    What you mentioned about the narcissist is so true only wished you would of said he or she not just him. I am a male and was victimized by a female narcisisst.

      Narcissism is the last mental health frontier to be empathetic to. Are u born narcissistic or u become. Cos if u born so, then it is a disorder. But cos they not depressed it is hard for people to empathize. Anyone can be labelled narcissist

    I’m here because it would seem my entire town of about 9k is following , and complying with , the narrative . I feel quite lonesome . Actually it’s fairly scary . What has been coming to mind in the last several months is that I can just about promise you that 75% of the loudest , most self-righteous , etc. , have at least ONE of our Dr. Northrop’s books in their respective libraries . In addition to what’s been coming to my mind is that I would LOVE to have her come to this town to speak , on anything , and see if ANYTHING she had to say about “it” could even make a dent in it .
    I’m deeply heartened that you are on the planet with me , Christiane !

    "Your true beliefs will re-surface." Sooo true! I've noticed this with all the abusers I've dated. All of them, at some point, would realize the truth about their own behavior, and admit it out loud, unasked for by me. Soon they'd be back in denial, though.

    • @mandolaa
      @mandolaa 3 года назад +1

      They'll always be in denial and if they're not is just to hoover u back. I don't speak anymore my truth to them, they want lies and also if you tell them you're hurt by their actions, they enjoy it and look at u with a smirk in their face, they have sadistic tendencies. I just don't engage and I leave

    I was in a romantic relationship with a narcissistic psychopath for three years. He had a criminal past. He claimed he was actually the victim of those circumstances. The worst part of the relationship was the cognitive dissonance. He would pretend to be loving and caring during my time of need and then ghost me or gaslight me. I started to doubt myself and my perceptions.
    It got scary as I got to know him more because I would see the mask of civility slip and what was underneath was very dark. Thankfully, by educating myself on YT, I leaned what was going on and I realized the only way out was to go no contact. He threw a fit on Christmas. Broke several of the gifts I gave him and threw them on the ground near my car. I knew it was my chance for an out! I told him it was over and I never wanted to see him again. Of course he was spending time with someone else behind my back so it gave me more of an opportunity to distance while he was distracted. I haven’t gone back despite some of his weak efforts. I’m very proud of myself! It was difficult for me because I loved him and he was incredibly charming charismatic funny and intelligent, but the dark side was terrifying! If anyone is struggling with a narcissistic psychopath, I pray you will find a safe and quick exit from your relationship. Life has not been easy or perfect since leaving that relationship, but I have my peace and sanity back and I have hope that I will meet someone who I can truly connect with instead of someone who is manipulating my affections and my mind to their own end.

    Dissonance can also be caused by fears or limiting beliefs that have been taught to you. For example: you take courage and grab the opportunity to get up on stage and talk about how you feel about something. That's a good thing right?! I would think so.
    But your fears will tell you you've no right! To just shut up and not seek attention.
    And that causes dissonance because there's a conflict in your head

    Sexist comment about 'him' being a narcissist, but okay, I guess this is a "women's" channel. Otherwise, intriguing concept. Any inner moral or values conflict could be c.d.

      Toxic ppl have more issues with cogn diss themselves than all other ppl
      They would say exactly the same of their victims being toxic troubled by cogn diss, as that is what they must thrive on doing themselves to inflate their self worth image
      One can recognize toxic ppl best by their voice tone. As they seek control, their voice is intended to express authority. Does this ring a bell?
