Apparently they never heard about what happened in Parsppany NJ circa 1992 when it was thought to be a good iidea to take rookie FFs through a dilapidated burning school bus to "make them feel some heat' snd in complete disregard to NFPA 1403. Multiple life-altering and career-ending injuries as a result. Thought we would have learned by now twenty-some years later.
I am in agreement with the other comments. I viewed this after reading from the secret list. This is no way to train. I hope they can learn from the comments posted and look into what is required for live fire training. Training isn't just about "you need to feel heat". We all get comfortable in the way things have always been done, but it is the best interest to follow the guidelines that are easily accessible to view. They are there because horrible events happen. Safety, Safety, Safety, Please!!
I agree with all the other posts except that I am terribly disappointed with the training and those involved. This is my home county [don't know the department(s)} but this would not have been tolerated by any department in York County when I was there in the 1960's. I've been gone a long time and am ashamed of this and it being posted as though it is fantastic. Hope no one was hurt. This kind of crap lines the pockets of lawyers and for good reason. But of course I forgot "We are volunteers"
Aside from the numerous 1403 violations, what is this supposed to be training these people for?

He was removed as chief days later.... he was a damn fool that almost caused the station to be put out of service.
