My dad took a trip to Alaska and fell in love. He wanted us to go together and he wanted to move there. He died before either happened, so I’m loving this Alaskan vid series, to see some of what my dad saw. Maybe some day I’ll visit.
My father also fell in love with AK, so much he bought a house in Girdwood... He passed and the house got sold, and I really miss that Mountain and area!
As an Australian I wished me and my old man had done a trip around together. He'd been basically everywhere but I still haven't been to 3 states and I'm 40 now. Keep in mind, the USA has 50 states, we have 8 and including Alaska & Hawaii we're over 70% the size. My home state is close to 1.5 the size of Texas and has a population of just over 8 million whilst Texas has 28. Takes a long time to drive anywhere :)
I got to tell ya, as the proud owner of an F-150 myself, your truck's reliability has been impressive with all the miles and places you've driven it. Rock on man!
@@MRMV483 I have a 2018 F-150 with the 5.0V8. I don't think he's ever mentioned it but from the sound of his truck on video, it sounds like the EcoBoost V6 to me.
Here I am, up at 2:45 AM, and yet again being inspired by good ole Mav to drop everything, buy a truck, and take that thing everywhere. You’re a big inspiration Mav!!
I remember taking a ride up the dalton highway and just as a tip, the truckers up there all use hand-held radios to communicate with each other and they all use channel 19. Hope I’m a help! Have fun your trip! 👍
They were probably talking to one another on the radio, noting with glee when they saw the pretty guy in the white F-150 pass by. I'm sure they were all fans and viewers, just like we are.
The Dalton highway is exactly how the Alaska-Canada highway (the Alcan as us Alaskans call it) used to be back in the 80's when I first drove up to Alaska. All dirt and gravel with semis flying past throwing rocks at us. Everyone used to build these huge screens that we would bungee on the front of the car to deflect the rocks. It was really ghetto and funny looking but it was worth it to save he windshield. I once drove up from Washington state in December and there was so much snow. We drove around this lake in the Yukon at midnight and it was a full moon. Everything glowed white with all the snow and I felt as though I was driving on the moon. It was the coolest experience. I've driven the Alcan 6 times, 3 times in the summer, once in the fall and twice in the winter. It's always amazing and I'm so thankful for experiencing it back when it was super remote.
This is definitely at the top of being one of your best episodes and quite intense! As a mom this one had me on pins and needles. What a great adventure! You be safe and can’t wait for next week’s video. 🙂

Those white reflectors on the Dalton highway are so that you can see where the road is in the driving snow in the winter when you’ve got 5 foot snow drifts on each side of the road
Hey Mav, was born and raised in Alaska and on the Yukon this time of year the most targeted species would be anyone of the 5 Salmon species (not keeping King Salmon because of the decline in population though), Burbot, Grayling, as well as Trout and other whitefish species. I would highly recommend trying go fishing for Halibut and Salmon while your there as its the best you can get in the world, the trout and pike can get quite monstrous as well. The over the road reflectors are for winter when the snow is that deep so you can know your still on the road. Keep up the great work!

I did that drive to Prudhoe Bay 24 years ago in a 2 door Pontiac Sunbird that the person I was hitching a ride with had bought just two weeks prior. It was quite a trip and the car performed like a champ (it was a Minnesota car). We saw a lynx, caribou, and amazing northern lights. Really enjoyed this episode!
Was just here last week. Turned back at Coldfoot since I didn't want to cross the pass in October, and you can't go all the way to the ocean anyways. Stayed overnight in Coldfoot and watched the aurora with all the stars. Once in a lifetime experience
it’s always a good day when Mav uploads. thanks for sharing your adventure with us and filming all of it ❤ also, crazy skills and judgement there to see that the bird can still be eaten + fillet it lol GOAT.
Congratulations! You drove me Dalton highway, two separate female vanlife people drove the Dalton, one on June 21, the other was ? I can't remember and noe you, Maverick! Northern life is a harsh environment for sure. I was created and raised in my isolated community, I love it her in north central BC, Canada 🇨🇦 We have adapted to the lifestyle, welcome to living in the north.
