all it is also the source of life for everything human being, for me, we can't sacrifice every part of the mountain for sake of the tourist, let the tourist adjust or sacrifice for the continuity conserving & protecting the mountain to maintain the wonderful beauty of nature and for the future of upcoming generations👌🙏☝️

This is by far the best sunrise I have ever seen in my life. Although is just on a video it looks mesmerizing. Breathtaking views and colors. I envy you in a good way that you get to experience this. I hope we as Filipinos should listen and learn from Tatay to look after our mountains and respect them. My hats off on Tatay and of course to the ladies and guys who’s working hard for Mt Hamiguitan. What a wicked excursion, definitely not for the faint at heart, following your group/enterage has really got my juices flowing. This heritage park has equivalent beauty to our high alpine in north america with the added bonus of the filipino people to accompany you and serve you after each tiring day. All the struggles, challenges and burn you encounter completing the trek seem worth it. This is obviously a grind of an excursion but well worth the rewards, and comradery built along the way. Congrats to all (esp the female participants) who persevered and shared your unforgetable experience on this challenging terraine. Will take this challenge on myself hopefully sooner than later.

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE. Mt. Hamiguitan is BEAUTIFUL and they only accept 30 trekkers on the mountain range at a time. You have to co-ordinate with the DENR and Park Office in San Isidro to climb.
