While I envision home building becoming more and more automated, home remodeling and and repair are far from it.

I was thinking of doing a double major in electrical engineering and business. I love the business side of things more but engineering to me is a safer salary wise but idk if it would be smart to double major in both EE and business. I do understand that salary shouldn’t be the first thing you look at when deciding what you want to do but there has to be a balance between your love for it and comfortable living. So what do you think?

I disagree with most of these predictions. I think automated public security will take over police. Police have a lot to worry about as far as job security goes. When self driving cars take over, it will happen quickly. Traffic police will have no use. Self driving cars will be safer than any human driver ever could be. Eventually it won’t be legal to drive a car as you would be putting the public at risk. This will probably increase the average American lifespan by years, take a huge load off of Americans/be very good for the economy in many ways.
There is no job that a super intelligent AI couldn’t do or do better than any person. It’s just a matter of time. Capitalism is slowly killing itself and I think we will see it within our lifetime.

How interesting politicians wouldn't make their position replaceable... They sure do ensure their safety at all times huh.

    Interesting video!
Therapist: Not really a job most people can even think about pursuing, since it takes a certain type of person, and a pretty high educational requirement.. And actually, jobs like that COULD be done by an AI, a lot sooner than you might think.. One of the very first chatbots in existence, Eliza, was written to talk like a therapist. lol Emotional connection seems hard now, but we're already nearing AI that seems to understand rather complex concepts, emotion and human connection aren't as special as people generally think.
Leaders: If we automate away the jobs below leaders, why would we need those leaders to lead.. the robots? lol Plus that's like telling people to just become "owners".. Or expecting them to go straight to a manager position. The concept of leader/boss will change, maybe we'll just end up with do-ers, and maybe people will just become the decision makers..
The business of AI: Okay, sure, that's gonna be needed during the automation revolution.. But that either requires a ton of education in AI theories/programing, or requires already being a business owner, who's capable of making/purchasing robots/AI for their business, or making it their focus.
Politics: Sure, politicians will probably be around for a while.. but we really need to find a way that more people can get involved in decision making/volunteering, without struggling to pay their bills, and without the corporations pushing all the little guys out. Right now, most people have no say in most things. Maybe we SHOULD use an AI to manage politics, might end up getting everyone better results, and can't be bribed. heh
Creative Jobs: Finally! The one thing that's gonna remain accessible for most people to get into! Still, AI can do some of those jobs pretty darn good, but most people don't want things made by robot-creativity, they want things that other humans came up with.. So there's a good chance creative jobs will remain just because of human preference and culture.
Instructors/Coaches: Interesting suggestion, although becoming an expert in a topic, enough to become an instructor/teacher of it, can be rather difficult/time consuming, and often requires experience.. Which begs the question, how does one get that experience, and become an expert, when all the entry level positions are automated away..
Caretaker/health aid: A good one, but again, most people aren't necessarily suitable for such a personal job. Plus, with it being in such high demand.. There are aspects of caretaking that I can see a humanoid robot taking over someday, once their AI seems human enough.. But yes, these jobs will likely be around for a while.
Entertainers: Ok sure, but only a small percent of people have the popular-personality for that.. And at the moment, many of the things people could do to get into that, don't really provide any paycheck until they become popular enough. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, animated AI personalities may someday be good enough that people treat them like celebrity entertainers. I think we need a UBI so more people have a shot at creative/entertainer jobs without worrying about their survival.
Healthcare workers: Personally I would have listed this as part of caretakers/health aid section, same things I said apply.. But also, I think there's a lot of jobs within healthcare, that WILL be automated away, mostly just to make the doctor's job more efficient. Heck, there's a good chance that surgeons WILL eventually be automated (and already are), since a robot can have FAR greater accuracy with it's "hands" than a human doctor ever could be, and can get into FAR smaller areas, less invasively.
Law enforcement: Ya, to some degree, but also no.. A lot of these jobs won't be automated away entirely, but will greatly change. We won't need as many law enforcement, at least for traffic enforcement, if cars drive themselves.. People don't want robots holding the guns, but there are plenty of other aspects of the job which robots and AI can replace workers.
Making a job easier, also means making it easier to do with less people.. Certain jobs may not be automated away entirely, but will end up requiring far less people to achieve the same results.. And unlike previous industrial revolutions, I'm not sure what new things will pop up, for average people to do...

Why is it all the videos about jobs safe from automation list jobs that most people can't do or jobs that require a very specific personality to do. I wouldn't want someone that has little empathy caring for the elderly as example. We need to face facts that universal income is needed if we hope to transition to a largely automation world.
