    It’s always great to have a refresher course. When you don’t use the knots that often, having a review is always nice

    Good video Scott. Yes I too think that tared bankline is superior on 550 cord. I too use toggles on my Ridgeline, it just works.

    I think toggles are the way to go. I have yet to see a ridge line video done with cold wet hands in the dark. Everyone seems to be concerned with how fast you can take down, I’m never in that much of a rush. But quick and efficient set up when weather is coming in is a must.

    • @SDMountainMan
      @SDMountainMan  Год назад +1

      Definitely and with my tarp this works great no extra stakes needed and no trying to find a stick or something. I appreciate you watching and commenting if you like what you see please subscribe also. Thank you

  • @ExpeditionaryJonny
    @ExpeditionaryJonny Год назад +2

    Those toggles work really well, Scott. Beats feeding the entire line through a fixed loop and then feeding it back through when you are done.

    • @SDMountainMan
      @SDMountainMan  Год назад +3

      Slick slick and slick lol

    • @pedroclaro7822
      @pedroclaro7822 Год назад +1

      Absolutely! But there’s solutions to that - you can use any loop and instead of putting the rope all the way through it, just grab a bight of the long end and put a toggle in it. Holds tight and you just have to remove toggle to undo.
      Or you can tie a Siberian hitch - takes less time than either toggle.

    you can improve this by putting the second toggle on the line just as the 1st one , leaving one prusic before the pole , take the toggle with linearound the pole and into the prusik loop. 1 prusik saved or left on the line to hang something , like a tarp? look around its online already

    • @SDMountainMan
      @SDMountainMan  10 месяцев назад +1

      I did eventually this summer add toggles 2 for tarp and2 for the trees so it's easy just stretch it and tarp out and done I think I have a short video using a poncho I must have never loaded. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it.

  • @llEverydayCarnivorell
    @llEverydayCarnivorell Год назад +1

    Get rid of the toggles all together, and tie on prussik knots. Make em long then tie the prussik loop into a jungle knot.

    • @SDMountainMan
      @SDMountainMan  Год назад +2

      I've got regular prusik on there but with this tarp loops the toggle works great no need for extra pegs or looking for stick's etc
