Don't get too discouraged, everyone is experiencing material shortages, labor shortages and delays. Just roll with it as best you can, you are not alone 😬

Why do these homes have limited ZIP Sheathing and cardboard everywhere else? I am thinking about building in DFW and seeing cardboard sheathing is making me have second thoughts. My current home built in 97 has OSB and Tyvek sheathing. I cannot believe in 2021 they are using freaking card board. I hope that Dryline is over Zip. Maybe I am wrong but I have seen cardboard used in DFW during my research.

Well if you like OSB then many builders use it, just be careful that you make sure the Tyvek is perfectly installed or you can have water penetration since OSB does not resist it. Also ZIP isn't cardboard, not sure if you just making a point or really think it is a paper product. This is a pretty good place to learn why builders switched to it: buildingadvisor.com/zip-sheathing-vs-plywood-housewrap/
ZIP is not my favorite product, but it does create a great wind/water barrier around homes with far fewer mistakes being made since it is simple to install.
      Thanks for watching...

@@TheLivingWellTeam I made the point OSB and Tyvek was used on my old house. Seeing homes built with thermo ply cardboard type sheathing makes me cringe. Zip is much better than OSB and cardboard. If these builders are throwing up cardboard homes and wanting 700k for them I need to really shop for a good builder. Here I am thinking building has advanced in 2021 and they are now using cardboard walls. I cannot fathom why homes in tornado alley with no basements are being made with cardboard sheathing. I am so glad I found your channel because I was looking at some of those builders to build a home in DFW. Thanks to your videos I know I have to carefully choose who builds my home.

You’re either up very late or very early working on this edit. Either way, I respect your work ethic for your clients, sir.
