Hi mate and it was tough trying to see everyone at GETS because of the crowds but never mind, maybe another time! Yes, the Viessmann system is absolutely fantastic, so excited about it and can’t wait to develop this even more. Cheers. …………Graham
Hi Arthur and many thanks for the comment and I’m so pleased that you like this new addition to Lakeside, as you can gather, I’m over the moon with these trucks and all they can do, they are going to give me so much enjoyment in the future. Cheers. ………….Graham
Hi Dave and thanks for the comment, I’m feeling better than I did a week ago but I’m still suffering from the after effects of it. God knows what it was but I wish it would go. Yes, those trucks are fabulous and I can’t wait to get them running properly by slowing down and stopping, I haven’t done any work on them today as I just haven’t been up to it but hopefully I will get up in the train room soon. Cheers. ………..Graham
What a lovely truck Graham. amazing piece of kit. i am really pleased that i finally got to meet you. hopefully we can do it again sometime. until then my friend. take care.....Tony
Hi Tony and thank you for the comment, yes, the trucks are amazing, I still can’t get over how they interact with each other, fascinating to watch. And indeed, hopefully we can meet up again and have a longer chat next time, until then, you take care mate. Cheers. …………Graham
Hi Peter and thank you for the comment, I’m really happy with these two trucks and have bought the high street to life with just that bit of movement. Still not 100% yet with this bug I’ve picked up, just doesn’t seem to be shifting but it will go eventually. 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
@@chelmswoodjunction Hi mate, I think it was food poisoning but not from the hotel, I think if I did get it then it was from the pub we went to in the evening, thankfully that’s over and done with now! 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Hi Graham, that's an amazing system you have found, so enjoyable to watch and be fantastic with you extra buses you intend to get, great video as usual and hope you are feeling a lot better after your sickness etc all the best Baz
Hi Baz and thank you for the comment. Yes, feeling better than I was but still not 100% yet, hopefully it will clear up soon. The Viessmann trucks are as you say fantastic and I still can’t keep my eyes off them trundling up and down Kingsway High Street and interacting with each other which I think is the fascination for me! 👍🏻. Hi Susannah and thanks for the very kind comment and so pleased that you enjoyed it. It was lovely meeting you again at GETS even though it was briefly but hopefully next time we can have a longer chat! 👍🏻. Cheers. ……….Graham
Hi mate and thanks for the comment. The brake lights are great but so are the working indicators and reversing lights and to even go to the bother of having dipped or main beam headlamps is unbelievable ! Fantastic! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Hi Marc and thank you for the comment and I’m glad you like these trucks - I love them! They are so much fun seeing them go round the high street interacting with each other, a great bit of kit! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham, it was great to meet you and Rob at GETS, you’re one of the main reasons I got into Model Railways when I retired some 6 to 7 years ago, along with a couple of others, it would’ve been nice to have a longer chat with you but not only was the show very busy so was the RUclips meet! Maybe another time. I love the Viessman CarMotion system really brilliant and look forward to the development of it. Cheers for now Graham, John
Hi John and many thanks for the kind comment, thank you. I could have spent a good couple of hours talking to folk (including you) but obviously we had to get round the show which proved to be a little difficult at times with the crowds but we still had a good time though. Yes, those Viessmann trucks are fantastic and like you, I’m looking forward to developing that system even further as time goes on but even in these early stages I’m getting a huge amount of fun seeing them trundle along Kingsway High Street. 👍🏻. Cheers. …………..Graham
Hi Graham, until I watched this video didn’t really look at the Faller system but I have to say the 2 Wagons are extremely fascinating to watch most intriguing! Steve
Hi Steve and thanks for the comment. The Faller system is quite different from these trucks from Viessmann and in my opinion are far better although both operate on the same principle of following a steel wire or magnetic tape buried in the road. But the Viessmann trucks have an amazing interaction with each other as you saw on the video. They are great fun to watch! 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Good morning Graham love your new truck system. Sorry to hear that you was ill last Saturday night/Sunday. It was great seeing you and Rob last weekend. Glad you liked your new gifts my friend.
Good morning Stephen and thank you for the comment, I wanted to spend more time chatting to you but somehow that didn’t happen, when I looked around you had gone! Anyway, another time but in the meantime, thank you so much for those lovely gifts you gave me and as you saw, they are sitting proudly on the layout! 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
@@GrahamFoulston yes so did I want to chat with you and Rob my friend but so did others and to be totally honest I really needed a break from the crowds so went outside for a calming cigarette. But I am determined to be there next year. Hopefully you won't have to wait for a broken down bus.
