I just rediscovered Evermore. They had a few great songs that had COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED from my memory until I was watching an old TV recording and it had Light Surrounding You for the channel
It’s funny that people in 2021 use the word nostalgic all the time. No disrespect. 😊 just find it used all the time now. I never use to see comments like that but I see them on nearly every early 2000s song I find.
My brother and I took a trip to the city in 2004. He had his laptop hooked up to the car(pre Iphone), he had a harddrive full of indie music he got from a friend. I started picking through it, I found this song, listened to hit 4-5 times while in the car. Spent a decade and a half trying to find the music meanwhile I was forever chasing this sound in other bands.
Still remember this one playing over the PA speakers at my first job. I was barely 15 then. I worked in a bakery factory and the day shift had finished, the floor was quiet and this song rang through the empty factory. I still have a visceral memory of being in that very moment and even though it was nearly 18 years ago I still remember it like it was yesterday. My dreams of that time in my life are always sweet and this number never fails to remind me of my home town.. Ah, time man..
So good! I remember hearing this song in Coles for the first time with my mum shopping- it was middle of summer and bloody hot. And whenever I hear this song now I think of that time, weirdly enough.
We are the same age. Crazy how fast time flies. Your parents tell you it does but it doesn’t really hit you until 30 and friends have kids turning double digits And your teen years feel like yesterday. Hope life’s been good to you x
@@leideningrid Oh absolutely. And it doesn't help that you're one of the few who hasn't shacked up and had kids like most people were programmed to do. Not having done those things leaves you feeling not much differently inside from those times really. Of course you grow and change but your soul is more or less the same. And life could be better but I'm working on it. Likewise and thanks for the message from Australia to Sweden I assume? Cheers.
It's never too late to appreciate a timeless song. First heard this in 2007 on the Ministry of Sound Annual - Dirty South remix. Love the orignal and it has always been there for me in times of despair and transition. May it resonate for years a with generations to come!
Was watching an ad in new Zealand tonight and heard the jingle. Had to find it. So glad I did. Been so long. I knew it was evermore but couldn't put my finger on what song it was from
@@bradensimpson6792 nah I read your comment wrong, I thought while you were watching NZ today you saw the ad, but you mean in NZ, that night, you heard the ad. My bad 😅
I KID YOU NOT! I have been trying to remember a lyric from this song for over 10 years so that I could find it! I'd even explain the music video to people, and they still didn't know. It was played in the shops 4-5 years ago but couldn't hear it properly, then a girl at boost was playing it, but I forgot the title she told me, and finally now! While searching for Thirsty Merc recent performances, I have been led to this treasure chest of my childhood!!!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't help when no one in your family or friendship group enjoy the same music as you....
I have spent nearly my whole teenage/adult life (about 15 years thus far) looking FOR THIS FUCKING SONG. Sitting on the floor right now crying I’ll admit, because I have searched and scoured the internet for every rendition I could possibly hum into ‘da da da’s in search engines. I have looked through every damn song ever released on sing star (atleast what was put online). I have scoured videos displaying old 2000’s hits aired on MTV in Australia from 2002-2006 multiple times now, and even gone so far as to delve into all the unknown songs of the world in various reddit threads - all to find only what I knew as ‘the cave song’ This morning, I am scrolling TikTok and come across a google ad about humming a song to find it out, much like Shazam which I have tried many a time with zero success. I skipped the damn ad, and not even 3 seconds later I am using this google application and humming my first line with the little ‘yeah’ at the end feeling HOPELESS AND LIKE A FOOL I TELL YOU. not even a second later, I am linked to this song as the number one hit and there was a punch to my gut - I had not been recommended this one before. Another 15 seconds, and I am a mess all over the floor because all of a sudden I am 4 years old again, scared and alone in a foster home and finding solace in this fucking music video on the sing star, during one of the rare moments I am alone and able to get away with using it. I had a lot of memories come back this morning, some good and some bad, but I am glad this song exists and you were able to change so many lives through this piece of art. It’s insane to believe that it has continued to hold this much space in my life up until this moment, and I cannot wait to enjoy it for every moment after 💜
My friend played this with me today. I hadn’t heard it since I was about 7 years old playing singstar with my sister. I’m 21 now. The nostalgia flooded back in. Awesome song.
Grew up to this song the greatest memory , fondest memories growing up school days , time flys it’s unbelievable goes by in a blink of an eye - haven’t heard this in 14 years
This song randomly came on on my Spotify and omggg the nostalgia! I haven’t heard it in well over 10-15 years I think ❤ had to see if I remembered the video clip.
"It's Too Late" Monday morning... hesitate, I can't get out of bed I'd rather go back to the dreams I'm living in my head Tuesday evening... pack my bags, I'm heading out the door I left a box of memories lying on the floor Ride on, ride till early morning sun Ride on, like the dawning of the day It's too late, to let all your feelings show Go on, til the night is swept away I'm running from the city lights I'm running from this empty life I'm running out of time tonight I'm screaming out for "Help! Help!" "Slow down, your moving too fast Go home, you'll feel better for it Oh boy, you better stop dreaming It's all in your head!" 'Cause it's too late now... I'm running out of time tonight
I'm screaming out for "Help! Help!"
"Slow down, your moving too fast
Go home, you'll feel better for it
Oh boy, you better stop dreaming
It's all in your head!"
