    I lived and worked in Minneapolis from 1991 until 2006. It was a beautiful city. I worked in the heart of downtown and I loved it. I don’t even recognize my beautiful city anymore. So sad.

    Sad what they did to Minnesota. There is also a Hmong homeless encampment in St. Paul, and I know a few actual vets that are living there. Both Hmong and white. 70+ years old, and completely abandoned by our country. I bike through there and struck up a conversation more than once. Yes there a lot of drug addicts, but there are also a lot of people without family that are basically living out the end of their days in a tent by the river, under power lines. Sad, just sad that our government isn't doing anything for these people that sacrificed so much.

      That is so offensive to Chicago and Detroit, I grew up in the Chattam neighborhood of Chicago, it was a middle class neighborhood, with preacher, on the corner house, teachers , and government workers in the neighborhood, it was really a well kept neighborhood. What it's like now is a different story, with crime, and all other negative vices and behavior in the area now

    As a citizen in Minnesota, most of my life turning 52 this year, it makes me so upset to see all the homelessness everywhere and I know this is a problem. In every state.       @@colleenpiechowski8511 Legit, the first time I saw a bear was on the Munger Trail in Jay Cooke. Damn thing actually ran along side me for about 25 years and dipped back in the woods.
      Now I see them and it’s like seeing a dog. 🐶 I still respect them of course, but I don’t freak out like I did the first time.
      I actually have outdoor cameras to capture all the fun animals that roam around.
      Meanwhile in Mpls, I actually put nails in my old storm window frames so the window would only open so far up. That way anyone breaking in would have to break the glass and thus causing noise. It’s sad that I (and anyone who is street smart) had to think of things like that.

    Drove there yesterday and couldn’t believe how much graffiti I saw. Also, the grass on the side of highways was so high!! I couldn’t believe it. I remember even five years ago, it was that high and I didn’t remember seeing so much graffiti. Need new leadership in Mpls.

Even with the rez problems in our community, at least we have nobody camping in our woods (yet!) and hundreds, if not thousands, of acres between each other and some beautiful sunrise/ sunsets over the lake & at the beach!🌅

      I live north of the cities, however it doesn't make it crime free. Lived in Saint Paul until I was 25 and Anoka until 35 .. however it wasn't until we moved further out that we had a violent crime occur. A murder 2 blocks from us where a male killed his own family member in their home.
      Mental people are everywhere.

    You can see the city is not taking care of things like they used to. More graffiti just left there.. things are starting to break down and not repaired. Things could use a cleaning or a paint job... Gradual decline of Minneapolis. But they'll vote for it again I guarantee you. Every city has crime and homeless they say... An easy dismissal.

      St. Paul is having a problem of encampments escalating in certain neighborhoods. The tents are being put up near railroad lines, the river areas, walking trails in downtown areas where there's big areas of grass. The majority of people in these camps just want to stay high, drink, and not actively look for work and change their lifestyles. It's a growing problem.

    I grew up in MPLS,witnessed its downfall,all do to somalian refugees, nothing racist about it,the black population was happy in twin cities until u add 250k others identifying themselves as African American American . These two groups have melted together thru child birth and natural communal living,but are also still divided with hate as well. Instead of adapting to Minnesota,they made mpls adapt to them. Changing it forever,then ilhan Omar...they got representation before American.blacks here did
    The real "hoods" , actually dangerous places in mn are way west. Lawless and cartel ran

      When the Somalis took over cedar riverside and then over crowded it, the state of MN started giving out, and still do, endless types of housing subsidies to them. They have moved into the suburbs living in $1,500 plus per month townhomes and newly built houses. This group, of people live better than the average working class of Minnesotans. Heck, our US veterans and MN tax payers don't get freebies like this. WTH?

    There's plenty of open wooded areas in cites and counties like Woodbury, Anoka county, Burnsville, Minnetonka and much more for these people to pitch a tent. Minnesota is full of lakes, rivers and tons of wooded forest areas. Theses people can form their own communities in these areas. It's much safer to live there than on side walks, in over crowded encampments that are full of drug addicts and criminals.

    My family had a business downtown Mpls since 1905. Unfortunately due to the crime, we sold the business about 5 years ago. Over half of down mpls businesses have either moved, or went out of business, just in the last five years. Thugs run the city now and the politicians have allowed this to happen.

    Very sad how Minneapolis, looks now from when I moved up here 40 years ago, so run down, and ugly! and so much crime and homelessness, home prices are expensive! Even in the worst part of town its horrible here, now. Will be leaving the state all together my husband and me. It is horrible in South Minneapolis, you did not show that side of town as long, also Minnesota is not a good state for Minorities.

    I worked at the Mpls Ht Institue @Abbott Northwestern campus for 34 yrs. Retired in 2019. I don't hardly recognize the area anymore, thanks to Walz 😮‍💨

    Spent some time in the twin city's ,one time I drove my 1962 ford eco line van,to my cousin back up,another time a friend and I took the bus up there,and then I went up there with a friend to drive a 6? Pontiac 389 try power,convertable,red,fast,very fast for a big big boat,it was winter when we went up there,after a big snow storm,when they. Clean the streets,cars,garbage cans,all gets pushed off to the side,until spring,very dirty city,
