00:13:00-00:14:00 says that there is no rule in any art form .Even film making is an instinctual process.He believe in that 'There is no one shoe that fits all ' .
00:14:15--00:16:07 shares his dream while making of Hyderabad Blues . he never wants a place in mainstream Bollywood.He wants to be a little fish in big pond.(world cinema). consider himself successful as he made a reasonable numbers of movies.
00:16:30--00:18:25 his creative concerns.he tagged himself as a story-teller.though there are many components like writing , action,direction,planning but he is restless to tell stories.He wants to make film on various subjects like trafficking,girl-child education,differently able people.
He like to raise issues through his films but he never make film for any cause. Even Dhanak ,his recent film ,starts with a story and than insert various elements in it .He thinks cause films are boring one.LAKSHMI was the only movie that he made to raise an issue.but for Dhanak they get fair distribution and movie did well.
00:19:00 He belief in doing only those things in which he believes.He thinks film making is not easy thing.He thinks commercial cinema is not his cup of tea.He wants to approach audience through cinema as a story teller only .
00:20:20 --00:24:50 shares his experience with distribution of films.Distribution is very tough part rather than film making as film making is in one's own hand,but not distribution.He shares experience while distribution of Lakshmi ,as it gets very horrible screens & timings.He is happy that traditional distribution pattern is becoming digital platform is making way for young audiences resulting in a stronger democratic way for movies that he likes to make . He is optimistic that he can now focus on small stories that will be able to reach audience through this medium.
00:23:30 -- 00:24:50 Hrishikesh Mukherjee (Hindi)&K.Vishwanath(Telugu) are two Indian filmmaker whose cinema he likes . Recently he has a strong desire to make one musical classical like K.vishwanath's movies like Sankarabharnamam ,
Sagara sangamam ,Swati mutyam .He thinks his way of portraying characters and approaching middle & lower middle class is much similar to Hrishi da.
00:25:20--00:27:05 He tells understanding acting & being a good actor are two different things .He understands acting that is the basic reason he acted in some of his movies .For Hyderabad Blues he didn't found anyone who speaks English in American accent ,so he acted .Apart from this ,he acted as main lead in Teen deewarein and Lakshmi only.because he can only understand the role that he wants to portray.He consider it very subjective . He acted merely on intuition only.
00:27:35--00:29:25 He wants to make movie in every zone .want to make a science fiction &an action movie . Old age is topic that strikes his mind very often,as many social changes happening in country and family structure is falling apart.
So He want to tell a story regarding old age people &their concerns .also want to make a crazy rock musical movie.
00:29:55--00:31:05 speaks about his biggest regret,apart from frustration .other than that he is very optimistic. He stops trusting people .
00:31:20 Concluding his interview he wants to say all the beginners that 'Just do it' a line he took from NIKE . That's how he lived his life.
I salute this man for making all great films without involving any big star cast. From Hyderabad blues to Rockford, Dor, Iqbal, Laxmi to Dhanak all are masterpieces in their own right. Our country needs more thinkers n writers like him.
undoubtedly one of the most sensible film directors in India... I like his story writing skills the most...

Nagesh Kuknoor is one of queerest film maker we have, I love his movies. And yes the streaming platforms are developing at great speed and it will help these filmmaker more chance to showcase their works.
Nagesh correctly identified how OTT platforms will disrupt traditional film distribution, and this change is speeding up in pandemic times. I hope these digital platforms allow more independent movie makers to make movies, and succeed.
Irfan Sir as always allowing the guest to introspect and showcasing various aspects of his/ her personality. Besides being an avid listener what I love most is always his last words, giving the interviewee the opportunity to express any thoughts that he may consider significant .
