- If you are a nature firend this may the project for you. Nature based and very labories chest armor for everybody with some experience in leather crafting.

Difficulty: medium Tools needed: basic
Recommended materials
- 3,5 mm (9 oz) veg. tanned leather
- 1,5 mm (4 oz) veg. tanned leather
- 10 D-rings for 4 cm (1.6 inch) straps
- 10 Buckles for 2,5 cm (1 inch) straps
- 2,5 mm (1 inch) wide straps form strong flexible leather or backpack straps
- Pressure buttons
- Long rivets
Tools: edge trimmer, cutting knife, burnisher, hole punch, leather carving tools, bone folder, clamps, sewing material, diamond shaped chisel, wing divider, glue, rivets

How well do you think the nylon backpack straps will hold up with the rivets? I would think they would be prone to fraying and eventually pulling through the rivets no?
Very good point! I had this problem with my vikign shoulder armor, but there a punched a hole, now like shown I only open a hole to keep the opening as close as possible. I changed that on my other shoulders and had no problem since
@@NilsBeardfoot You could likely delay or eliminate the fraying by adding in some thin plastic or metal washers on one or both sides of the nylon straps. It would give the rivet something to bite down on, but give a bigger surface for the strap to be held under.