I installed those over the road reflectors. They are called “delineator’s” and they aid trucks to see the sides of the road when they are covered in snow and stuff at night. I worked every camp on the Dalton, to Proudhoe bay where I worked in DeadHorse on the runway for the State. Cold foot, Chandlar, 7 mile, Sag River, Jim Creek, DeadHorse. Was a great job, and met amazing people. Where you stopped for the night, I fished and caught an arctic grayling, and saw a ton of musk ox that kind of spooked me but they were real docile, Also you shouldn’t have touched the mud or got it on your shoes. They coat the roads in Calcium chemical for dust mitigation, it dries the skin out and eats your shoes. I had a pair of boots shrink around the steel toe so tight I couldn’t get a foot in. Also for “breasting” the bird, not sure if you know the Alaska method? Spread the wings on its back, place a foot against the body standing on the wings, grab a leg in each hand, and pull strongly. The bird will invert and you will be left with nothing but wings and a bare breast. It’s a trick! I messaged you on your socials but you haven’t seen it, if everyone could thumbs up my comment so he can meet me next time he passes through my state, I’ll show him some spectacular places to make content.
Another day of Gert and that wonderful feeling of someone squeezing my throat. Well I'm off to rest. Sleep is something I haven't enjoyed in a year. Be safe everyone I love all of you ☺️👍

one of the most Alaskan things i've seen in a while - eatin some roadkill next to a crystal clear river while its lightly snowing in the arctic circle ! love it makes me want to drive north from Seattle right now!

Just moved to Alaska 2 months ago. And love it here
Hey Maverick, that was an awesome video. The mountains and the scenery are so beautiful you always take us to amazing places whether it’s California on the West Coast or down in Mexico or up in Alaska or in Canada so much fun be safe. ♥️✌️🏔️🙂👍
I love all your vlogs, but I do believe that this is my favorite so far! Absolutely beautiful! Way to salvage the bird too! Living your best life! Keep on Truckin’!
mav is just the most wholesome dude on yt
I did the same trip when I graduated college. Flew to Fairbanks, rented a truck with a camper in the back, and drove up to Pruedo Bay!
The “Keep on Truckin’” motto you slid in at the restaurant was awesome. 👏🏾 👏🏾
Definitely one of my favorite episodes in a while. Keep on truckin'!
Mav, another great episode!! I love your adventurous spirit. Thanks for sharing your awesome trip with us!!
The short poles indicate snow height and the edge of the road for the grader's to clear.
9:56 that still better than Canada hurt my soul a little bit! Great video
Great content man ❤️💯
Taking a chance eating roadkill miles way from nowhere..now that's our Mav.
A great episode Mav. From the Alcan hghy to the Dalton. Your indeed a survivor and skilled at the challenges you undertake. I want you to carry on and be safe. Maybe you will get to have lunch with some ice truckers. Cheers Mav!🏔
Please STOP being a fraud. Yup know what your up too. 😡
You inspired me to snag a F150 for my road trip after seeing how reliable yours is. Really pleased so far, and what a comfort on the road too. Keep givin' er bud
At 14:34, did you notice the blood spatter on his windshield? Yeah, a truck did hit the bird. 😂
Yesss love me a new Mav video 🔥🔥🔥
Stay safe man!
No other youtubers can make me feel happy Mav . I really love watching your videos !!
Was just here last week. Turned back at Coldfoot since I didn't want to cross the pass in October, and you can't go all the way to the ocean anyways. Stayed overnight in Coldfoot and watched the aurora with all the stars. Once in a lifetime experience
Woow Woot! Glad you go to visit Alaska, I've lived off grid up here for 8 years now. There's nothing better
it’s always a good day when Mav uploads. thanks for sharing your adventure with us and filming all of it ❤ also, crazy skills and judgement there to see that the bird can still be eaten + fillet it lol GOAT.
Sundaze call for some Coffee n Mav ☕️
What an epic drive! Gotta love those fall colours 👌🏼
Congratulations! You drove me Dalton highway, two separate female vanlife people drove the Dalton, one on June 21, the other was ? I can't remember and noe you, Maverick!
Northern life is a harsh environment for sure. I was created and raised in my isolated community, I love it her in north central BC, Canada 🇨🇦
We have adapted to the lifestyle, welcome to living in the north.
Where you stopped for the night, I fished and caught an arctic grayling, and saw a ton of musk ox that kind of spooked me but they were real docile,
Also you shouldn’t have touched the mud or got it on your shoes.
Maybe those over-road reflective signs are for when the snow gets really high
Man your an inspiration for all us! Keep on trucking, im getting my own van this year to do the same 🦅bless you from Spain bro
Golf in Alaska is one of those bucket list things you should do if presented with the opportunity! You should definitely play!!!
