  • I put the guts of my Crux35 into an AOS 3.5 V5 frame. Lets see how it flies
I'm also using a ND filter for the first time, let me know how it looks and how I can improve the grading.

As soon as the video went live I noticed just how red the footage looks. Definitely something to work on for next time.

Try shutter speed 1/30, iso 100 with the 32 ND filter for bright sun, 16 for over cast, or 8 for a dull day. The slower shutter speed helps for a cinematic feel (if that's what you want). The ND filters aren't particularly neutral so before flying shoot a white (or better, an 18% grey) card so you can properly white balance in post. Or 1/60 shutter and either double the iso or half the ND filter. Here it looks like your shutter speed is too fast and the lack of motion blur is a bit jarring.

@@BadAtDrones They're only suggestions on things to consider! I find manual settings a bit of a pain to get right because the brightness of the weather is obviously so variable but it's difficult to check before flying that the settings are correct. But auto-exposure doesn't look so good when you fly between lighter and darker regions.

Understood. :) I'm super keen to up my editing game so your advice is greatly appreciated. I think one of my next steps needs to be getting off openshot and onto something like Davinci Resolve
