SEPTA Flashback 1996: The Ikarus & Other Buses

The first of the SEPTA Ikarus/NABI buses were being delivered at the time of this video shoot. A few Neoplan buses appear as well. Shot at several locations around Philadelphia.
Nana took us around Philadelphia and ride the Ikarus Nabi 416 in the 90s and to Franklin Mills Mall when we was kids

Holy shit Sir Joseph 😳 8331, a 1982 SEPTA Neoplan AK transit bus with a ribbed engine cover. If that was the case then it probably still had the white bulkheads inside the bus. 8331 made it's appearance around the 11:18 mark. 8331 still had the round orange emergency light on it's roof and you can hear an M3 in the background too.
Actually, there were at least two or thee AK's that I ran across near the end that still had the white bulkheads. But I remember as they painted all the other 8000-series, I would groan in agony every time I saw a new one.... ruining their identities.... lol

I wonder if that was a Neoplan bus assigned to the 1 @ 0:43.
Could have been a 44 too....
I wonder what Septa did with all of those old Neoplans and RTS busses. I miss those.
All long sold for scrap.

What was the Ikarus like when it was first released?
Well, in all honesty, pretty much the same, except shinier and less rattles...
The first one I got on was in September 1996 on Route C. It was 5157.

5159 on the 18 was the first one I rode, November 1996, which would be followed by 5166 and 5174.
Who put a chicken McNuggets on top of the 🚌?
That caught my eye right away when I saw that bus pull up!
