It's a bit of an Amber/Danni situation, though comparing them is an insult to Gabler, who actually played. Instead, what you might see upon rewatching the show, is that eventually Cassidy's robotically poor social game (which I compared to Spencer a couple of times) really started to show. Gee whiz, by a little more obvious that you really want Jesse to lose fire, would you? This will definitely earn you his vote, as well as everyone who wanted him to win. Was the jury a little bitter? Maybe. But Cassidy made them bitter.

I appreciate the confidence and immediacy. "Gabler, do you think you could beat Jesse at fire?" No hesitation, no big thing, instant honest answer, "Yeah."
Watching an overconfident player like Ellie get her comeuppance was so satisfying to watch. Jeanine/Ellie searching Gabler's bag day 3 and then trying to convince him that his idol was expired was EXTREMELY unneeded, risky, and cocky. Even if that move does work, it is way too soon in the game and would have painted a huge target on their back. Ellie saying "thats what you get for trusting Gabler" on her way out was amazing. She has no clue what she is even saying -- lol Gabler's allies trusted him, and his plan worked, Ellie went home. If anything, I would trust Gabler MORE after the Ellie vote -- he made it clear he wanted Ellie to go home, didnt flip, and got the numbers together to send her home.
Ellie saying that on the way out also guaranteed Gabler could take credit for getting her voted out without being challenged. She might've helped him in the Final Tribal without realizing it since that was what he claimed as his biggest move.
I love Cody for that handshake after getting voted out. You could see him think it through and realize it's a game and isn't personal. Overall I really liked this cast.
I don’t think you mentioned it in this video, but it’s worth noting that Sami from this season wasn’t actually 22, he was 19. Haven’t watched the secrets video yet, but hopefully it’s mentioned there since it wasn’t here.
I feel we’re already getting to the point where people can see and respect Gabler’s game. I just wish people would not overreact on social media and let these winners enjoy their moment.

I remember predicting that Gabler would win if in a F3 with Cassidy and Owen, and people were calling me crazy for doing so. It's funny looking back at all those people in retrospect, Gabler really never got enough credit for his game and sadly still hasn't gotten a lot after the finale.

@@OnceUponAnIsland so true. The attention grabbers. Enjoyed watching them too. I was on the edge of my seat the last couple of episodes with them still in the game.

Heck, I never understood all the Cassidy hype but once it was the final three I just figured she would win because of all the hype.
it’s crazy that in the final seven, gabler new that he could beat cassidy and owen, and couldn’t beat cody, jessie, or karla. crazy how they all went out in a row, coincidence, i think NOT
Despite it not being that long ago, the online discourse with a lot of survivor fans (largely to do with factors OFF the island) being that Gabler didn’t deserve his win and that Cassidy was robbed is genuinely one of the more frustrating narratives thats ever come about for me. Among that final 3, Gabler far and away deserved it most. I found Cassidy to be one of the more frustrating players in recent memory to watch - with her moves almost exclusively rooted in personal animosity that occasionally happened to align with the actual power players plans - rather than any actual strategical prowess by her. Then to turn her nose up at anyone who suggested she played anything other than a dominant, aware and strategic game was the nail in her coffin. Jesse carried the gameplay 98% of the way and she decided to take a knee while Gabler picked up the fumble and scored a Touchdown.
Jesse was my favorite this season and I really wanted him to win, however I really did come to respect Gablers game after watching this video and I am super happy that he won.
I would love to see just about half this cast return to play: Gabler, Owen, Jesse, Karla, Cody, Sami, Noelle, Ellie and even Cassidy would be a good returnee. 43 is a great season
