I remember when you built the seed cleaner that in itself is quite an accomplishment. And then to see that row of refurbished bins you have a lot to be proud of. Congratulations. Excellent work.
That would be better than money in the bank; commodity price goes up, so does net worth. Did I see that they had a spreadsheet with all bins to show capacity and contents?
I can beat that bin movement. Years ago, about 40, maybe longer . I bought a 21 7 ring bin. I jacked it up and built a stone boat under it and lagged it o. I had already measured that it would fit across the bridge on a county road. Hooked jd 7520 to it and started down th middle of the road with a loader tractor following to ensure it lined up with guardrails on the bridge I had already cut the pasture fence and had permission to cut across neighbors land. Firs, and only car that came along behind was nys police car. He rolled down the window and looked at t bin in the middle of the road. "Where are you going with that" was his question. " through that hole in the fence" was my reply as I motioned tractor driver to roll on. . We only had to get under one power transmission line. Made it. With room to spare, but don't remember by how much. Latter, used same stoneboat to move 18 ft bin to my brother's place, crossing bridge on town road.
More of a spectacular job doing this with 3 guys and a tractor ,than space x and a rocket ,definitely more skill and much more use ,well done Team Welker resourceful as ever.
Surface rust: Super-easy correction process. Apply rust converter chemical (it will dry and turn the rust black)...let it dry (4-hours max). Then apply galvanizing spray (12 oz cans from Lowe's), you're done. Repair stops the rust and lasts for many years.
Truly inspirational. It is people like you all that makes America great. Using recycled equipment and fabricating what you need. It must be stressful working day and out with family. But you all make it work. Love the videos.
Brings back memories of moving bins in NW KS. A pretty formidable sight coming down the highway at you I’m sure. Fortunately, we only had to jack them up and slide the beams underneath them, bolt down to tags and head down (up) the highway.
It's been dry here in Southern NJ, no soaking rain in two, three months. Decent harvest but high fire threat for both the woodlands and the farm fields. Supposed to get rain tomorrow.
Thanks for the interesting and informative video. Was an enjoyable one to watch. Appreciate the way you, Bob, explain the seed cleaning process to us. That was interesting. Lots of steps to the process. You made a number of trips up and down those bin steps Bob. Wow. Thanks again for showing us the process for cleaning the seed. You all got the bins back together again in good shape. Seems you all did real good with project of movement those bins. Good work Welkers. Blessings to you all. The Iowa farm boy. Steve 🇺🇸🇺🇸😊🙏👍✅
I am amazed at the number of times grain gets moved by augers - seed bin to air drill and into the ground. Harvested by the combine and then to a grain cart or truck, from the grain cart or truck to destination elevator or manufacturing facility for storage there or to on farm bin storage for later sale to the destination elevator or manufacturing facility, Destination elevator or manufacturing facility will auger it around their facilities to meet their needs. The elevators will then ship the grain out in trainload lots to manufacturing facilities or export elevators at ports to be loaded into ships and be distributed throughout the world - and on and on.
Nice looking row of bins. Hopefully you can that concrete pad poured before winter and mount that last one so it doesn’t take to flight. I hope you need ALL of those bins for years to come.
Seeing Mr Welker with a handful of stones immediately reminded me of an old book we had at home when I was a kid, "Stone Soup." It was always fun when mom read it to me and my two younger sisters. You might not have heard of the book if you're younger. Give it a look.
great video, remember the one Leg Arms was riding that 3' auger while getting all the bin footings set, then a fantastic series of building the pea cleaner, that was epic. Next pouring the slabs for the new bins now setting them in place. This video shows years of work all coming together. You don't usually run the pea cleaner alone glad you managed to film and not miss something. Golly you even cracked a joke about John Travolta. Fantastic, take care all, stay safe.
I've used shell Rotella and a gallon of Lucas till 20000 miles, 5 trucks no issues. The truck I drive with a cat has almost 2 million miles. I say use what works for you
If you put down lime and mulch of some sort. Cover it with whatever you can and it will break up that clay and turn into beautiful , soil. The problem is finding some kind of tarp(s) to cover the acreage you are dealing with. It will work though! God bless
Your videos are absolutely awesome! God bless you all, and Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to you all! Me and my full belly thank you for farming!
Great video. I was wondering while watching your last video whether we would see the pea cleaner this year. I watched with great interest last winter while you fabricated the cleaner and was eager to see it in action again.
Well, it did look so easy. But i know it isn"t. Respect for the way you did it. And nice to see the: value added work on the p"s. Hope it will pay out. Wish you blessings. See you with pleasure!
It is good to see you up and giving your sons a serious run for the money, Bob!!! We are real close in age and I only wish I had your get-up-and-go. You sprinted up that bin stairs without so much as a wheeze or heavy breathing. You and Coby the Wonder Hound should have your own fitness hannel!!
Good job getting all the engines motors and augers going to get the grai cleaned and into the right bis for storage. Also take advantage of time and weather getting grain cleaned and stored for next year. Hope you get more moisture ahead of 2025 season.😊
Speaking for myself, I would have loved to see some of the finessing putting the bins together. I have some similar projects to do someday. Even if I didn't it would have been interesting to see. I think you were so late details like what brand name grain bins they were?. Did you have to use the same brand name grain bin rings on the bottom? What did those end up costing? To me these project videos are even better than most field videos. Thank for sharing.
Dry as hell in eastern Canada also.should have all kinds of water for this time of year .River is down prob 10 feet .The localspring a lot of people get their drinking water from is dry
The grains are unloaded by simply tipping the truck and are stacked higher up with a loader, and emptied with the same loader and therefore there is no need to pay for electricity or anything else.
If you were looking to save money, yet poured the wrong sized pad for the 2nd 24' bin. Is it possible to use the side rings of the 4th bin, adding them on the 1st 24' bin to make that double the height and simply not use the roof? Or is that not a possibility due to structural strength and possible collapse? I remember you adding steel shanks or stays in bins previously to help strengthen the sides. That way you just have to find a used bin for the smaller pad!
So is there any market for the cleaned peas compared to the uncleaned ones other than for your planting. Guessing it wouldn’t be worth running anymore through than you need. Does a great job 👏
Thousands of years ago, I think that geography was covered by ocean, so the soil is very sandy, it is a very difficult terrain, and it must have been really tiring to struggle with thousands of acres of land.
Space X doesnt have anything on you, your work is Epic just in a different way. here in n oklahoma we have been needing rain most of the year but have gotten some rain finally here in november!! we had a small rotary cleaner that we cleaned wheat and small grains with that i had modified with fans and a power control switch bank was a good old cleaner! whatdo you do with the clean outs we had a grinder mixer and feed pigs or cattle????
Who else remembers when they were storing grain in the building and in a pile on the ground. They have come a long way
Me 😂
@@jacmccauley7581 that was our last good year! We're due for a year like that.
That's how we still do it at our farm in with eastern Wisconsin.
@@WelkerFarms What year was that?
@WelkerFarms 2025 is gonna be a good year but I think 2026 is going to be a bin buster. If the good lord is willing.
Always like hearing dad Welker talking about the farm and family. All of you do a great job. Thank you for sharing

