+Miles Away That is a wonderful thing to look forward to. Ten plants! Wow! Can you believe it? This peony tuber is now in bud. I might include it in a later video.
Every time I watch a bare root video from the UK the roots look like they're supposed to but here in the US the roots always come in the mail looking very sad.
thanks for doing this video, that is a grat way of extending ur plant collection. can you please give us the internet website if u have ordered on line? thanks.
+MaryG Orchids Hi Mary. Here is the link to the site I ordered from. Their plants are very good but you have to pay via bank transfer. It can also take time to get replies to messages... www.augisbulbs.com/
@@GardeningatDouentza Wich way to plant them!! I planted one (Ruby port) with the mushroom looking top sticking out of the ground!! Don't know if that was correct!!! I will take any tips or advice you can give me!!!! Thanks in advance!
@@gwenlyda4958 If you can see any shoots, either green or white then they should be on top. Columbines have a little rhizome so I'm not sure what the mushroom you mention is.
+Peter Mc Guinness Hi Peter. Established clumps of Crocosmia 'Lucifer' are very hard to divide or get rid of as the new corms form on top of the old so you end up with a high-rise effect above soil level. General advice is to cut a slice out of the mass, like with a pie. Personally, with my big clump, I do not have the strength to do this but have successfully 'chipped' bulbs off the top of the mass. Be careful where you plant this as I have found weedkiller the only effective way to eradicate it. Black eyed Susan or Rudbeckia shouldn't be too hard to divide. Dig it up and then tease divisions apart. Place the clump in a bucket of water to facilitate this if necessary. Hope this helps.
Hi Rachel! What about bulbs like daffodils? or irises? or even amaryllis? Is it the same idea, or do they need to be outside in the cold so that they will bloom? maybe that was too much for one comment...but hey, future video ideas! :)
+annaiskicking Anna, I made a video on planting tulips (which do need the cold) at one stage. Here it is... ruclips.net/video/Xz8aukQICqc/видео.html Daffodils and amaryllis are all a little different so yeah, maybe they'll be subjects for future videos. Thanks :)
This isn't propagating. It's potting up bare root plants. Lots of plants can be bought as bare root in spring or autumn and they work out cheaper than potted plants.
So helpful. And that tree behind you has enormous leaves! The shape looks loke maple tree leaves but those are 50x bigger.
Thank you. The tree behind me is Tetrapanax papyrifera 'Rex'. I've featured it in quite a few videos as it's one of my favourites.
This is such a FANTASTIC how to vid Rachel :-) Thanks so much for sharing and have a BRILLIANT Wednesday ahead XXXXXXX
+heartfullofhappiness Thank you, Lyn.

Awesome peony tuber! I have 10 coming in 2 weeks and I hope they're all that size!

The rhizome needs to be buried with the shoots on top.
Great vid!! Have you got any tips for dividing crocosmia lucifer or black eyed Susan's?

What other plants can you propagate this way?
This isn't propagating. It's potting up bare root plants. Lots of plants can be bought as bare root in spring or autumn and they work out cheaper than potted plants.
😃Just got my lavender bare roots thank you for the great video I feel better about getting them into soil🍀
It's a great time of year for bare root plants and they are so much cheaper too. I hope your lavender does brilliantly.
nice video
