Any commercial size vehicle is entering into a whole new category of detailing and level of experience not many detailers have enough of doing other types of vehicles. Having to use a ladder like Jason was doing in this video would be a challenge for buffing and polishing.
For your first time I'm impressed. Your determination shows why you're at the top of your game 💯 We're in NWI if you ever want to step your polishing game let me know, we can definitely help you out.
Yo Jason I love how they sent you stuff and you actually still give honest review and feedback!! That is hard to come by now a days! Cough cough pan the advertiser 😂😂
Those blocks are called polishing rouge (probably not spelled right). The orange and yellow wheels are cutting wheels. I used to cut and polish at my old job. You get a much better result when you run a higher rpm tool. We used a dewalt grinder running at 9,000 rpms. You'll know when you're running a a good tool when you hit a wheel hole or lug nut and you dislocate your shoulder lol. On tanks, fuel and air, always move at a side to side motion, never up and down. It's very tedious and time consuming work, but the outcome is spectacular. We used to make our own polish with green rouge hammered into a powder, mineral spirits, and lighter fluid. Goes on green, then rub until it turns black. There's a product that looks similar but I've never tried it, called Zephyr. I could tell you were using a low power tool because your entire face wasn't black lol, I don't miss those days at all, very hard work. Love your videos man, keep it up.
Recommend a acid wash or wheel brightener to get a uniform finish then polish out. Metal polishing is a whole beast of its own. Texas metal polishing and Evan's have great information
A buddy of mine owns Almost Chrome and they polish trucks and busses all day every day with Renegade and Zephyr polishes. That's some serious work that goes into making them look like mirrors.
@@bubbalycans5828 he may be by now. It's been a while since I've talked to him. I'm sure he tries different things and changes us based on the results. He's definitely the man when it comes to metal polishing.
I'm sure this has been said but, the reason for the aluminum not being cleared up is the direction you were going. But practice makes perfect 😉. Sometimes the aluminum needs sanded and that will give an extra pop. It's night and day because you are removing all oxidation and defects.
I have their Rebel Landslide and that product is awesome specially for Jeeps or different 4x4's used offroad and for cars at the fender carpets. Unbelievable product!
Turned out Great Jason. Part of my job at Schock's Towing is maintaining the trucks cleanliness. And the mass amounts of metal on these trucks have been quite the chore lately. I used to enjoy doing the metal polishing, but I think it's the products I am using that is making me not look forward to it anymore. Not necessarily slacking, but moreso the products I'm using. Just doesn't get the correct shine I'm looking for. I'm going to have to try out this Red Rebel Aluminum and Forged kits. Also definitely need to get a Dewalt polisher as well.
Definitely watch Evan Steger's videos for tips on technique. Love your videos dude. You will get mint results with those products and with less effort once you master or copy his techniques. Cheers from Yatala Truck Detailing, Gold Coast Australia.
You may have been able to fit a Fritz polish ball with a drill back there using a drill rotary extension cable and metal polish liquid... just a thought. We do this at our shop
What gets steel mill crud off the truck I think it's Quick lime it sets up like concrete. I'm getting the truck washed once a week. But the spots they miss It is building up.its a newer truck got allot of polished aluminum.
It appears that the "Forged" solution does a better job than all the rest and works in all the angles of the truck. Why waste time and changing out rotor heads when Forged can do all of the cleaning and shining in one pass.
Like u said bro, alot of work. But maybe this tip may help just a bit. You can use the front of the wheel, (to an extent) Not just The edge. I fully get why one would use it as you are. & of course you can't use it flat. But, you can use a bit of the front which will save you a little bit of work on the shoulders and ceps.. plus, will allow you to get a bit more "bite ". By applying pressure and flexing the wheel
What do you do for PVD fake chrome? I searched your videos and nothing returned for PVD. I bought my 2015 Ford F-150 last year that had several black spots on the "chrome" rims that I thought was plasti-dip that someone had coated them with and hadn't gotten completely off. A month after I got it and had time for a proper detail, I found out it was chips in this PVD coating, this was after I had started to use a chrome polish on them. After finding out online they weren't chrome, I've used the normal paint scratch removal with 101 and 102 and other things without very good results. And no idea what to do to hide the chips. My searches show I could send in the rims and have them re-PVD'd, but I don't have the money for that or for other rims to put on the truck or have it sitting for that time with no wheels. Maybe you could do a video on how to handle this "chrome", as it is supposed to be 80% lighter than real chrome and promoted by manufacturers as better than chrome and probably used a lot more in the future. It would be great to see the proper way to clean, polish, protect and handle blemishes on them. Thanks, Randy Ragon, Porter IN.
Good video bud..on your fuel tank, should've sand it first you would've had better results..I did the same thing you did my very fist time..that kit is awesome..👊🏿
Jason I know this question has nothing to do with this vid. My friends truck has a shit ton of tar spray on the lower part of his truck. What is the best method to remove it. Thx
Sorry I had to laugh when you grabbed the machine and went mayhem on the tank..lol.. I salute for you for trying and recording it with no knowledge on metal polishing.. Definitely separates the men from the boys??. Salute ...
It’s cool to see you do something different and out of the norm - looks awesome and seemed like a lot of work for just the one side. Maybe hook up with lamb of god and do a collaboration next time you hit some metal.
When you say “Peterbilt” say it loud and proud. Say it with your chest🎩Best truck brand hands down💯
And thats why we charge upward of 1200 or more to do most full trucks.
No joke man this was a lot of work.