@@stephensheritagerailwaythe8776 Well I think you did really well considering the crowds there Stephen and had I known, I would have joined you for a smoke outside too but as you said, there is always next year sometime, maybe at a different show where it won’t be so crowded for you. 👍🏻
Hi Philip and many thanks for the comment and yes, it was good meeting you at GETS, always good to put a face to a name! I will certainly be having some fun with these trucks, what a great way to achieve extra movement on the layout and also the visual impact too when videoing especially with the trains running too. 👍🏻. It was one of the first things that caught my Eye at Gets, while talking to steve, Being viessmann I knew it wouldn`t be cheap, Lol. But it`s a step up from the faller system and a wise move it will work with there system, A pleasure to finally bump into you and meet the many Fellow youtubers at the event
It was a pleasure meeting you too my friend. 👍🏻. I guess when you consider what is inside these little trucks and what they can do then they aren’t going to be sold for peanuts, but I guess it depends what you want from them if you consider them value for money, to me, they are like buying a loco with a decoder installed in it because these are basically just that. Looking forward to progressing this system up on Kingsway High Street! Cheers. …………Graham
Hi Steve and many thanks for the comment. That queue at the car park was horrendous wasn’t it? As you say it’s a good job it wasn’t raining although both me and Rob got caught in the rain waiting for the bus as we were leaving and again, in a long queue. I hope that the organisers will learn from that for the next show they organise, maybe have it on a day when there are no football matches would help so we can park in the car park as normal! Cheers. …………Graham
100% agree Graham, video clip here ruclips.net/video/OfHxxy4b8gU/видео.html . Sunday parking on site wasn't much better with people being sent to full carpark areas and a road rage incident a few cars in front of me as people's frustration boiled over. Makes you think twice about larger shows? However good to see a few familiar faces and enjoyed the layouts. Regards Steve@@GrahamFoulston
@@tynedock. That’s terrible Steve, I know when I joined the queue I wondered how long it would be by the time I got to the show and when it was our turn to get on the bus then the queue had grown so much that it was doubling back on itself! 🤬
I believe they are at the NEC next year, so hopefully better organised. However I think we will end up paying to park..£18...??Swings and roundabouts I suppose. Regards Steve @@GrahamFoulston
Glad you managed both days even though you were feeling dodgy, what a fantastic road system and vehicles it's incredible what thay can do these days ,this is the good side of advancing technology, great video Graham all the best Martin
Many thanks once again Martin for the comment, not directly connected to trains this time but they are part and partial of the layout itself and I think they create a little more interest to the layout as a whole which for me is what I wanted. I find them fascinating to watch going up and down the high street interacting with each other. 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Sorry to hear you ill fella. I have to say i am very impressed with that system. That works amazingly well. I really like the way it actually slows on travel and slows to a stop behind it. Be well fella you and the family
Indeed Gareth, I love the way it interacts with the magnets embedded into the road, it gives the roadway a great look seeing this work the way it does. 👍🏻. Cheers. …………..Graham
@GrahamFoulston most definitely. I was just having a look at the various things you can get for it. When they all come into stock, there will be a wide variety available. Look forward to seeing what comes to lake side next. 👍🏻
Hi Graham 👍 it was an absolute pleasure to meet you at GETS on Sunday and thank you for taking the timeout to have a chat. Those lorries are fantastic when you see what they are capable of they are cheap compared to modern day locos. Thanks for sharing Andy
Hi Andy and the same comment back to you sir as regards meeting up and chatting to you - thank you for that privilege! 👍🏻. As regards the cost of these trucks then I consider them exactly the same as you do, buy a loco and put a decoder in it then you are talking well over £200 these days for a decent loco, these trucks already have a decoder built into them! Cheers. ………….Graham
What a clever product that is, thank you for sharing. Be interesting to see if the other vehicles in particular the buses produced in the future will be UK looking vehicles that are RHD.
Hi Mark and thank you for the comment. I don’t think they will be producing RHD vehicles in the future although I maybe wrong, all their vehicles at the moment are LHD but the two I have got I have converted over to RHD, it was a fairly simple process to do on the trucks so hopefully it will be the same process or similar for the buses when they arrive. We shall see. Cheers. ……….Graham
Hi Graham, it was great to say hello to you and Rob on the Saturday and sorry to hear you were unwell over the weekend. As always thanks for the video.
Hi Andrew and thanks so much for the comment and yes, it was great meeting you at GETS, I’m feeling better than I did but I’m still not 100% yet but hopefully over the next few days it will improve. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………….Graham

And what an awesome starter set with the trucks ..Love it.. Am sure there`s lots more to come on that. So try to stay well and fit Graham.. See you again some time some where . Regards Lord Al..
Hi Al and thanks for the comment mate. I was feeling really rough on the Sunday but it’s improved over the course of the week, still not 100% yet but getting there. Your Lavvy is brilliant mate and I’ve already started work on it - all will be revealed soon, we’ll not too revealing! 😂😂. Cheers. ………….Graham
Thanks for your insight into this system Graham. Your explanation is superb and inspires confidence to plan in such a system to my developing layout. I am glad you called out the buses at GETS as it was a shambles and Key Model World need to take note for their future events.
