This soundtrack is definitely Frank's most complete work. Other soundtracks of his do specific things better, but Red Alert 1 is the GOAT because you get every aspect of Klepacki's genius in one package.
I'm glad there are other people out there who totally understand. Frank dabbles in a lot of different genres and seems to kick ass in every single one of them.
"Soon we will stand, soon we will stand, soon we will stand, Invincible!" That sums up the latter 90's for me. The Retaliation mix of Crush is just such a jam.
Frank Klepacki, one of the best composers to appear in games. I miss Westwood studios so much, man! Love play C&C Red Alert - Retaliation on my PSOne, back in the day! xDD
Red Alert 2 is still great as it is. I don't think it needs a remaster. Give it an official proper widescreen patch, and that's all. (maybe polish a bit on the FMVs)
Do look up the C&C Red Alert Trailer. It uses Face The Enemy 1 in a perfect cinematic. As great as the intro to the game is, I wish they used the trailed in the actual game it was so good.
I remember how disappointed I was that Fogger 54:19 was omitted from the official Red Alert published soundtrack CD. The remaster/remake is incredible - one of the best chillout tracks in any game... I close my eyes and I see Ore Trucks mining ore in the snowy fields.
I heard the story behind it. It appears that Frank Klepacki lost the "source code" of the Fogger, so he couldn't produce it in a CD quality for the soundtrack release. Many years later he re-recorded the Fogger track somehow more or less close to the original and released it as mp3.
Indeed such a vibey song. Now that I listen to it I realize i had it in my head from time to time over the last decade and always thought it's some electronic music I used to listen to haha. Best game soundtrack for sure C&C 1&2
Fogger at 54:19 Trenches at 2:35:49 Fogger seems to be remade whereas Trenches is just remastered quality. Would have loved if Trenches received the Fogger treatment!
I would actually prefer the opposite, if both tracks were carefully remastered in a high quality but with the original synths and sound effects. Trenches is perfect as it is. Sadly, the source code of the original Fogger, Menu theme and Snake seems to have been lost.
The CnC Retaliation music has a special place in my CnC heart. I played it a lot on my PSX. The Hell March & Crush remixes are best part of music from RA.
In the same boat. Played the shit out of skirmish mode even when the game would lag down to single-digits (usually due to too many "instructions" running in the game instance). Love the franchise.
Same, I used to play the game around 1998. I haven't heard the music since then. After listening to these awesome musics a few months ago I've purchased the remastered collection !
I remember being at Walmart with my dad when this game caught my eye for PS1, and he got it for me. I went home to play it and I was like "what kind of game is this?" I didn't understand it. I tried to figure it out though, and when I finally did I couldn't put the game down. I loved it, such a fantastic game. Makes me Uber nostalgic to hear this soundtrack. Leaves me with a sense of longing to be that kid again getting the game for the first time.
That was basically my story except it was C&C 64. lol Fast forward 15 years and I recreated it in the form of Tiberian Dawn Redux on an upgraded C&C Generals engine. Now I am doing the same for Red Alert.
Man, I forgot how much I loved Fogger. I used to play that one constantly back in the day. Here I am grooving to it all over again. I always loved the soft piano in it.
1:28:33 Mud Retaliation Remix is easily my favorite from the OST. It'd always play at the right time back then playing on the PS1. So glad the songs from Retaliation are in the Remastered game.
Man, I've been jamming to the Magfest and the original ost before launch. Now that I ran through the game and beat the campaign, I am excited to see if EA starts remastering other titles. Tiberian Sun, Dune 2000, and of course Red Alert 2
They're going in 'generation' packs. RA2 and TA (and the expansions) will be in the next bunch, then the Generals series, CNC3 and RA3 after that... Don't think they did RA4.
This was my childhood game... and I can't believe listening to them as a standalone track feels so weird without all the screaming and shouting and dying and explosions and electrocuting happening all over the place!
haha a space marine who like commies ? i'm sure you're a tau spy :p yea i love Stalin' actor voice, he sounds.. not very sure of himself, i like it i like to imagine Stalin in doubt, and paranoid and all cuz he's old
Have you heard of Under Midnight? It is a band from the early 90's...A lot of similarities... They produced 2 albums....They are a worthy listen...Thanks for uploading this one...I'm going to listen to it when I work in my shop...So many elements that keep my interest, with a drive to it that makes me think, and move...
To be honest I kind of wish more tracks were remade rather than just remastered. Snake, Fogger and Await/Afterlife sound especially great now, I just wish other tracks got a similar treatment.
Hell March 1:13:47 (Retaliation Remix) probably the most spectacular screensaver with music for it from all PS1 games, even the "Syphon Filter" cannot be compared. Shut It - 2:03:15 Terminate 2:17:08 - 2:21:28 starts best rock moment my favorite parts, light metal with pleasant sound effects. (I don't even know what this style is called) I just don't like very heavy - dirty music.
God it's such a shame that they haven't managed to recover Mud and remake it, always loved that track. The rest of this soundtrack though is absolutely amazing. I love what they have done to Fogger. This... all of this... especially the amount of effort is very *very* much not like EA. And it is highly appreciated. Doesn't redeem EA of course but hey what's good is good and this is good.
Its confirmed. Hell march for the win. 6 month baby was crying. Started playing hell march.. baby calmed right down and started to smile. Givem' hell boys. One more child brought into the realm of golden era games.
i'm not totally convinced with Snake 2:13:38 ... misses some sounds that were in the old version.... some crystal sounds... anyway the bass part is perfect

