This was super helpful, thanks a ton for this! I live in Austin where the trails are mostly rocky and flat. Do you have suggestions for either specific bikes or things to look for to make it great for that kind of riding? Lots reviews talk about the bikes being great for long climbs or flying downhill, which doesn’t apply to me.
I highly recommend doing some demos. If your budget is a little on higher end go see the guys at velorangutan.com they are very knowledgeable and can help you find the balance between weight and how much travel you need for the area. Try to stay under 30lbs if possible. You could also probably demo some Treks at their new shop. The took over Bicycle sport shop. I’m more and more coming to the conclusion for that area that 100mm / 110mm travel is good with modern geo and gives some weight savings.
Great video mate really high quality and lots of info for newer mtbers
I’m loving my new stuntjumper
Awesome! Have fun out there.
@@TXMTBN from my previous bike. It’s definitely a rusted out civic to a nissan gtr for comparison.
Got it. But still didn't get the reason you changed to a newer SJ when you already have older SJ specially it's heavier
My wife inherited the old Stumpjumper.