Hi Andy and thank you for the very kind comment and I’m pleased that I managed to explain myself clearly enough so as to make it reasonably easy enough to understand the basic principles of the system. I am delighted with this as I can see the potential it has for me to develop what I have even further. Yes, the buses at GETS were at best shambolic with apparently no contingency plans in place in case of a breakdown which is what I gather happened to one or two of the buses. I hope that lessons will be learnt from this, waiting for over an hour is no joke! Cheers. …………Graham
Hi Graham! Great to see you in tip-top form and that you had such an enjoyable time with Rob and others at GETS (sickness aside). It's always a delight to watch your videos and see the layout continue to develop and create that multi-dimensional world in miniature. Funnily enough I was in a model railway shop in Germany recently and I was asking about Faller cars for N-gauge, they directed me to a company that produces a digital version very similar to this, complete with hazard lights, brake lights etc., but in 'N' - I now need to pursue this. As always, thanks for sharing, and take care of yourself and your good lady.
Hi mate and sorry for the long delay in replying, I’m just trying to catch up on the comments in my channel. Yes, the digital Faller system is pretty much on par with the Viessmann vehicles as regards the electronics. The problem I have with the Viessmann is the lack of stock at the moment but I’m hoping that will change next year, if not then I may start looking at Faller again - depending on cost compared to the Viessmann. Cheers. ………..Graham
@@GrahamFoulston No need to apologise at all, my dear friend, thanks for taking the time to read it👍🏻 Yes, trucks appear to be no problem but cars very much so, and our hobby is getting so damn expensive for people that we have to see quality in exchange.

Hi Peter and thank you so much for commenting, it’s greatly appreciated sir. Yes, these vehicles are truly amazing, I can watch them interacting together for hours, they are mesmerising ! This is now leaving me open to make Kingsway High Street a really interesting scene and I will update on this as soon as I make any further improvements or changes. Great video here graham, hope you had a good time at the GETS show, this new system for your road is looking good, I do like that the vehicles have drivers in them unless they are ones that you have added yourself, when I eventually look at building a layout myself I would like to try and get vehicles moving so may take a look at this system, that won’t be for a while though unfortunately, keep,up the great work graham, layout is looking excellent.
Hi David and many thanks for the comment. The vehicles do have a driver and steering wheel installed but because they are German then they are all left hand drive so me being me I took the cab off both and swapped the driver and steering wheel over to be right hand drive, not totally necessary I guess but it just seemed the right thing to do, also it stops comments like “it’s a shame that they are LHD”. 😂😂. Hopefully by the time you are ready then there will be more vehicles to choose from too. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Matt and thank you for the comment, there’s nothing like seeing these in real life doing their thing, I find them intriguing to watch as they interact with each other - brilliant! 👍🏻. Cheers. ………….Graham

🇺🇦 Hi Graham. With you there 100%. We went on the Saturday. Couldn't see most of the exhibits. Highlight was meeting the other RUclipsrs. Just started my own channel and the help and encouragement I've got from them has been superb. Did manage to spend some money though. But the whole place was heaving. Had to go out for air a couple of times. Would have been nice to shake your hand on the Saturday, but didn't see you. We were thinking about getting the bus but stayed at the Premier Inn a couple of miles away, cab £6.50 and no stress. Sorry about your illness. Hope you got over it quickly. Love the trucks, great if you plan your layout to use them, afraid I haven't. Technology is amazing these days. £200 is a lot of dosh. Technology on your layout is amazing. Great vlog buddy. Love to Hazel. Stay safe. DELPH JUNCTION (Pete)
Hi Pete and many thanks for the comment mate, much appreciated. It’s a real shame we didn’t meet up but as you know, it was so packed out that it was hard seeing the stands properly let alone seeing other folk. I went outside a couple of times for a smoke and I actually saw a few people outside too which was good. I’m still suffering a bit from whatever I got (not Covid thank goodness) but it’s gradually going away albeit slowly. I have subscribed to your channel and like you, I enjoy the doing the scenic side of the railway, I find it very therapeutic. I treated these trucks as buying a loco, yes, a lot of dosh but a similar cost to a new loco these days and I get a lot of fun from them and it doesn’t matter if you are DC or DCC as it makes no difference as they run on a completely different system, so apart from the cost then everyone should be happy - I know I am! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now buddy and keep up the great work on your layout, it looks brilliant! 👏👏. …………Graham
Hello, Graham. Very sorry to hear you had some issues at GETS, but very interesting to see more of the Viessman Automation System. I had just picked up some bits of it and am looking to make a hybrid with my Faller system and get my Bus Depot and traffic pattern running again. Brilliant talk through and wonderful to see it and gives me more hope! All the best to you and the family! Cheers!
Hi Anthony and many thanks for the comment. I am very envious of you that you have the ability to make the Faller buses behave the same way as the Viessmann trucks by utilising parts from them - brilliant and I will look forward to seeing them in action, you will have to share your knowledge once completed! Cheers. …………Graham
The Viessmann CarMotion, which can be driven over embedded magnetic bands or the iron wire from the Faller Car System is an excellent product. It’s the full commercialization of the technology behind DCCar and extension by a major manufacturer which is a great development. The space keeping and pre installed lights and signals brings this to the common man. What I’m most keen on, and what you mentioned , is the development of actual cars in their small form factor. The limitation there is always the tiny battery that would be in such small vehicles. The key to making that viable is the other product they are developing - in road bed installed wireless charging system , which allows the cars to be recharged every few minutes. Imaging installing the wireless charger in a road tunnel , or in a model gas/petrol station. Now we would be cooking. So looking forward to the developments in this car space over the next year or two. The roadside (say in model bin or bollard ) signaling to allow DCC controller operation and routing of cars are surely coming.
