I often drive past one of these 8 wheel Panhards, parked outside the French army artillery division barracks in Draguignan. In late September, from my house in the village of Tourtour, up in the Var mountains, I hear the artillery practicing in the Camp de Canjuers, a large military exercise area, a bit north of me. I am guessing that it would be quite difficult to source a running flat 12 gasoline engine, which I believe was 12 cylinders, pistons and con rods from a flat twin Panhard Dyna car mounted on a flat 12 crankcase and with a custom crankshaft. Would you like me to talk to the artillery museum people in Draguignan and ask if they know where an engine might be sourced in France?
That was a transformation all right. From a rusty pile of French Garbage to a Pretty good looking pile of french garbage. They certainly were unique and it makes an excellent addition to the collection. The guys did a great job..
You can tell that the Frenchmen who built the Panhard EBR-90 took a lot of pride in the work and were masters at their craft. French engineering is always so unique and impressive. It's so cool that we have one on display in Australia.
I think it’s bloody wonderful that you boys get paid to rebuild these old relics back to museum quality for the public to look at whilst you just have fun. Great job again lads
Amazing rebuild, guys. It's nice to see another vehicle saved from the scrap heap. Much better in a museum where people can get up close and appreciate them.
>FULL RESTORATION For a second I thought you were announcing that it was to be _fully_ restored to running condition. Still, very nice to see this machinery rebuilt as far as it is.
To recreate the lines & curves of this vehicle back into shape is just mind blowing. Looking at the twisted, rusted, random pile of sheetmetal they started with, I can't imagine how the Ausarmour guys managed to reshape all the bits into an armoured car! Brilliant!
Nothing short of pride in your work displayed here. Determination, sense of integrity, commitment to detail, not to mention years of hard work and dedication to the craft. Well done lads.
absolutely a big thumbs up for the craftsmanship displayed while restoring these badly beat up vehicles.. it is amazing to see what you guys can do with a couple of (what really are) wrecks!
How Daryl & Jesse figure out how these mangled wrecks piece together is simply astounding! Daryl's comment about Al was classic Aussie banter at 14:51! "This is the good thing about having old people here, he might have had a pet dinosaur but he's got bloody good ideas." 😁 - well said. The (Frankenstein) EBR-90 sure came a long way, well done by all involved!
Very clever the French with two drivers (one each end) so that they just as fast in either direction ,as "Oddball" said in the movie Kelly's Hero's, "get out of trouble as fast as they got into it"
Several armoured cars had that feature, i think there is an italian one with dual steering in the imperial War Museum in Johannesburg South Africa. For use in mountainous areas where u can't turn around on single lane tracks.
I imagine the job of, "Tank Restorer" is on the fantasy wish list of all young boys and most real men. Thank you Gentlemen for letting us watch your work.
You bloakes are effing bloody miracle workers! I could watch the metal work all day long. I know how bloody difficult it all is but because of the knowledge everyone has as well as dome bloody brilliant editing, it looks easy and fun. Nonetheless you fellers do a bit of amazing outstanding work and I absolutely love these vids. Thank you all for all you do!
You guys put a lot of hard work into these restorations and it shows in brilliant work, it's great to watch these videos and see what goes into these museum pieces and it lends a true appreciation for the effort and lengths you go to in order to bring these vehicles to display. Keep up the great work.
Absolutely astonishing. These tanks are the bane of my life playing world of tanks lol. Truly amazing work from all of the team, epic actually!! Keep up the great work guys! Stay safe and stay well.
Very enjoyable video this panel beaten Panhard EBR-90. It is great to watch the weekly installments stitched together in this full-length feature. Well done to all at the Museum.
God bless you hard working gentlemen. You're doing a service to all those who were involved in creating such impressive machines by restoring them to their former glory, and you're doing an even bigger service to those who want to see history kept alive to be appreciated and not repeated!
Wow, what a great job, I don't know what scarier, those tight tight jeans, Daryls "Commando" attire, or the fact that they pounded all the twisted metal into something with curves vaguely resembling a 1970 Renault "Le Car". Well done!
Engels Coach Shop has a master of recreating wagons of the old west out of a jumbled mess of rotten wood and bent iron. You are the masters of armor. You should meet each other.
Look forward to Workshop Wednesdays no matter what is being shown or done im a simple man and get pleasure from simple things in life luke watching someone unbolt or bolt things or banging metal back into shape . ❤
That mudguard really looks like a handkerchief that was in somebody’s pocket too long. Unbelievable that they got that flattened out! That took a lot of energy to fold it up, but more to make it straight again.
From where you started to where you got to, it is, simply miraculous! Superb hammer wielding in extremis to say the least. Absolutely superb, as fro the cutting in of new parts, that was pure skill. Thanks from UK
love seeing this again - a very ambitious project - an unusual vehicle and a great example French things rarely interest me, but this is an exception to the rule, happily looks 100% better than it did previously
As an owner of French cars for many years, with Diesel Engines, I know that French mechanical parts are made to a high standard. Actually better than my former German cars, also with Diesels.
I saw it last Sunday - the reality is better than the pictures show - all who had a hand in the rebuild should be very pleased with themselves.. Good onya
These videos are great. Only thing I personally would ask is a short 2 or 3 minute history of the vehicle beforehand so we have an idea of age and everything. Especially on something as obscure as this.
hopefully more spares and components for this come up in the future, its such an interesting little vehicle. Would make a great running display if it became possible
Wow what a Job looks like it had seen some battles you mates made it look presentable, it makes a good static display thanks for taking us along on the whole of the project
That was AMAZING, I love watching your work & I'd love to come and see you in person but being in England it takes a bit of thinking of how to do it so for now I'm really glad of your postings, Thanks...
ahhh c'est Français, ca, Monsieur!!! du solide, du bien conçu! du temps ou nous avions une industrie armurière digne de ce nom....magnifique travail de restauration, même si ce n'est que pour une exposition..bravo
Bloody fantastic guys to see this old war machine sitting there as proud as punch. your on my bucket list for sure not this year hopefull next year for open day
Great exhibit as it is. But seeing it rolling towards the museum it is so distinctive on the move. Worth revisiting when you run out of stuff to work on. Great compilation Kurt and congrats to the guys for their effort and bonhomie. Are they really like that all the time or just when the camera appears? 😉
Î was in in one of then during mine french service in 1973 ... lots of memories
in 1973 .. lots of mémoires
....cool
What was your experience with the vehicle? Anything of note?
What was your role inside it?

