ROOTS...Spudding and dragging... What a great episode. That's pretty much our ice fishing in Pennsylvania.... I love watching the dream team out fishing for jumbos!
Hello IDO! I retired from Trucking back in '18 and moved from Michigan to Eufaula, AL. I kinda forgot all about northern fishing and all the great folks @ IDO. I'm back in the truckin' game as of late. 3 days ago I crossed the Mississippi at LaCrosse and seen a handful of guys and shelters just south east of the dam and it got me thinking about In Depth Outdoors!!! Then look, an episode on the Mississippi!!! It was meant to be!
As a kid and adult, ice fishing the Mississippi was always my go to…. I always brought my son and friends and told them, especially on Sundays, they could be no closer to Gods alter as it was so beautiful. Even if fishing was unsuccessful, we had a beautiful day.
These dudes aren’t good at finding spots man. They have local guides all over the country that they network with. Easy to be one step ahead when you have guides from all over calling you and letting you know when/where the bite is hot. Just saying the credit goes to the guides that tell them when and where to go to film their show. 😂😂😂😂
Next time you come to sag bay try the shallows for giant perch. Caught multiple 14-15" and a 17" won franks big perch contest. The hard bead spoon bite is unlike anything anywhere in the world other the lake St. Clair and lake Simcoe but it all started 100 years ago on sag bay. No bait just slab grabber and willow spoons
I think some people might actually be skittish about ice fishing on the Mississippi River As rivers are constantly moving, the ice doesn't form as well compared to lakes and the fear of being caught in the current
Love the videos long time watcher since season 1 been trying to get you guys to come down south and get some fish all I ask is maybe can you guys start letting people know where you're going to go instead of where you are it'd be awesome to run into you guys out on the river💜😇
I wish you guys could fish for different species. Scrolling through your most recent videos its all walleye and panfish... I would love to see the hundreds of other species we have in the midwest get caught by you guys!
coho, brook, brown, kings, lakers, pinks, white bass, largies, smallies, carp, gar, drum, burbot, bowfin, suckers, red horse, sturgeon, paddlefish, catfish are a few in MN to give you a few suggestions. :)
@@JimBowSlice I do. I appreciate the insight I get from IDO so much!! James and his gang has taught many people how to fish and that appreciation should not go unrecognized!
@@JimBowSlice I lived in Duluth for a year and the fishing on Superior or any tributaries had phenomenal fishing! Eric is awesome. RUclips has a plethora of fishing content. Im glad we're both aware of some great fishermen and women! Tight Lines @jimboslice2747
I wish you would do away with the 'spot on the spot'. You used to show similar areas/ patterns which was great, but now you are showing the exact areas you fishing. It really sucks for the locals who fish these spots. Might was well just be posting the GPS coordinates.

Hard to beat the Mississippi River bluffs and fishing. Some of the biggest perch and some of the best scenery around.
Another great video James. You and PJ make a great team!!

U could easily look for that content. I personally love how they travel doing what they do. They come fish my home waters every year.

Im with you the backwaters are screwed i used to go to get away from the crowd now its worse than anywhere kinda sucks
You guys know they are showing similar spots during their spot on the spot segments right? The highlighted spots are from different bodies of water.
@@philpick Not for this one, hence why I commented.