Thank you good sir/madam for this wonderful piece of work!
This list is an absolute good.
Thank you sir
2:27:11 (The second hand) one of Frank’s best soundtrack. It has that deep Cold War/post war thing so does Backstab and Voice rhythm 2.
Some heroes don't wear capes.
So much variety, funk, metal, industrial, electronic, jazz. Thats why this is my favorite ost of all time. Frank is a genius.
I feel he was more experimental with Tiberium Dawn, but RA1 is more varied.
"Soon we will stand, soon we will stand, soon we will stand, Invincible!"
That sums up the latter 90's for me.
The Retaliation mix of Crush is just such a jam.
this soundtrack is ridiculously good. brings back memories of the old days
The soundtrack alone is worth the asking price of 19.99€ so much amazing music remastered and new remixes.
honestly its giving me a feeling i never felt before like a mix of nostalgia but also like rawness i wanted to destroy some ppl right away
Basically the trend in the last 20 year is graphic getting better as music getting worse
@al Jaberty wrong. Some songs have 2 names. The Valley is Voice Rhythm 2, and Giant Ants is The Second Hand.
Just bought the game off of steam. Instant nostalgia hit me when you hear this and Tanya laughing when you click on her. LOL. Best RTS EVER!
Frank Klepacki, one of the best composers to appear in games. I miss Westwood studios so much, man!
Love play C&C Red Alert - Retaliation on my PSOne, back in the day! xDD
this one alone sells the remaster, i'm loving it so far, can't wait for RA2 remaster... if they make one :(
they will.... remastered selling like hot cake on steam. have faith my friend
i vote for tiberian sun remaster
i'm really loving it man. BTW Allied are under estimated !!
Red Alert 2 is still great as it is. I don't think it needs a remaster. Give it an official proper widescreen patch, and that's all. (maybe polish a bit on the FMVs)
I wouldn't be surprised if they remaster TibSun and RA2 in the near future
For me, Face The Enemy 1 & 2 always have this eerie Cold War suspenses.
And Run
Do look up the C&C Red Alert Trailer. It uses Face The Enemy 1 in a perfect cinematic. As great as the intro to the game is, I wish they used the trailed in the actual game it was so good.