All what you say is true and in some cases, what you have said is already in development. In-car charging is being developed already and I’ve seen a video of this and the vehicle was running left unattended for hours and hours as it passed over a charging point, charging the battery while on the move. I have also seen a video where a chap in Germany was controlling the vehicles via DCC using a combination of infrared receivers/transmitters going to a Roco Z21 controller, so it is all happening even at this early stage of development. So exciting times ahead, all we have to do is be patient for these developments come to market. 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Sorry you were unwell. I managed to tangle my boot laces together this week whilst coming up the drive, having put the bin out. Skinned hands and knee, plus I cracked my head on the tarmac, cutting my forehead and breaking my glasses. Glad you're here to cheer me up mate. Hi mate and been there, done it and bought the T shirt as the saying goes. I can remember getting up and preying nothing really happened just in case anyone was watching! 😂😂. @@FarlandHowe. Hi Rob and thanks for the comment. My magnets are not marked either so I just put a magnet close to the sensor and see what the reaction is - slow down or stop - that tells me if the magnet is North or South, easy! 👍🏻 Hope your truck arrives soon for you. 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Hi Adam and indeed, the more the technology improves then the more we can all benefit from it, this for me is going to be so much fun and will creat more movement for the layout which is always what I wanted apart from trains. HI Graham. That's a really cool piece of kit you have there. I am looking forward to seeing how this works once you've got it designed. I've always wanted a moving vehicle on my layout but I didn't really want to have a chain or wire berried underneath. The fact that you can get tape for it to run over makes really good sense. I am going to Warley next month so hopefully DCC Automation will have them on show. Once again you've inadvertently come up with a possible answer for me. Thanks Graham. Keep safe. Tim.
Hi Tim and thank you for the very kind comment, as you can see from the video, it’s a fantastic piece of kit and works so well too, you will love it and if you get the chance to see it Warley then I guarantee you will come away with at least one truck - the starter kit plus some tape too, that will get you up and running! Good luck and let me know how you get on. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………….Graham

@GrahamFoulston I think you're right there, Graham. I may well have to hide it from it. They really do look good and help animate and bring more life and interest to the layout. He's hoping to build a small 009 layout 🙂👍
Hi Graham. It was a massive disappointment to not get to meet you on Sunday! But at the same time I am more sorry that you were ill and I hope you have recovered now. Hi Mav and indeed, a massive disappointment but I guess there is always another time, it was so crowded in there that it was just by chance by bumping into people that I got the chance to say Hi to folk. This should prove to be an interesting project to follow as I’m sure that this is just the beginning, after all, I’ve only had them for less than a week and also there are many other things in the pipeline coming from Viessmann with this CarMotion system. Exciting times ahead me thinks. Cheers. …………Graham
Wow what an amazing piece of kit! they went round first time great! Considering you hadn’t laid the track with lorries in mind, I wonder when they will bring out sound for the lorries 😂 complete with horn and flashing head lights when they have to slow down to the vehicle in front
Hi mate and thanks for the comment and sorry for the late reply. The lights can flash but there is no sound as yet and to be honest, I’m not sure that it would sound that good considering the size of the speaker it would have to be to fit into such a tiny space but you never know what advancements will be made in the future. But I’m pleased with what I have though, I love the way they interact with each other automatically! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Not your fault for being ill. There is an extremely nasty 24hour bug going around, rife in our area, so I can sympathise. The lorry system is very nice. I assume they will be producing a UK bus with the doors on the correct side? A very nice addition to the layout Graham. Cheers, Bob
That was not a nice thing to have Bob, horrible in fact and I’m still suffering from it even now although not as bad. I very much doubt if Viessmann will make just a U.K. version of the vehicles, it’s like the Europeans asking Oxford Diecast to make all their vehicles with an option having LHD vehicles, the tooling would be far too much for profit returned when Viessmann have all of Europe to sell to rather than just little old U.K. I don’t think that would happen. But when they produce their buses then that’s an opportunity for me to put a different U.K. shell on top of the their chassis. I have already converted the two trucks from LHD to RHD which was simple enough to do. Cheers. …………Graham
Hi Alex and thanks for the comment, not fully recovered yet but getting there. Not a huge amount of technical skill required to be honest, the basic operation is done through the placing of a couple of magnets to make them slow down and then stop. You can go much deeper than that though should you wish, even getting them to work on DCC through a DCC controller like my Z21 which I plan to do in the future so watch this space as they say but first job is to keep on with the canal. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………….Graham
Hi Graham, so sorry to have missed you and Rob, would have been so nice to catch up with you, but theres always another time. I am amazed by those trucks, they are a game changer, especially with the slow down feature behind another vehicle. Stunning! Ill follow with interest how this develops.
