There’s one in Wales at the end of July. I can’t do that one due to a clash with the Armcbair Adventure Festival. I will be at the Dark Skies 500 in October
Quite a long day, and a lot of miles, Andre. I wonder if I'd like the roadbook. Seems strange for a roadbook novice like me. Although following a difficult track on an old Garmin 390 can be cumbersome ;-) One day we explore the Frankonian gravel tracks together. All the best, Günter/Nürnberg
It’s definitely something different. And following steps rather than a line on a map is definitely a different way to do it. I’m sure it’s even older than a Garmin 390! Greetings from a very wet France!
@@PeakMotorcycles An older system, indeed, Andre. And it must be convincing, because they use it on all rallies. Wishing you a long break from rain, today is TÜV (MOT) day for the Trident 900. Salut, Günter
Great Video... just completed the Kielder dark skies rally (my first) also on 1250gs. Can i ask what switch gear do you use to operate your road book ? I'm going digital next time, just seems a lot easier
Hi, for the paper road book, I’m using the standard switch that came with the roadbook holder. I did have to make a slight modification to fit it to the fog light bracket, but otherwise it’s stock. I haven’t really tried digital yet for a RallyMoto event. Congratulations on completing the dark skies 500. I had registered but due to having too much on (I got back from Morocco the weekend before and am off to Milan for EICMA this weekend…) I decided that it would be better for my sanity if I had a weekend at home doing laundry and sorting myself out. The pics looked great though!
Looks great, I'd love to try something like this some day. :)

I like your video and hope one day I can participate event like this too.
Thanks and yes, go for it. It’s definitely fun!
This looks like a LOT of fun!
I would love to do it on the CRF300 or the KLR650.
I’m going back to do another in October. The Dark Skies 500 has a night stage 😳
Would love to get into this, got some work to do on the bike first, get some spoked wheels and get some practice with offroading.
It’s fun and yes, those things would be a good start.

Camping?
I was in the van, with heating. It was toasty!
