Gerrard is regarded by many people as the greatest English/ premier league midfielder to ever play the game. I personally prefer Scholes, but I can see the sheer impact Gerrard had on his Liverpool side! I just don’t break down a midfielder impact to goals and assists alone…
@@ilorisamson4274 Lampard is the least of the three but still a legend in his own right. He played the game much differently than the other two. In terms of premier league I also think Toure at his peak was an all time great. Now De Bruyne is pushing new levels. If I had to make a list it would be hard. There are so many underrated legends as well like David Silva, Ozil, Fabregas, and Bergkamp. Old legends as well like Bobby Carlton I’d have to say tho, Scholes, Gerrard, and De Bruyne are a level above the rest….
All of them are brilliant Zidane was a great dribbler and ball shooter,Xavi was a passing beast and ball winner, Kroos was just so precise with passing, Pirlo was a well rounded midfielder with ball composure Gerrard was a goal scoring midfielder with a bit of defensive solidity but i pick Xavi because he was better at his peak
Xavi and Scholes should be here. I also wanna say that outright numbers don’t always explain the impact a midfielder has. Goals, assists, and trophies don’t always show how many passes and movements a midfielder impacted through their career.
Good video. Only midfielder in history with more G/A contributions than Gerrard is Lampard, but he played further forward a lot more often. Gerrard played for a majority of his career. The 2 of them are only midfielders in history with 400+ G/A. I think Ballack and Van der Vaart are the closest but still substantially behind. DeBruyne is on pace to get close. Also, Gerrard scored 16 freekicks, not 10.
Gerrard also played number 6, and his metrics can be compared to Kanté, Makele and other classical and famous number 6. I mean tackles, clearances, ball recoveries, challenges, distance covered.
WHO'S THE BEST⁉
@@factualanimation Kroos
Wow!!! I never knew Gerrard was this good 😮

Do you see anything concerning Xavi in this video you commented on ?