The French copy no one, and no one copies the French
Reason for that 😅
How do we know the french are terrible drivers? Look at how much body work was needed to get it even half decent!😂🤣
@@paulorchard7960it was used on a firing range for years! Its not going to be pristine😂😂👍

What's the saying? “The French copy no one and no copies the French”!
French Engineering??? LOL Oxymoron.
@@06colkurtz Nah, when they get enough baguettes they can make some real beauties like the Mirage or their insane heavy tanks.
Can't think of one thing past or present that is an example of good French engineering.

Visiting the Australian Armor Museum is definitely on my bucket list. Not only are the results of the restorations amazing, so is the team. Well done!

For a second I thought you were announcing that it was to be _fully_ restored to running condition.

I would not doubt that in the future they will take it out again and completely restore it. The base is very good
@@alanantoniobre189 Hopefully! The German machines are apparently more popular for most, but I love seeing non-German machines.
I think the highly unusual engine, gearbox and side drive system are the biggest barriers to it's completion!
great to see the summary all in one sitting. Well done again Daz and Jessie

This EBR vehicle is all stowage! Brilliant work. Thank you Aus Armour.
It just amazes me, the brilliant craftsmanship of the crew and what they can accomplish. Bravo fellas.

Looking forward to the magic that these two guys will put into this re-build, hope all goes well, best regards from a recent visitor, Les

ooooh! I've been waiting for this! I didn't think the Panhard was going to be restored at all. Happy days!
Wow, to turn all the mangled sheet metal back into something close to its original shape was amazing. Love to see this as a runner some day.
You really have to admire what these guys can do with A pile of scrap.
Great to see these full length documentaries. However no workshow Wednesday?

Always great to revisit a past project 😊

I love watching these programs, I love to get involved repairing
Using the corner of your welding table to place temporary jigs is genius 👍
collab with World of Tanks greatly needed for ya boys.
That is a cool little armored car. In it's day it appears it had quite the bite with either the 90mm or the 76mm main gun. Great job you guys.
Glad you Plan on revisiting it later to make it a running restoration

Great recap of the entire restoration.
Yay a video that's almost an hour long! Keep them coming :)
Loving the long format guys great work wish I could come join you
Magnificent job chaps. The EBR is one of my favourite AFV.
Great job. A big old hydraulic arbour press saves a lot of work when restoring bent out of shape panels like those mudguards 👍🏻
I hope you get it running fully operational would be awesome its too cool to keep as a static display
Holy moly. What a transformation

I am constantly amazed at the skill you guys have . Lucky you are on the Big bucks ay. 🤣 Thanks for saving another great peace from the scrap heap .
Great job as usual 👍👍👍
Well Done - Talented Team !!!
Was hoping for some markings to be painted on this one too! That's always the icing on the came for me :D
Great to be working as a team. I’m restoring a yacht but it’s hard going on my own.
Wishing you luck. Same here. Well… done it.
Hey Jason I reckon you ought to bring everyone in and run a lesson on correct procedures for hand signals.
I wonder if there was enough left of the unit markings to replace those as well. It looks a little "unrelenting green" at the moment. :)

Well done mates.

Thanks for saving this cool Panhard. Very French. 👍
Wow another great job guys really well done. From Daz and my dog Max. from the East coast of the UK. 🙂
Awesome JOB !
