Literal translation: Byun: Don't live like That. DRG: Please stop (excluding or ruling out). "배제" literally means "exclusion/ruling out". Korean gamers often use them when they gamble and rule out part of their opponent's strategies(to get ahead or come back when they are behind). The other extreme would be scouting perfectly, building excessive defensive structures(eg. turret), preparing for every possibilities which, of course, is a losing strategy unless you are already so much ahead or vastly superior in skills. In this context, Byun attempts to get ahead by expanding early and NOT scouting, ruling out early zergling rush. So, after defending, he jeers, in a friendly manner, at DRG for succumbing to a strategy like zergling rush. DRG responds, "You got caught gambling. Stop being greedy".
So Lowko's translation: (Byun: "You son of a b****, why would you just rush a bunch of zerglings when I'm not scouting, how did you know" DRG: "Well maybe you shouldn't play so freaking greedy, dude") was pretty much spot on... guess he's better at korean than he thinks he is... :)

I think people keep talking about whats "too old" for high level gaming- but fail to see that life priorities have claimed far more than people who fell off. Those who "fall off" often is caused by a large meta shift and the top level expanding forward while that individual played less. This can be seen much quicker in games like Rocket League rather than Starcraft, but its likely the same reasons.
Regarding physical demands of the game the maximum age for most people would be like 69, definitely agree with your points. I think in the future we can see older gamers debuting as societal views shift.

Yo @lowkotv when i cast your vids with the ziggo media box in the netherlands. The image doesn’t align well. For example the vid only shows half of Byun’s name.
Toss is the most blind of the races. The nice thing though is observers are cheap and cloaked... and sentries can create hallucinations which are a free phoenix scout.
Back when widow mines were just released and they were still OP I would just go into games and literally cover the map in them. I was surprised how often that worked.
I think the mental image of a geriatric ByuN and Rogue playing a Bo5, maybe wearing some cybernetic implants, is one of the best things I've ever imagined.
13:07 I've been saying for years that creep is op. I don't understand why more players dont focus creep spread to the corner expands and all they way to the enemy base especially when they mass queens
To answer the question about age, your brain's reaction time peaks at 24, then it's steady decline. Fun enough, Starcraft 2 is one subject researchers used to study this. I guess at age 40, you won't reach the speed of Raynor at least, but still you can enjoy the game very much.
HOT TAKE: The ability to make multiple drones is what makes Zerg OP. Even if you do substantial economic damage if the opponent doesn't capitalize immediately it means nothing. If you don't beat them early to mid game, barring a miracle, you're going to suffer a slow death.
The thing that gets me is each race has unique features. Zerg gets vision and speed and flying and moving supply and larva and injects. Protoss get warp ins and restrictions on where they can build and warp in. Terran get to but their builds anywhere and fly them. Sooo yeah zerg defo has the advantage of base mechanics. Which is why their units are so ineffient. Protoss have the worst mechanics. They have so many restrictions as such they have the best units when put together. Terran are the middle of the road so have the best core units
That's not a full accounting of things: Zerg lose workers to building buildings and Overlords, their structures don't increase their production (except for the first Pool which lets Hatcheries make Queens). They are for the most part behind economically until the first injects complete. (A hatch produces workers at the same rate as a CC or unchronoed Nexus so they don't have any worker production capability advantage). Zerg also has by far the harshest building placement restrictions and no useful production to proxy to begin with. Zerg tech takes years to come online compared to T/P equivalents. Protoss Nexuses are extra effective from the get go due to Chronoboost, and Protoss doesn't have to pay Drones (50min and a production slot) or have SCVs build buildings (1min/sec of building's build time), and the all of the Nexus' spells are there by default, so they are ahead in early game economy for free. Protoss also doesn't get only warp-in: They also get shit like Recall, which lets them make threats without hard commitment the way T/Z have to commit, and Recall is fucking free. "Restrictions on where they can warp in" is not a disadvantage: The other races can't warp in to begin with. A single depot or Overlord doesn't automatically proxy most of the T/Z production. Zerg building restrictions are also even more severe than Protoss ones. Terran buildings, as said, cost an extra 1 mineral per second of build time due to occupying the SCV, and the SCVs themselves can be sniped while building things.
@@Komatik_ oh yeah absolutely this wasn't comprehensive and will agree on the warp-ins. But that being said there's way more that to consider I was just summarising some basic stuff. There's obviously way more than it in either of our comments from multiple worker production, mules, and stuff. Like it's a hard arse game to balance
As a 27 year old (it's my birthday! I got socks!) I'm feeling older every year. I can't play SC2 because I moved to the tropics with terrible internet, but my tennis game is now a lot more 'put the ball in the corner' than 'hit the ball hard!'. Better than ever though!
I always love watching RUclips captions try to keep up with Lowko... I think my favorite this video is when Lowko says 'Byun', and the caption just reads 'gun'
Scientific research finds that reaction time peaks around the age of 24. From there it becomes a very slow decline in reaction time. Most older players compensate for this through strategy, efficiency, and muscle memory.

I think you only need to watch a few moments of a POV of a professional StarCraft 2 player to know their wrists won't last passed 30. Pretty sure Jaedong had to retire because of the damage the gameplay was doing to his wrists.
So I’m completely new to the game and ran some 1v1s in ranked in hopes that it would place me somewhere in bronze or silver but nah Starcraft 2 is like WELCOME TO MASTERS is this a bug or something? Because I beat another “masters” players but same thing probably happened to him
