I dont get why people are arguing about the ILS and auto approach. That landing was smooth. Something PIA is known for. Who cares what he used to land. He got the passengers down safely and thats all that matters!
This is not quite correct. Autoland is Autopilot ON+APProachmode ON as it can be seen in the video. You can also press the APP-Mode while youre manual flying this aircraft. APP only gives you guidance for the Localizer and Glidepath (ILS) and in combination with the "AP on" also guidance for rollout and flare for an Autoland. The APP Mode is like other Modes like HDG SEL V/S FLCH VNAV LNAV...that are making the FD vertical and lateral moving to give you or the AP guidance.

totally agree , i traveled in many airlines including Qatar , Etihad , Emirates , Saudia , kuwait ,klm , us airways ,united etc , PIA landing and take off is best in the world ,always smooth , its service is better then airlines like Gulf , Kuwait ,saudia , us airways etc etc but lesser then Qatar , Emirates , Eitihad ,,but PIA 777 from JFK to LHR or from UK to Pakistan is a much better service as compare with there shorter or domestic routes ,what suck is PIA fokers type airplanes inside PAK
LOL thats the only thing i commend them for, their landing and take off are amazing you dont know till the Stewardess comes out and tells you to exit the plane

cat 111??? and you say you are a retired 747 captain??it is CAT III(CAT 3) (CATEGORY 3) this landing isnt a ILS CAT III(CAT 3) i repeat CAT THREE!! More likely a CAT 1 or CAT 2 since the minimums are above 100 feet,most likely also above 200 feet that makes it a CAT 1 approach/landing.But this is an ILS.he have LOC and G/S capture! PIA is certified for CAT3 landings.Most airlines that have airplanes with this capabilities are also certified for CAT 2 or CAT 3 Approaches/landings! Stop trolling!!

That was an autoland right? The pilots seem to be making very little adjustments and the A/P light is lit until a while into the landing rollout

@acessopra thats not cat 111.....thats a visual approach. Im not certain that pia is even certified for cat 111....their pilots aint that good.
