This is easily the best flashlight I have ever owned. The Andruil UI is totally bonkers, but can be learned in its entirety in less than 30 minutes, so it’s not the burden that some make it out to be. Being able to execute all the functions of this light with one button is a blessing, not a curse. The belt clip has been changed and it way better on the newer models.
@Anthony Sculimbrene ?? How is it a complexity? The first thing he should've said in this video is don't buy this flashlight unless you have a general knowlsedge of batteries, battery safety, and high powered flashlights. That would automatically prepare people for what they are getting into with a light like this. You don't want to learn the proper info, then it's not for you. But you can't blame the flashlight or the manufacturer. Note- and if it's not for you, that is completely fine. There are other lights
I set the anduril to 7 steps and the thermal config once... 2 years ago. Hardly strenuous for someone that likes flashlights. Maybe you should stick to Surefire or something? And a flat top 18650 is a super mega wierdo battery? Yeah, I changed my mind. You should stick to Nebo.
If you don't like the UI, I get it. I love it but many don't. But to call the battery a "super weirdo" battery... ok- anyone who is new to this, the battery's that can work with this light are made by the largest battery manufacturers in the world , ie Samsung , Sanyo, LG and Sony and are very reputable. You know, the companies that make the batteries in your Olight, thrunite, nitecore and whatever other lights.just take this video with a grain of salt is all. But thanks for the video nonetheless, promoting a quality brand of light for the average user.
Don't be afraid of batteries or UI's, just do some reading and learn a little. 6 months ago I knew nothing and now I could give more info in a video than our commentator here. I just did some reading. No need to scare people.
Thanks you for info on battery and factory reset. Took a while to reset. I had to repeat the screw off while holding tail switch. Actually took me 30 min. Gets really hot!
I think almost every person who vapes electronic cigs has 100 unprotected Samsung and Sony 18650s sitting around. I think I had anduril memorized before I even had a light that used it just from watching reviews. lol.. Oh this light has an updated clip and it's much better now.
Good thing I started vaping to quit smoking... I have about 40 18650s. The flat top is actually the standard 18650. Google 18650 and you'll find a million different places you can get them. What were you expecting? Tri-AA setup?
If you drop into one of the locked in modes (like muggle or momentary only) you should be able to drop out just by taking the battery out and replacing it. As far as batteries go, I use Keepower or Efest from illumn or 18650 battery store and haven't had any issues.
@@zappergames4785 Yes he's correct. That's a safety feature to don't lit anything on fire after changing batteries, as if your child would get his hands on the flashlight.
The UI is for people who are a bit more experienced with flashlights and want to be able to customize their light to exactly the way they like it the truth is it is actually extremely simple if you just want to use it norma,l one push on, one push up and press and hold to move up and down. These LEDs are sst20.
That is such an incorrect comment about the battery. The flat top is the most common battery. All lithium batteries start as flat top and then the manufacturer adds the button. Almost all cells are unprotected flat top.
@Anthony Sculimbrene If thats how you feel then you need to sick to AA light from Home Depot. Lithium based light as very high performance. No, you cant get lithium batteries from a grocery store but they last ten years and have virtually no self discharge.
Mmm... Not sure this 'incredibly complex' flashlight is the right one for you. If it's too much then perhaps stick with the simple ones that have low, medium, high modes and use batteries you can by locally?
This comment section is an exercise in people mistaking "reviewer with distinct preferences" for "reviewer who doesn't know what he's talking about." It's okay to not be a fan of Anduril, people!
@Anthony Sculimbrene for all intents and purposes, flat tops ARE the default. Many manufacturers don't actually produce button top variants, the buttons are usually added on by third party vendors.
Dude, I'm not trying to be disrespectful but flat top 18650s are NOT hard to find. Want one? Drop into any vape shop in your town. Button top 18650s are the ones that are hard to find. I'm sorry but I have to downvote this one. While the UI is not for beginners, the UI is not bad.
Two things-most people get batteries at Walmart. Flat top 18650s are there. Second, the UI was updated and improved upon for a reason. Anduril 2 is quite good.
@@EverydayCommentary The KR4 is not a light that should be used with Walmart grade 18650s. I'm not sure what 18650s you're finding at Walmart but I would never recommend them for high power flashlight use.
Once you get the UI down you can’t mess it up. Just learn how to factory reset from the very start. And if you mess up reset it takes less rhen 2 seconds. Also you say it’s complicated. It truly isn’t hard at all. It’s very easy and basic. Also the battery’s, you can get from any lithium ion 18650. If you don’t have button top use magnets… that’s what I do. Honestly you are spreading FUD. Learn the UI learn about battery’s. And you will be all set. You say the UI is bad?? How is it bad? It’s literally the best you can get on a flashlight. Anduril is featured yes, but it sacrifices usability for those features. On a practical basis, it is *not* a good UI at all. The most apt solution to the issues I’ve outlined is just throwing the flashlight into Muggle mode which is basically code-word for “I’m not a flashlight geek, so make the UI dummy for me”. The problem with this is that some of those extraneous features like the battery check and bike flasher are actually quite useful. Add on to this Muggle mode severely hampering the max performance of the flashlight, and it’s like slapping a band-aid on at best. The next argument I got was “or learn how to use the options”. Did I read that is 4300 lumens on high? What is the runtime on that from a single 18650?
All of these lights have 90 second highs and then their output drops off a cliff. It’s like ten percent thereafter so not a huge achievement.