Hi John and sorry that I missed you too but as you know, it was heaving in there and so easy to miss folk which was a great shame. The trucks are just awesome - well I think so and I’m sure I can make these work well given a bit more time and with maybe a couple of buses eventually too. 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Heard from other RUclipsrs about the bus problems. Sorry to hear about your additional woes. I love the moving vehicles and cyclists on layouts. Unfortunately I don't have anywhere with space for a loop on mine, but never say never. Cheers
Hi David and as you say, never say never, you may still eventually find an area that although may not be a loop of road, it could be a small depot of trucks at a distribution centre near the railway. The buses were a joke, even going home there was a huge queue and we weren’t allowed to get on the bus even though it was there and we were left standing outside in the rain - not good at all. Cheers. ………..Graham
From what I can gather it wasn't very far. They need to arrange better parking at the venue, especially when they're leaving pensioners out in the rain!@@GrahamFoulston
@@daviemaclean61. Well it’s not just pensioners being left out in the rain, it was everyone, women and children too, it was bang out of order especially as the coach was there but no one was allowed to get on it ! 🤬
That is amazing, I loved the animation technology of the vehicles. I can only imagine eventually with AI technology the vehicles will randomly start, stop and travel where they want without the guide wires or magnets. Can't wait for the HO scale robotic figures walking around LOL 😂... Great work, loved the layout👍.
Hi mate and thanks for the comment. I guess you could do the moving cars by remote control which I’ve seen but didn’t like the way they moved and as for walking people then I think that’s a little way off but good thought though, I will settle with what I have for now though. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Graham, I am amazed by this CAR Motion system. You mentioned you could install magnetic tape to the roadbed. As opposed to the wire you installed for the Filler vehicle system. Well I have a question. If you don't know the he answer that's fine as I'm certain there is a Lakeside Community member who may. Come Christmas 2023 it will be my 65th anniversary of RxR modeling alone. Though I have worked with exposed magnetic tape never have I used it atop a roadbed. So, after adhering the tape to the road, can you paint & weather, the tape surface, to disguise and blend it into the layout hues? Without impacting the connectivity of the tape. This CAR-Motion system is a game changer for our hobby. After the first of the year I will definitely begin online searching the systems adaptability for my future upgrades. My eldest grandson is in the U.S.M.C. stationed in Germany. So if I decide TO GIVE IT A GO I will definitely be calling Daniel into action to send some Modeling RxR care packages back home to Grumpy.😊 Thank you for introducing it to all of us. Jim in N.Y., U.S.A.
What an amazing bit of kit, how do the trucks interact with the Faller buses?.for example with both trucks and faller buses running together ,if the trucks are running faster than the bus in front ,it will crash into it ,surely. Great video and explanation
Hi Colin and thank you for the comment, as they stand at the moment then the new trucks will not interact with the Faller buses as they are completely different systems but Viessmann do sell an aftermarket kit which is a rear sensor so maybe I will be able to fit one of those to the rear of the bus but if not then as I only have one Faller bus then it can sit in a bus stop for now until I sort something out. This is just the beginning of the journey for me so a little more time is needed while I progress this system further so please bare with me on this. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………….Graham
Hi Graham Great stuff, I got myself a couple of these, love the way they operate, but they are huge compared to Faller Car System vehicles that I already have, more OO than HO methinks even though stated HO Regards Alan
Hi Alan and thanks for the comment, I agree, they do seem bigger than the Faller but I don’t mind that to be honest, they seem to be more in scale with the other vehicles I have on the High Street, the Faller vehicles seemed a bit on the small side so personally, I’m pleased about their size. 👍🏻. Cheers. ……….Graham
Hi Graham I’ve recently watched a video comparing the two systems and I must say the Faller trucks look even bigger. I only have some cars and a couple of small era Iii coaches to compare them with and as said against these they look big. But I love the way they work and interact with each other, so if they introduce some cars I will probably go over to the Veissmann system Regards Alan
Hi Graham, I also saw these vehicles at GETS and was amazed by them. I also have a Faller car system, and hope sometime in the future it will be possible to retro fit the infra red sensors to the faller vehicles so they can run on the same system simultaneously without crashing into each other. Meanwhile - can I ask how you enable the indicators to work - do they sense when the truck turns and come on automatically or do you have to program them using the software to come on ? and if so how do they know when to come on and turn off again once on a straight bit of road ? Thanks Rob
Hi Rob and many thanks for the comment. The infrared sensors are available from Viessmann as a retrofit so it appears that they could be fitted to the Faller vehicles although I’m not 100% on that yet, so I need to make enquiries about that. As regards the indicators, at the moment then I am just using the hand hand controller to activate them, they go off after a set period of time so no need to cancel them. As far as I know then they don’t sense when the vehicle is turning but I maybe wrong on that, it might be that they can be activated through the downloadable software but I haven’t got that far yet to be honest. But it’s no big deal to operate them through the controller if not. Hope that helps a little. Sorry if I’m a little vague but at the moment then this is very new to me and I’m still learning myself! 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Wow! Those trucks are really something special. My first thought on hearing about the automatic slow down approaching another vehicle was how does that work if the other vehicle is a tractor with a trailer. Wouldn't the trailer interfere with the sensors? Nonetheless they are a giant step forward in the hobby. Kudos to the designers.
