and it (probably) still discriminates the left handed mouse user, the first question the wizard should ask is the mouse button preference or automatically switch buttons when the user clicks the first time with their preferred mouse button, alternatively any mouse buttons click in setup should be accepted ...
Other things from this update is now you don't have to start out with wired kb/mouse and then switch to Bluetooth kb/mouse bc they've enabled pairing in the setup environment. Also, you can still set "pi" as the user and you can utilize the same username change wizard on an existing build. It isn't limited to a fresh setup. It also applies to "lite" builds. The change username wizard will also change the home folder name for you but keep in mind some software and code may have been written hard coded with the”pi"username and home folder location.
With wayland on pi does not attend wireless keyboard, not support it... Only shortcut works like "alt+ctrl+t" BIG shame, big problem. I had to put operation system whole again.. with wayland off cause couldn't apply hitting enter when I copied raspi-config command cause enter did not detected Big shame!
You'd have to try it. Right I'd lean towards probably not because this implementation of Wayland is not fully functional. In the blog post it says that for now with the Wayland support being experimental, it's mostly using X over Wayland. It doesn't say exactly how extensive it is.
I have a problem in Wayland on Ubuntu 22.04 running on Pi 400 whenever i run videos in full screen on RUclips the mouse works weirdly and sometimes the chromium window becomes unresponsive so i switched to X11 on Ubuntu 22.04 and now everything is going fine
Interesting.. maybe later on it will improve. Also cool channel you have! I’ve seen a few of your videos about the Phytium PC :) It looks like an ARM powerhouse.
@@Lukes-Tech Thanks. The Phytium can play RUclips in 1440p without hardware acceleration. I just received a Rockchip RK3588 device, but the software still has some bugs. I'm also expecting a lot from the RK3588, but that probaably means we have to stick with Android to get the most out of it (closed source drivers).
@@LivingLinux Wow 1440p without hardware acceleration is good! Ooh cool, I'm excited about the RK3588, especially the Rock 5. I wish these chips ran Linux better than Android though, but it's always the opposite..
Hey dude!! The title of your post is misleading. You mean Wayland makes the RPi "modern", and then all thru' the demo/review, you show us Wayland sucks! What gives?
Thanks to Chris64674 for letting me know about this update!

Wayland on rpi os? That's amazing. You should compare glmark2-es2 against glmark2-es2-wayland . You will see the diff
Yeah, I should have tested that in the video, it would have been interesting to see.
Thanks for sharing !

My question is, how about python using Tkinter and Wayland? Seeing as the Pi is a popular platform for python coded projects, I think it's relevant.

That’s strange.. it doesn’t seem like wayland brings tons of improvement to the table on the Pi4 anyway (at least yet).
It sucks, why not Gnome 42 on raspberry piOS?
Strange. My Pinebook Pro has better RUclips playback with Wayland. I was expecting the same with Pi's.

I was thinking that “Wayland” being added to Raspberry Pi OS, whether it’s good or bad now, still makes it more modern like other Linux distros.