I sure would like to see the year you guys fill all your bins ! You sure are due for a great year !

Nice to see Bob has a pickup again! And I love the Re-Pete!
Hope you fill everything next year. Praying for you.
It is great when Bob gets camera time. Of course Nick and Scott are "naturals" in front of a camera. Thank you for sharing and explaining.

American ingenuity and innovation. God bless you guys!

Thank you for your service, Steve.
Glad to see you all are doing well. I hope this year you fill every bin and need to use the shed again for some. Stay safe and healthy.
Mr Bob, you got a new pickup? I'm glad for you! Thanks for taking us along, Mr Bob. I always love hearing your thoughts!
I really enjoy Bob explaining how everything works on the farm. That pea cleaning equipment you built was amazing!
This family seems to always be busy. Some hard working people out there on these farms in Montana.
Love all the storage!
Profit, Profit, profit!

God bless Welker farms ❤!

You guys are really fun to watch! Thanks for sharing your life with us!
I love the Pulp Fiction reference and we need more story time with Bob ;)
Thanks for the dates. Nice to know the timeframe
I was a bolted oilfield tank repairman, your grain tanks are similar
You are flying congratulations with your what's your project..

Amazing video guys. Thank you
We appreciate you watching!
In Europe we have large warehouses of more than a thousand square meters with concrete walls at a height of four meters or more.
Looking good!! We did the same thing this year, moved a bunch of field bins to home and extended them except we put them all on hoppers.

Nice to have more on farm storage.
You guys should Patton that grain cleaner. And boys, your dad is awesome the way he climbs those bin steps and just keeps going. Awesome
Don't forget the angle iron bin stiffneners
Good job and I will pray for a bumper crop next year hopefully fill all of them plus

No, just needed to be 2.65 in ridging. Most all sheets are same length for same diameter

trying to reconnect those bin pieces would cause me to talk dirty, ha ha good work lads
Bin there, Done that. Great team work !
With the rain this fall you guys will need those new bins come next year.
Your hard work surely doesn't go unnoticed, best of luck for next season!!
Did u caulk between those joints🤫🤫were you put bins back together!! 3” holes Mr Bob!!😂. Thanks so much sir for bringing us along !!
What's caulk..........😊
Your dad is amazing. Your brother in Christ.
I hope all your new to you bins get filled next year.
Epic farm family doing epic things!
May the Lord bless you with full bins in 25.
Dad’s a working machine! Old school hustle.
While it doesn't get much use, that crane attachment is an integral part of your farming program. 👍
Bob you do a lot better on those stairs than I would.
Awesome project!
I think the bins are just as epic as as the chop sticks ....
Knew yall could get it done.
I guarantee you that putting those bins back together was a lot harder than you made it look. Pretty work!
As usual... Bob is doing all the work..... come on Nick and Scott... lol
Great video. Thanks.
You Guy`s are Awesome
Awesome stuff guys!
Boys! Don’t cut yourself short!!! It’s epic!
I'm thinking the added bins increased the sale value of the farm by about $50k over the purchase cost.
@@donbrutcher4501 let's sell!! 😁
I hope you’re having a grain day. 😂 that is for you Dad and his bad Dad jokes.
And I'm not just talking about farmers, but also about large corporations that store thousands of tons in warehouses with concrete walls and floors.

Hey guys it's good to see you got the straw boss out there today AKA Kobe
Love watching. Your video, question on if you put stiffeners in, we had to to stop bin crush??
Did you get the spring wheat custom cleaned because your cleaner works better with larger size grain varieties ?
Did get Andy to clean the wheat
Would it be worth it or practical to lease out some of your surplus bin storage capacity to your neighbours if they required it? 🇨🇦 Abbotsford BC

Very interesting video. Thanks
A used Caterpillar or Volvo loader of, for example, 20 tons can fill a truck in five minutes.

You don't have to use electricity or augers that wear out and break down.
