I miss my Shiba Inu. One day I will have me another. One little change in routine that I suggest is immediately taking them on a bathroom break walk first thing in the morning. It must suck to have to hold it all night then have to wait even longer to go in the morning. Or, if you have a good fenced in yard, you could do like I've seen done where you install a doggy door to a fenced in yard so the doggo can go outside for their business anytime they need.
i got an akita and i also go outside for a walk with her first thing in the morning

Cooner95 Yes Kyoto is very lucky he is so cute...he's such a little stinker sometimes 😂 But still a great dog nonetheless 😁 Labs are great too!! I had a yellow lab named Sage but I sadly had to put him down this past November because of cancer, he was 13 😔 Sage was such a great dog and I'm glad I found Kyoto a couple weeks after Sage's passing. Kyoto has definitely helped fill that empty void in my heart ☺️

He does so well with you putting on the harness. Our shiba does NOT like the harness at all and walks away when we try to put it on him. Was Kyoto like that at first and if so, how did you get him to put on the harness?
Shelby Paige oh trust me, he doesn't like the harness either! he has gotten a lot better though! At first I literally had to chase him around the house just to get the harness on. I find that it helps to show them that you have a treat and they will most likely come towards you, then once you're able to hold them you can give them the treat and start to put the harness on. This way they'll know that if they let you put on the harness they'll get a treat! It will take some time but they will learn eventually! Hope this helps and thanks for watching 😄👍🏼

You walk him 3 times a day everyday? I intend to buy a shiba in a few years
FNSCARL2 the morning and evening walks are very short, just around the block so he can use the bathroom. it's the afternoon walk that is super long, that way he can let out all of his energy!
FNSCARL2 I walk my Shiba about 3-4 times a day. The 4th time is generally if she has a lot of energy or that 1 final time before going to bed to empty the bladder.
Shiba's are awesome dogs. Mine is nearly 10months old now

Version9ex I actually adopted Kyoto from an animal shelter when he was 7 months old so I can't really answer your questions but I'm pretty sure the shelter gave him all of the necessary shots! 😄
That dog is super ready for the day. I can't imagine how it feels to sleep in and realize you forgot to take care of Kyoto.

At what age do you think that you should stop keeping them in the cage overnight? Im planning on getting a shiba in a few months
hmm I would say that all depends on the dogs personality and how comfortable you are with letting them just roam around the house. Sometimes I'll let Kyoto sleep on the bed with me and he's usually fine, but when he wakes up he starts to go through all of my stuff and thinks its a toy. So you can let them out of the cage whenever you're ready, but just make sure you keep anything important out of their reach so they don't start to chew on it and also leave lots of toys for them! Even though at night they're usually sleeping you just want to make sure that when they wake up they don't get themselves into any trouble. I personally like to put him in the crate for now since he's still a little mischievous puppy, that way I know that when I wake up he's not chewing on something that could potentially harm him if he accidentally swallowed it. I like to make sure I can keep an eye on him 24/7, but definitely when he's older and has grown out of that rebellious stage I will let him out of the crate!

hi, is was wondering if you use a Large size harness on him?? i have a shiba inu too and have a medium size one that it too tight on him. i dont know the size differences (medium/large) but my idea of a large harness is made for larger 50 lbs pets... my shiba is 23 pounds, i dont want to the harness to be too big ya know. Kyoto is a beautiful dog and when i was watching this video on my computer my dog was perked up watching kyoto like he was really there

Joel Gonsalves the morning and evening walks are very quick! Just around the block which usually takes me 10-15 min! The afternoon walk is usually around an 1 hour since we stay at the dog park for a little bit! Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Who puts their dog in a cage during the night ? Wtf...
ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ a lot of people do actually. Kyoto actually likes his, sometimes he'll even go in on his own. I do it for his own safety because when I'm sleeping I won't be able to watch him. He likes to get into everything and eat random things that could hurt him.

To be honest, I'm shocked. Girl, you put your dog into a cage every fucking night and lock it, and then you're telling that "Oh, my dog has so much energy" WTF? A dog should smell near the owner (Not exactly near but in the owner's area), so then the dog will calm down, will not be worried because when the dog worries it destroys everything around, bite everything. The dog needs to decide when to sleep but not the owner who puts it into the cage! It's not a parrot that you need to cover him at night! Who told you to do this? Some dogs afraid of darkness and it can destroy their minds, as what I'm seeing now. And you should not pet your dog when he bites sth, you should say strong no. And he doesn't respond to your "No" because he doesn't know whats this! You say "no" and then pet him, so he thinks that "Okay, I do everything right". And also I've noticed that you put water near food that means that you take out water away after eating, why? The dog should always have water during a day because even human can't control when they're going to be thirsty. Omg, this all is just blowing my mind.
i appreciate that you took the time to right a novel lmfao last time i checked this is MY dog. kyoto was still a puppy when this video was made and he was not ready to be left to roam the house by himself just yet. which is why we put him in the crate at night to make sure he didn’t eat anything or get into something that could potentially harm him. now that he’s older we no longer keep him in the crate. the crate is left open, sometimes he sleeps in the crate and sometimes he’ll sleep on the couch. he also always has a filled water bowl next to his food. kyoto is clearly a happy pup, so i must be doing something right. maybe next time you decide to write a novel you should ask yourself if this is even your dog first. would probably save you a lot of time :)
