I carry a small waterproof cooler bag in the back basket filled with a few handy items from a air pump to a brick... None of which wouldn't mind being frozen for a while as I like my drinks cold... The brick on its narrow side is just the right height to mount the two halves together or for separation...
I live in a mobile home park for retired seniors and this would be ideal for all the ladies who can't drive anymore; to get groceries, get some air and exercise, and the fact that it comes apart means you can put it into the back of a car easily. Trouble is, for the manufacturers, this age group isn't on the net and doesn't know about this kind of thing yet. Need to advertise in AARP type magazines.
I agree. This is a gift to the baby boomer generation. I can't wait to have one and go to my neighborhood swap meet ,it's perfect, not bulky to walk around inside the swap meet.
cool, would be good for the older retired rider to get about. the folding aspect seems more geared toward shipping and longer storage in a house/garage/shed with limited space than day to day folding..overall a good option for those who like the idea of a trike but may need to bring it into their homes.
Love your reviews! Big thanks and keep them coming. Could you include a decent length shot of scenery whizzing by when you do them. It's hard to get a sense of what it's like to ride when all the shots are of the wheels, display, etc.
I love the new 2019 model Liberty electric tricycle for $1500.00. Made in USA frame. Compact, folds & separates for easy transport, fits apartment doors with 26" wide handle bar, 24" rear wheels, 750 watts gearless, quiet motor, 36 v lithium ion battery charges for 3 hrs, front disc brake, rear break, reverse mode, walking mode, parking break, easy twist throttle, five power levels, coaster break back pedal to activate, carries up to 400 lbs, parking break latch, chain tensioner, rear and pedal reflectors, large LCD display, micro usb port, steel chain cover. Comes in different colors of black, red, yellow, pink, orange, teal, navy blue. I hope to buy one soon. The current 2019 Liberty electric trike review states that the new model has been modified & errors corrected such as loose controller, quirky power on sequence, new rear steel basket, folding battery key, motor cable protector. I'm excited to buy one soon.
Love your videos. Unfortunately I have a muscle wasting disease and very poor balance I've recently starting researching these electric trikes. I was wondering could you maybe do a video on any disabled friendly trikes you have reviewed or have seen? Thanks
How does the Liberty trike do on off road? I'm interested in using it on my land to ride and haul items on the fire lanes through the woods. Anyone know?
We no longer have access to this bike, but, take a look in our forums, tons of active users will likely have the solution! forums.electricbikereview.com/
Is this intended to be more of a scooter or more of a pedaled trike for exercise and transportation? Also, is there a way I can try it out before buying it?
I like the liberty bike but I like that top that I can turn in lean into a turn it just makes things sound so much safer anyway it's closer to Christmas are you going to have that if so I'll wait to buy one
The trick would be perfect if it leaned into the turns because it's so narrow which is great because it gets through the door easily for an old person however if it leaned into the turns that would make it fantastic and the perfect little bike for any older person think about it
It takes more than a glancing blow of your foot or leg, it requires a mounting effort to engage the quick release... On the other hand that reverse/forward button is sensitive, handle that throttle hand grip carefully...
In some places u can buy nearly 3 or 4 automobile for price of these E-Bikes. Don't get me wrong i love the concepts of these alternate forms of transportation however the prices need to come down. They need to bypass big oil politics in order to get the product out there and more readily available to those who need this mode of transportation the most. The one thing that bothers me the most tho in this day an age is that we still use wheels and petroleum with all the advanced technology available and suppressed. Take for instance suppressed technologies like Electromagnetic Hover technology that one could use to fly/hover and Zero Point Energy Generators that could b used to create on demand energy without the use for big clunky batteries and the need to plug into an electrical source that could remove the addiction of wheels and petroleum. With all that said the E-Bike revolution is a good start tho.
There are several solid trikes to choose from, they tend to weigh a bit more but I'm sure they're sturdier without the folding feature. Was impressed though with the 400 lb riding capacity :)
This was designed more to serve as a mobility aid to some of us seniors. If you don't need to go through doorways, wider e-trikes less prone to tipping at speed are available.
Maybe make it 20 in that way it gives it more height it's not so tiny cars can see it better you can pedal it more like a bicycle and if it was if you leaned on it like a bicycle and it was the 20 inch then you that would be perfect perfect check it out see if it works for you guys I'm thinking it would work for me
Don't go turning around corners at full speed, slow down! I have no problems with making sharp corners at the throttle set at two, instead of at warp speed at five... Gee whiz, this isn't rocket science, just good old common sense!
It kind of is, you can fold it but that only changes the length, the bars and wheel still take up a lot of space. I don't think I'd actually take the thing completely apart often but it's nice that you can, probably similar in effort to taking off all of the wheels if they had quick release as long as you have a friend to help hold it up when re-assembling
A few years later the Liberty trike was available for less than $1500, but alas lately inflation has kicked in this past year and they're now less than $1600.
Everything you said means the price should be cheaper. no peddle assist means running down battery quickly. it is not a car. $1200 total better price including shipping would be in the ball park for cheep made etrike! if you want to charge more add pedal assist, and needs mor gears. no sale, there are better made ones like the worksman etrike thats cheaper than this, better reputation company!
I have lost nearly 50 pounds in the past year pedaling with the throttle set at two going up a grade, and not using the throttle at all when going down a grade. I am very happy pedaling going a speed of 5 mph riding with my dog in the back basket in the fresh air. So is my dog very happy riding with me. We don't have to set the throttle at five going twice as fast... Every door my Liberty desires to go through does, knock on wood... Something larger and faster e-trikes can't...
Thanks for this review. This trike may be perfect for a family member with some mobility issues.