Thank you for the comment and indeed, these trucks are something special. The trailers also have sensors on the back and a fine cable which plugs into the tractor unit and so it reacts just the same when another vehicle approaches from behind, these rear facing sensors are also sold a separate item and so can be utilised elsewhere on other vehicles/trailers. Hope that helps. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi - it looks a really great system and lots of fun. I couldn't see any buses available on their website (and am guessing they'd be left-hand models as they're a German company). I'm guessing it would be very difficult or even impossible to convert a Britbus/EFE model onto a Viessmann chassis (way beyond my limited abilities anyway) especially given the weight. Perhaps one of the old plastic Tower Models RT/RMs, or I've got a couple of very nice plastic RFs? Very nice video anyway, thanks.
Hi mate and thank you for the comment. Viessmann have not made any buses or cars as yet but hopefully they will in the near future. I’m sure as you say they will be left hand drive as all there trucks are but I have converted mine over to right hand drive which was a simple process. Once the buses are produced then I will look into converting those too, if they need a new body shell on them to represent a more U.K. bus then it would need to be plastic to keep the weight down - I had to do this with the Faller bus which worked out ok in the end but I couldn’t control the speed of it unlike these vehicles from Viessmann which are completely controllable. Cheers. …………Graham
Hi Brian and thank you for the comment, there is a retrofit rear assembly available which would work as long I can find out how to power it on a Faller vehicle although I don’t think that would be too much of a problem, whether it would work I don’t know until I tried it though. Cheers. ……….Graham
Hi Graham. They are cracking vehicles you have and the added benefit of being compatible with the existing Faller system. They cost a bob or two but I can’t criticise as I have just spent £70 on two HO scale Model T Ford vehicles. A tourer and a flatbed truck and they are static models, both in Henry Ford’s black. More work for you to do and more for us to see. Looking forward to the contusing episodes of ‘The Lock’. Best, Jason.
Hi Jason and thank you for the comment, I love these vehicles, just because of the way they interact with each other if nothing else. But there is so much more which can be done with them, I’ve only shown a little of what they can do but seeing other YT videos then there is so much more, one chap has even got them working through DCC on his Z21 controller - another reason why I went for these as I have a Z21, given a little more time (and knowledge) then I hope to do that too. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham - Just bought my first Viessmann Car Motion truck and have it working on my layout with Indicators - (for example it requires 3 magnets S N S polarity to get a left flashing indicator. However - There is a downside - my original Faller vehicles all STOP when they roll over these magnets and require a physical push over the magnets to get them moving again. But again stop at the next magnet command installed for the Car Motion vehicles. Just wondering if you have come across this issue when using your original faller vehicles since you installed magnets for the Car Motion on your layout, for instance at the zebra crossings ? Thanks Rob.
Hi Rob and yes, exactly the same thing for me although I do only have one Faller bus.Not sure how to overcome this to be honest. The thing which makes it stop is the hall switch on the vehicle operating when it passes over the magnets. The Viessmann and Faller operate on a different principle although they can both use the guide wire. Apart from disconnecting the hall switch on the Faller bus then I can’t think of another way around it - yet! Cheers. …………Graham
Fantastic Graham, could you get a trailer for the red one and it would be good if you had a policeman with a speeding gun flashing/speed camera when a lorry goes past. Many thanks Harry
Hi Harry and thank you. Yes I will be getting a trailer for the red one once they come in stock, they’re out of stock of all trailers at the moment but as soon as they arrive then I will get one. I like the idea of a policeman with a radar gun! 👍🏻. Cheers. ………….Graham
I'm sorry to hear you were ill, but being the star you are, you overcame it like a true trooper. Smashing little auto'd lorries to sit back and watch, Gee. At £200 a pop, it's too OTT for my wallet, but I can see the appeal of this system for Lakeside. Enjoy my friend, and once fully installed, you will have to do a follow-up on them working.
Thank you my friend for the very kind comment and as always, it’s greatly appreciated, as soon as I have these trucks slowing down and stopping as they should then I will do another video of them, maybe by then I will also have a trailer for the the maroon truck as long as they become in stock at the supplier. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Les and thank you for the comment. I personally think that because of what’s inside these trucks as regards the electronics and tech then they are a reasonable price but I guess that’s subjective to the end user. They were left hand drive when I bought them - being manufactured in Germany then that’s no surprise - so I took the cab off and converted them to right hand drive, a pretty simple process which I needed to do as I knew I would get picked up on that by a few folk. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham, you say the cars stop for 10 seconds and you did program that, do I need to put a magnetstop ( faller 161675) into the track ore can it be done with the small magnets from Viessmann ( Viessmann 8431) how do they stop there
No, you don’t need a Faller stop, you use a series of three magnets - two to slow it down and one to stop it for a predetermined time you set in the vehicle. Cheers. ………Graham
I appreciate that this is not for everyone Alan but I just though that I would share this anyway, it’s food for thought for some folk I guess if they haven’t seen this before, just something a little different. Cheers. …………Graham
Blimey. You're the fifth person who's said they were down with sickness & diarrhoea last weekend (including me) , though you're the only one that was at GETS, so not related to that. Must be something going round. Loved how the brake lights came on on the red truck when it slowed to match the blue one. All very clever! Also amazing that it's compatible with the Faller system. Are those two trucks from DCC Automation special for the UK market with OO bodies? They didn't look too underscale trundling along your high street, which some HO vehicles can.
