- Hello everybody!
This week I am unboxing my first jumping spider, a female P. regius.
I built the enclosure for my niece so that we can take care of it together as she shows a lot of interest in my tarantulas.
Lala will stay with me all of the time as I am the crazy spider lady in the family, but my niece always comes over so she will get to see her all of the time.
The video just goes into the simple unboxing and rehousing… turned tale of wild events.
The morning after she had arrived, she laid some eggs… but 6 hours later they were all gone!
I hope you enjoyed seeing Lala for the first time and believe she’s as adorable as I think she is!

I knew from the newspaper that it was Tom Patterson 😆
It was my first time ordering and I loved the experience. It was during a time where shipping companies were bombarded and a little slow, so he emailed letting me know he would wait a day to ship so it didn’t get stuck in transit too long. She arrived in perfect condition!
Congratulations to you and your niece on your new jumping spider. I love your enclosure ❤ Also I have been told, but don’t know for sure, that all of a jumping spiders eggs sacks in the future will all be fertile if she has been with a male even one time.
Thank you very much!!! I’m wondering if it was just an infertile one and the move stressed her out a little, possibly prompting her to lay. Her eating it was possibly her knowing that it wasn’t fertile.
Whoa, that was so super intriguing and so fun to watch :) Astonishing stuff! :)
Thank you very much! I’m glad you found it interesting!!!
I recommend just an advice Jst add water to a spray water bottle so she can drink out of the dots
IMO jumpers don’t need water dishes, their lungs are on the underside of their body so they can easily drown in them! I usually just mist my enclosures down so they can drink the droplets
Thank you for your comment! I am aware they can easily drown/location of lungs, so I don’t fill the dishes too too much. No problems yet, and hopefully never! I will keep in mind though how much I fill! Now I only maybe put one or two droplets in a dish so she can’t get hurt (similar to a wall spray lol). I do also mist her enclosure every other day/few days. One of the dishes also became an occasional prekilled prey holder lol 😂