Meh, it's nothing special. Actually was always kind of depressing for me. Big Foot, Hell March, Face The Enemy 1, and Crush is where it's at.
Indeed such a vibey song. Now that I listen to it I realize i had it in my head from time to time over the last decade and always thought it's some electronic music I used to listen to haha. Best game soundtrack for sure C&C 1&2
Helps me focus at work early in the morning.. 👍🏻 I imagine myself driving the ore truck.
Yeah buddy Frank's video game OST's are incredible! It doesn't really matter if it's midi or guitar or whatever genre he drops bombs!
The menu theme is just as good as it is!!!
I love how it is faithfully made. One must admit his/her childhood was partly because of Frank’s music!
Fogger at 54:19
Trenches at 2:35:49
Fogger seems to be remade whereas Trenches is just remastered quality. Would have loved if Trenches received the Fogger treatment!
Fogger was remade from scratch because Frank could not find the original track anywhere in his library
@@DickPenisecki that was he said in the reddit thread
I would actually prefer the opposite, if both tracks were carefully remastered in a high quality but with the original synths and sound effects. Trenches is perfect as it is. Sadly, the source code of the original Fogger, Menu theme and Snake seems to have been lost.

Welcome BACK, COMMANDER. Like good old times..
👍 Nostalgia
CNC was one of if not THE first series to use not only full motion video cutscenes but a dedicated soundtrack recorded for the game
You can hear some In Deep (Red Alert 2 OST) vibes on this version of Snake.
The CnC Retaliation music has a special place in my CnC heart. I played it a lot on my PSX.
The Hell March & Crush remixes are best part of music from RA.
My brotha!

My favorite OST from the game.
people like you are the best.
thank you
Note to self 49:39 Floating (one of the sickest jazz songs of all time)
100%

This music is cool for studying math and engineering stuff, at least for me!
1:28:33 Mud Retaliation Remix is easily my favorite from the OST. It'd always play at the right time back then playing on the PS1. So glad the songs from Retaliation are in the Remastered game.
It's got crazy Dune 2 vibes that one :D

Best OST ever. Just went back and beat all of the base CNC games and red alert. cnc 1-3 and red alert 1-3. Love cnc so much...
Avaiting orders... ACKnowledged...
Not gonna lie, I always felt that Floating 49:37 was an orphaned/misplaced track from a Sim City game. lol
1:41:00 - So atmospheric! They all so atmospheric! Where is the track list?!
Just an absolutely awesome package of a happy time in my childhood that keeps me traveling back again and again! ♥️
dude how do i get the TANK BATTLE tracked unlocked?
complete Bad Neighborhood Nod Covert Op mission.

Intro Menu was remade too.
Gotta say, Hell March sounds awesome on this remastered version!

Hell March 1:13:47 (Retaliation Remix) probably the most spectacular screensaver with music for it from all PS1 games, even the "Syphon Filter" cannot be compared.

I think it might be in the game now if I recall correctly?
1:41:15 After 24 years, I just now finally realized that the "red" in "Red Alert" refers to the Red Army. God...dammit.
Don't worry, I only just realised Brotherhood of NOD symbol is a scorpion's tail.
At 26:48, you can hear the same melodies in Dune 2 and Command and Conquer Tiberian Dawn.
My nostalgia for this game and the 1990s brought me here.
1:07:23 The best song for a RTS games (Sorry Theme Terra -Starcraft BroodWar)

57:30 is like living in an 80s commercial lol
The year when the original game came out is closer to the 80s than when the game came out to the present day.

I had to double check but this isnt the remastered sound track, just the normal one.
i'm not totally convinced with Snake 2:13:38 ... misses some sounds that were in the old version.... some crystal sounds... anyway the bass part is perfect
They've removed some sounds, by purpose.
Was almost a little off-put by Voice Rhythm 2. In the old one, the pitch seemed to slide around a little. Now it doesn't.
it should have came with Retaliation, but it has a different soundtrack, I suspect that was the only reason that edition wasnt also included.
The Search has quite an ominous tune, like you KNOW something evil is waiting for you 😈
RIP Renegade 2... RIP RA:APB...