When polishing, prep makes a big difference. I usually start with sanding with 400 then hit it with the brown rouge youll get a mirror finish

Nice to see you try something out of your comfort zone. Thanks for sharing!
Make sure your cutting and coloring left and right on your tanks. Keep buffing wheel up and down.

You are missing the rake for the buffing wheel.

I think pieter is using time to shine products from even steger I could be wrong though

Beautiful Peterbilt, I detail all of my parents semis and man does it suck but outcome is always worth it

You have to sand if you want a mirror finish Jason .
Looks pretty good for not sanding it

What do you mean it turned out great that looks absolutely fucking horrible I wouldn't be able to charge $30 for that

Couldn’t imagine having to do a semi
its hard work!
i could b wrong but i think the red pro kind of cuts and polished on its own, the regular red is part of the more involved process
You may have been able to fit a Fritz polish ball with a drill back there using a drill rotary extension cable and metal polish liquid... just a thought. We do this at our shop
The intro was great!
You guys should experiment with putting xpel on high polished aluminum.
I really metal, but I never how to really clean it, this video I exactly what I’ve been looking for
for the initial polish its worth pullin the stack its only a few bolts, then it makes it easier to polish that to
Informative. Liked
Watched truck detailing videos and all my muscles started cramping up.
sick intro bro . good vid
this was super interesting... and for some reason it's cool that yr learning with us....
What gets steel mill crud off the truck I think it's Quick lime it sets up like concrete. I'm getting the truck washed once a week. But the spots they miss
It is building up.its a newer truck got allot of polished aluminum.
I highly recommended autosol metal polish. Few different types combined with medium to soft pads excellent finish on the DA machine.
Tip for next time, start om something small like a can of juice not a big rig , great video 👍 😀
Great song tracks on this one. Also great work!
we appreciate it!

Texas metal polishing and gold standard polishing guys have good videos on how to get it shining
Do y’all do classes on polishing?
When you’re cutting the slower you go the better you can make aluminum look just as good with one step rather than 3
Hi Jason, way to go on all that metal! It was a long day of labor, makes you a better Boss at the shops.
What a job ! What do you think of Belgom chrome instead of theese products ?
I hit the like button just for the intro. Everything else was gravy
So how DID you end up polishing the end of the fuel tank that was in an awkward position? Did it come out like the rest?

Use this www.carsupplieswarehouse.com/products/gtc-w7-tar-glue-remove
I do this all day every day
Next time open the hood. Makes washing easier. Was an over the road trucker for several years
2nd from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷
Beautiful pete 389. You should do a coating on that thing !
You want to help!? This thing is a beast.
@@ChicagoAutoPros 😂 I don't mind Jason let's do it!!! Fly me out you got a yourself a deal lol
How much it cost to polish each tire with you?
Yeah, def saved for later lol
Note to self - learn to headbang
Sorry I had to laugh when you grabbed the machine and went mayhem on the tank..lol.. I salute for you for trying and recording it with no knowledge on metal polishing.. Definitely separates the men from the boys??. Salute ...
I bet it was weird looking how they did the intro without the music hahaha
Can i have your kits after your done with them.
Dude! You can’t charge enough to do that!
That tank is definitely a shop 4 man job.....
If you want a mirror finish you gotta sand it.
More detailing seasons
It’s cool to see you do something different and out of the norm - looks awesome and seemed like a lot of work for just the one side. Maybe hook up with lamb of god and do a collaboration next time you hit some metal.
Is that the new ride...
Polishing metal sucks, much less a semi. Kudos to you for all the effort.
it was definitely harder than it seemed!
Note to self: powder coat shit instead of having to polish anything metal ever.
you dont have to hand wash it a semi
A dinky little face mask?!? You need a 3M mask with air filters.
Why just use the side of the pad and not the bottom like how you would use an angle grinder?
This video had more pauses with all the advertising than pauses in a Bidens speech lol. I take the tanks off when I used to polish.
Go polish some METAL!!!! - Find all the products I used here bit.ly/32iaN03
The technique needs some work lol
You literally have no idea what you’re doing