Mav I'm gonna try and travel like you, I am 30 n got another camper truck. Your a true inspiration. God bless🙌
Another day of Gert and that wonderful feeling of someone squeezing my throat. Well I'm off to rest. Sleep is something I haven't enjoyed in a year. Be safe everyone I love all of you ☺️👍
I don't think anyone realizes that his oil light just came on and he's in the middle of nowhere. hell of a cliff hanger for the next time for Mav to tune in. hope everything goes well
Yeah seems like not too many people noticed. Hopefully it's just low oil and he has more with him.
There was a whole shelf of Mobile 1 at the truck stop! I’m sure he’s smart enough to carry extra oil coolant and gas on a trip like this.
I'm officially very jealous of this dude.... What a life he is living
Another epic video Mav, nothing like fresh road kill for dinner. Video's like this is why your channel is growing so fast. Anyways you stay safe out there and have a blessed day. Aloha from Kansas
I’m all for the African bush. Namibia. Desert. But the cold makes me very unsettled. It amazes me how you are so tuned into the cold.
Been a follower since you bought the truck and you and Hannah built the original bed/camper setup. Got to say that this is my favorite adventure of them all. Where next in 2023?
Just about caught up with watching all your content. 6 months ago hadn't heard of you, now my favourite thing to watch. You mention that you're socially awkward but so impressed with your travels. You come across very naturally, put in such a lot of work so really pleased for you that you're making a good income from RUclips and have so many subscribers. Looking forward to your future adventure x
Eva zu Beck's video from yesterday is from the exact same location and destination...that would be an epic meetup! Your truck looked pretty clean at the beginning, not so much at the end 😁 Spectacular scenery and adventure, continued safe travels!
There are several RUclipsrs all doing this trek at the same time. I've been watching about 5 (including Mav). It would be fun to see them pass each other by on the highway or meet randomly in a video
@@ShadyClown007 Oh really? That's awesome! Agreed, hopefully we'll see some fun crossovers.
This might be a stupid question but how do you get your phone to continue working when you cross canada and Alaska borders? I haven't been to Canada in years but I remember when I used to go. I would get crazy roaming charges.
one of the most Alaskan things i've seen in a while - eatin some roadkill next to a crystal clear river while its lightly snowing in the arctic circle ! love it
makes me want to drive north from Seattle right now!
Definitely can’t wait for the next episode!!! Stay safe out there Mav!!
number one fan from africa mav come to kenya and do content i will take you around for free
if you want to contact me check my instagram the same username just like my youtube
bring your dad to watch wildlife in kenya 💯🇰🇪
1.0
Not the oil light! Never a dull moment with Mav!
I have faith in you Mav. Keep on trucking. Stay focused. Enjoy the adventure. Stay safe.
Made me smile from ear to ear .when you stopped picked up the bird. Was up at silver island lake by tofte mn doing a little grouse hunting. I found two fresh grouse hit by logging trucks . There is nothing wrong with road meat .we find a few every year. As long as the meat smells good ,chow down.👍🐓🚛
Just two months ago i commented that you had 2.9 mill subs and deserved it all, and now you have 2.15 mill !!! it’s so crazy how fast you’re blowin up I can’t wait for the future of this Chanel ❤
Summer camping is fun, but I always enjoyed the adventures of winter camping also! I definitely miss it though. Haven't been winter camping in years.. need to get out one time!
Absolutely gnarly status brother🤙🏼
I hope you find a wife in the near future bud. It would be so cool to watch you guys do stuff like this together. I've been watching you for a long time MAV. You're one of my favorite RUclipsrs. Much respect at what you do. Please keep up the great work my friend.
An Alaska road trip is on my bucket list. This definitely gives me some ideas. Thanks Mav!
This is one of the greatest trips. My family drove great lakes to Prudhoe Bay when I was 13. I love being able to relive through your video. Safe travels 🗺
Rode the Dalton several years ago on motorcycle. It is a beautiful part of the country.
DUDE. THE ADVENTURES YOU TAKE ON ARE AMAZING. IM GLAD YOU DO THIS! GLD I SUBSCRIBED 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I LOVE YOU MAV!!!!!!!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What beautiful country to drive through and how courageous to not only drive to the Artic CirCle but to do it solo. YOu are definitely a modern day adventurer!
This trip was other wordly. The Arctic circle. The James Dalton Highway. Soo exciting. Pristine. That bird you consumed was a beautiful bird. I am happy you made good use of it. Just soooo exciting. Keep on truckin'" Mav. Stay safe and be well!🌴🌴🌴🌴👣👣🏖️💙
Great video Mav! Keep em coming and keep on Truckin!