Yeah, considering the trike is still rated for ~400 lbs I'd rather have folding than not, even if I don't use it all the time :)

I think it's overpriced. Slow. Not off road. Steel vs aluminum. But you did a great job pointing out its assets.
@EBR.. Thanks man, I enjoy watching your videos all the time, you're an excellent host! :-)

Nice review. What kind of trike was that at 18:15 that you compared it to at the end?
Review coming soon stay tuned. Revolve trike

hey, do you know if soldering iron and solder would work to make my 18650 battery pack or do i need a spot welder?
Something I want to know about the gear for the rear wheel, does it come with differential gear?

Will I be able to lean into a turn ? I love that thought

thanks for the video is it available in the UK ? hope so.
what happens if your foot hits the quick release ?

Hi thanks for the video , could I get one in the UK ? hope so .
I very much doubt it as I cannot get one in Canada even though I'm in a part of Canada that is only a few hours by road from the manufacturer.
libertytrike will ship to anywhere in the world at your expense...
Can this liberty trike be shipped to Australia?
My guess is no. I say that because they can't/won't ship it to Canada.
libertytrike will ship to anywhere in the world at your expense...
Salve, vorrei dire che dove posso comprare ed quanto costa "Trike Electric Tricycle" GRAZIE ???? Io sono di ROMA (ITA)........
libertytrike.com
Shipping was 45
Plus TAX
Went up 200 bucks ...
Other companies don't tax...
Shipping included...
Naw.. I need something more sturdy, but I like the design, except for the folding feature.

Thats very cool but I would still stick with my jorvik trike
Nice little trike, but not two grand nice.
Larger e-fat tire trikes are sold at more than twice this price... Unlike my Liberty trike, every door my trikes desires to go through does...
Maybe make it 20 in that way it gives it more height it's not so tiny cars can see it better you can pedal it more like a bicycle and if it was if you leaned on it like a bicycle and it was the 20 inch then you that would be perfect perfect check it out see if it works for you guys I'm thinking it would work for me
They have upgraded the Liberty trike with 6 inch cranks instead of the original 4.5 inch cranks. Pedals much easier although still at a single gear.
So my store is 12 miles down the street so it would take an hour their and an hour back and 30 mins to shop. no way
Price range please
Today around $1600 plus shipping and taxes...
Temos c concertar aqui no brasil
It's around $1,600 now not $1,998 back when this video was made.
like this bike
It will tip when turning makes it unstable and dangerous. it does not fold.
Don't go turning around corners at full speed, slow down! I have no problems with making sharp corners at the throttle set at two, instead of at warp speed at five... Gee whiz, this isn't rocket science, just good old common sense!
I just want to fold a folding bike, not to have to take them apart. Looks very awkward.

@@ElectricBikeReview I carry a brick I use for mounting the trike when joining and separating the two halves... Another person may not be available...
2000 USD for a joke ? are they serious ? is it April?
A few years later the Liberty trike was available for less than $1500, but alas lately inflation has kicked in this past year and they're now less than $1600.
I am interesting in Ebikes/Canopy E bikes
They should move the controller bellow the battery. Looks like there is plenty of space.
Yeah, with the updated version especially, the pack is much shorter so there appears to be room :)
There is nothing wrong where the controller is now. I pedal all of the time with no problems with the controllers location...
2000 US, Notaway! maybe $700.00 US
Even mobility scooters in the USA can run as much as the Liberty trike, but provide no pedals at all for exercise.
I want this bike but I cannot afford it☹️😔😢
Seat can be made more comfortable
Bicycle seats are sold at every store that sells bicycles...
that is cool
not continuous - You mean contiguous USA
16 inch wheels ridiculous. Too small.

If they did with this what Sondors did with their ebikes they would have sold more. being price greey will keep demand down.
Eye on art k
Yep... Worksman is a great brand...
why???
Looks cheap
Unsturdy
I guess---- they now are manufacturing this one instead...

Very ugly and simple design. Over[priced..

There is no pedal assist so no sale.

I figured he was in front of the bike shop he does not own that trike!
First?
You win! I will answer a question for you... got one?!
+ElectricBikeReview.com nah no electric bikes for me I want a stealth bomber or even bike tho
@@chrisholstine7838 You would probably prefer a Harley...
It seems cheap made 😢
This guy when he is at another bike shop will down this bike like he did the Sondors!
DiBlasi R34 is another, real easy, foldable e-trike. This Liberty folding...pff
He did say more like separate and join the two halves...
