I love how you included the vintage Nevele TV commercial at the beginning and then the music part at the end. It's just sad that such a beautiful place couldn't have continued as a vacation destination for families. You can tell it was once a great place. Seeing those beds with blankets and pillows on them makes me wonder about the very last time they were made. I wonder what the thoughts of the staff, or even the very last guests were. Could they ever have imagined they would be the last ones there and that the place would close forever? I hate seeing all of the graffiti and vandalism but you captured some good footage. Did you happen to grab any brochures or other literature while there? Thanks for sharing your adventures.
i 100% agree with everything u said man. It is absolutely so sad to see such a beautiful, happy place be left to rot, be trashed, and vandalized. I really don't understand why people have to vandalize such beauty but unfortunately it's not under my control. Thanks for watchin the video btw! I am gonna be posting more explorations soon.
This was my first explore back in 2018. I happened to be staying next door at the Honor's Haven and then while in town during dinner I walked into a shop and struck up a conversation with the shop owner and she filled in some gaps. So the very next morning I was walking around The Nevele. I will tell you this, the pool was pristine clean that morning (have the pics too!) The place had obviously been combed through and there was some broken glass and light graffiti here and there, but nothing like the last two years. I've gone back three more times since then and it's just gotten progressively worse, which is a real shame. You went into a couple of spots I've yet gone to. One day I'll brave the stairs and make it up to LBJ room and the roof! Would love to do the tunnels that connect the different buildings but the steep darkness, flooding and mold are definitely a deterrent. Great video!
I know this place really is getting destroyed. I was there two days ago and its dripping water in many spots and the vandalism is getting worse and worse, I don't get it. My last trip up there I stayed at Honors Haven as well and at 6 in the morning I got up and went to Nevele by walking up the Honors haven path and I found an opening in the fence and I went up on the roof for the sunrise. Even though it was foggy it was amazing. I would totally recommend checkout out the tower and roof and all the other buildings in the resort. Nevele really is sick!
@@lcexplores6222 Ah that's awesome. We always stay at Honors when we're in town overnight. I went up the weekend we had gotten hit with the snow storm. I would have loved to gone to it then. I've seen some amazing shots of the main building common areas iced over. But I didn't bring any camera equipment cause it would have been a difficult trek. I'm still trying to wrap up my posts from my Halloween walk through. I get disappointed when I go and I see more destruction, but then days and weeks later I find myself wanting go back. LOL I got a couple of other places in mind to check out, just need to plan better.
