    The brightness and size are great along with being able to put in on a tripod. The thing that kills it for me is the lack of HD. 480p is too low for my tastes. 1080p or at least a 720p version would make me want one.

    This projection performance has been available in miniature devices for at least ten years now. In other words it is ten years out of date. However decent the colours and image looked here - this type of projector is just a toy you will tire of it quickly. The 480 pixel horizontal resolution (240 lines) looks truly awful on video. The brightness of 50 lumens minimises picture size you can comfortably watch, even in the dark.
    The 160 PPI figure was I guess for the touch screen on the device...Not projected image...On an 80 inch screen that is about 10 pixels an inch. The colours here looked nice and punchy...I'm suspicious of his camera work here, I think his camera was doing a better job than the human eye. The text on a 480 pixel display is normally close to unreadable...This text must have been gigantic.
    If you do want a good cheap portable projector with 20,000 hours lamp life and 720p display for cheap you can do worse than look at the forgotten Casio projectors. I bought one for £70.00 which still had 15,000 hours left on the lamp and gave 1200 lumens. If you are careful setting up it can also look very, very good. Some of these have an issue with DLP failure (the mirrors stick leaving a display of tiny white dots) If you avoid those (They should all be thrown away or repaired by now) they are incredibly reliable and Casio gave a lifetime warranty. They must have spent a fortune developing the light engine for these things - They are still unique with a combination laser and LED, I have nothing to do with Casio.
    EDIT..I have not looked at the projector market for a while...There may well be things better than I recommended..You can let me know if you have looked/are in the know.

      480 is rather poor. Four years ago I had a portable battery operated Android DLP projector, and that was 720 native. But its LED lamp failed after about 2 years, not replaceable.

      @@michaelturner4457 LED is still hard with 2000+ and new ones are tests that fail, when you can by an OEM bulb for less then $100 that lasts 6000hrs, what you save on kwh will cost you on LEDs or entire unit. I use econo setting on my epson 1080p and uses about 200watts.

    Android 7.0 is rather old to be on a new device. Current Android is 10.0, with 11 to be released in the next month or so. And eventually Google, RUclips, Netflix etc. could stop supporting 7.0, like they ceased supporting older versions

    • @fontende
      @fontende 3 года назад

      That's really sad because 7 by my experience have the best battery saving function, also called doze. On earlier 6, 8 and later releases(with new features like Bluetooth streaming) the battery much worse. The not used smartphone can be in sleep mode on 7th OS for whole month, I tested that many times, esp clean OS without Facebook or other crapware .

    • @fontende
      @fontende 3 года назад

      Also on 9th OS Xiaomi modded Google's digital security menu module and data collection cannot be turned off at all, what Google made for children control are used against adults, so they openly spying or wiretapping everything you click. On older OSes it can't be made such way, mostly by engineers menu additional stat collection module. Thanks Android developers for making bad companies work easier.

      Because of the myth that LEDs wont fail. Its the same with LED bulbs. At really was like that 10years ago. Problem: since then LEDs get overdriven very bad... In projectors, in TVs, in bulbs, everywhere. Too much current, not enough cooling. As soon as they get hot (~60C or more), the lifespan will reduce drastically. If you just reduce the brightness by ~30% on those devices, they will last much much longer. (10+ years instead of sometimes less then 3 years)

    Sorry, but this is cheap.
    They didn't even bother licensing the HDMI port and called it "HD" instead.
    Good to see its at least a DLP projector, but damn, 480p native is rather poor. Portable 1080p projectors can be had for under 500€ (that includes a good OS with licenses for DTS / DTS -HD playback !). 720p for less than 300€. Anything below 720p is either cheap crap, or overpriced crap.