Hi Andrew, I don’t think it was anything to do with GETS, apparently there is a bug of some form going about which I think is what I picked up, I’m still suffering from it now ! These vehicles from Viessmann are HO and are aimed at the European market as all are LHD from the factory, but I have converted these two to RHD by swapping the driver and steering wheel over to the correct side! 😂. You are right though, I thought that they would look too small on the layout against the other vehicles I have but they seem to blend in ok with the rest and don’t look out of place, we’ll not in my opinion anyway. Cheers. ……….Graham
Hi Graham, sorry to hear you were sick but on the mend now. I LOVE your trucks very much, but you mentioned you would like to have moving people, I have a suggestion ( it might not worth a hill of beans, but I have faith in you ) why couldn't you used the same system as your two cycles and some how get the people to move like the bikers? Also, maybe your red truck that keeps stopping is because you don't have a trailer attached and it is too light to go over that level in roadway.... Regards, Warren
Hi Warren and thanks for the comment, it is feasible to have people walking across the crossing but would involve a fair bit of work both for the crossing itself and also the people - I will think on that. The maroon truck only stops where it does because that section of the road is slightly out of align with the other section - one single screw would sort that out, it’s just a little too high at the joint but thank you anyway. Cheers. …………Graham
That is fantastic. What a wonderful way to animate your layout. They are so real, even to the brakelights coming on when the following vehicle slows down. I look forward to seeing more about these. Does the tractor have a standard trailer fitting that would allow you to interchange trailers?
Hi Michael and thank you for the comment. Yes, any of the tractor units which can haul a trailer has the ability to do so either by a small hook on the back or to utilise the standard method of a swivel/ramp method as used in the real tractor units. So both types of trailers are accounted for. Cheers. …………..Graham
I rejected the Faller system because the vehicles were geared to run too fast for city streets. I hadn't heard of this system until today (2/24/24). The slow speed is much more realistic. My modelling is HO. Are these scaled 1:87, 1:76, or something in between? Thanks.
Hi mate, these are German and so are 1:87 (HO) although to me they fit in quite well with OO too. Hope that helps but be warned, there is very little for sale, if you look at the German Viessmann website as well as the U.K. site then most is out of stock and has been like that for months despite promises of stock becoming available. Just a few trucks that’s all. Very disappointing to be honest. Cheers. …………Graham
Thanks. I'm between layouts at this time, but if I can find any Viessmann product here in north America, I will try to incorporate it into my new railroad.@@GrahamFoulston
@@avlisk Well I hope you can find an outlet who stock them for you, the actual products are great, I really like them, it’s just a lack of stock both in Germany and the U.K. which is the problem - hopefully you will have more luck in the US! 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Keith, each truck costs about £200 (ish) depending what one you get, the hand controller is about £16, the magnets etc come in the starter kit. Additionally you will need some magnetic tape or the Faller wire which is what I have used. The link to DCC Train Automation I in the description . Hope that helps. Cheers. …………Graham
Good Morning Graham, sorry i missed you at GETs. The viessmann car system is incredible.
Hi mate and it was tough trying to see everyone at GETS because of the crowds but never mind, maybe another time! Yes, the Viessmann system is absolutely fantastic, so excited about it and can’t wait to develop this even more. Cheers. …………Graham
Amazing! Fabulous addition to the layout. Arthur
Hi Arthur and many thanks for the comment and I’m so pleased that you like this new addition to Lakeside, as you can gather, I’m over the moon with these trucks and all they can do, they are going to give me so much enjoyment in the future. Cheers. ………….Graham
Clever stuff. I like that.
Thanks mate and I’m pleased that you like them, I certainly do! 👍🏻. Cheers. ………….Graham
Glad to see you are better Graham those trucks are brilliant a really nice addition to your brilliant layout
Cheers. ………..Graham

Hi Peter and thank you for the comment, I’m really happy with these two trucks and have bought the high street to life with just that bit of movement. Still not 100% yet with this bug I’ve picked up, just doesn’t seem to be shifting but it will go eventually. 👍🏻. Cheers.

Cheers. …………Graham
Great spot of those Trucks! What a queue at the carpark I was just in front you, good job it wasn't raining. Regards Steve
Hi Graham 👍 it was an absolute pleasure to meet you at GETS on Sunday and thank you for taking the timeout to have a chat.

Cheers. ……….Graham

Cheers. ………..Graham

Hi David and many thanks for the comment.
Nothing makes you feel more stupid than going over like a bowling pin!
Hi mate and been there, done it and bought the T shirt as the saying goes. I can remember getting up and preying nothing really happened just in case anyone was watching! 😂😂. So I know exactly how you feel but it probably made someone laugh at your misfortune, no doubt given a little time then you will probably have a wee smirk to yourself - always good to laugh at yourself! 😂😂. @@GrahamFoulston Well, you've no right to laugh at anybody else if you can't laugh at yourself? I think I got away with it unobserved (this time!). Cheers Graham.

Good video Mate. All well explained. Mine is getting close. Another few days and it will arrive. I bought magnets but they won’t be marked for north and south so I’ll have to get a reference magnet. cheers
👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Brillanr graham is absolutely fantastic what we can do with our layout now absolute fantastic good video hope ur feeling better mate take care 🚂🚂🚂
Hi Adam and indeed, the more the technology improves then the more we can all benefit from it, this for me is going to be so much fun and will creat more movement for the layout which is always what I wanted apart from trains. Hopefully on the mend now and should be 100% again in a few days! 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
nice video, yes there is also a vw beetle in the car motion range I belive.
👍🏻. Cheers. ………….Graham
G'Day Graham, I bought Volume 4 of Great Layouts, a magazine just arriving on our shelves in Oz. And who's layout is featured - Lakeside by G Foulston. Wow!
Hi David and wow, what can I say!! Fantastic! 👍🏻👍🏻. I wonder what photos and text they used to feature the layout ? So I’m now famous in Oz. 😂😂. Cheers for letting me know mate, much appreciated. …………Graham
Oh no Graham, what have you done, its going to put my grandson's mind into overdrive when he sees them. They look brilliant though don't they, and should be a great addition to your layout, cheers James 😊👍
Hehe, I can see your Grandson now my friend, you might have to hide this video from him! I’m so excited about developing this system for the layout, it has so much potential but obviously it will take a little time to develop it completely but I will get there in the end! 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
@GrahamFoulston I think you're right there, Graham. I may well have to hide it from it. They really do look good and help animate and bring more life and interest to the layout. I've got my grandson booked in for a layout planning and design clinic with Paul Lunn next Saturday. Hopefully, that will be interesting and informative for him. He's hoping to build a small 009 layout 🙂👍

Hi Graham. It was a massive disappointment to not get to meet you on Sunday! But at the same time I am more sorry that you were ill and I hope you have recovered now. What with Covid and one thing or another (ususally illness!) it seems that I am never destined to meet you lol. But I am sure we will one day. Loved this video though and like John said, I will be following this with interest (along with a number of your other projects hehe) 😊 Take care and happy modelling
Cheers. …………Graham
The ways of spending more and more money on our layouts is never ending but it is really cool and adds more movement and fun to a layout.👍👍👍
Exactly John and they are the two main reasons I got this, for movement and more importantly - fun. Love them. Cheers. ………..Graham
Wow what an amazing piece of kit! they went round first time great! Considering you hadn’t laid the track with lorries in mind,
I wonder when they will bring out sound for the lorries 😂 complete with horn and flashing head lights when they have to slow down to the vehicle in front
👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Hi Graham, I’m wondering how long a truck will run for on a full charge…..? 35:15
Hi John, they (Viessmann) say that they should last for about 2 hours continuous running. Hope that helps. Cheers. ………..Graham
Cheers. …………Graham
@GrahamFoulston My daughter still suffering 3 weeks later. It is real nasty....Bob
@@trainmanbob. Oh no, that terrible to have it that long, I hope mine doesn’t last that long!
Hope you are fully recovered. Undoubtedly a marvellous product but considerable technical skill needed to get it to operate.
👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
I need me some of those!
👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Graham,
I am amazed by this CAR Motion system.
So if I decide TO GIVE IT A GO I will definitely be calling Daniel into action to send some Modeling RxR care packages back home to Grumpy.😊
Thank you for introducing it to all of us.

👍🏻. Cheers. ………….Graham
Hi Graham
Great stuff, I got myself a couple of these, love the way they operate, but they are huge compared to Faller Car System vehicles that I already have, more OO than HO methinks even though stated HO
Regards
Alan
Hi Alan and thanks for the comment, I agree, they do seem bigger than the Faller but I don’t mind that to be honest, they seem to be more in scale with the other vehicles I have on the High Street, the Faller vehicles seemed a bit on the small side so personally, I’m pleased about their size. 👍🏻. Cheers. ……….Graham
Hi Graham
I’ve recently watched a video comparing the two systems and I must say the Faller trucks look even bigger. I only have some cars and a couple of small era Iii coaches to compare them with and as said against these they look big. But I love the way they work and interact with each other, so if they introduce some cars I will probably go over to the Veissmann system
Regards
Alan
Cheers. …………Graham
Is there a way to add the necessary rear facing lights to a Faller vehicle to prevent the Viessman vehicles from crashing into them?
Many thanks
Harry
Cheers. ………..Graham
A very impressive piece of kit albeit a bit pricey. It's interesting to see that the vehicles are right hand drive.
Cheers. ………Graham
It's above my needs mate. If you can master it ? well done Sir. Regards Al :o)

Regards,
Warren

What does that system cost? How much are additional vehicles? It’s very cool.
Hi Keith, each truck costs about £200 (ish) depending what one you get, the hand controller is about £16, the magnets etc come in the starter kit.
