Then try it after 4-5hrs of intensive match-play! These guys are machines!
Sinner reaped the benefits of winning efficiently. Medvedev’s fight was admirable, surviving three 5-setters, coming back from 0-2 down twice. But he also was putting himself in bad positions. He didn’t need to drop sets against Borges and Machac, definitely could’ve closed out Ruusuovori faster too. He paid the price here for not winning efficiently, whereas Sinner ran through Rublev, Khachanov, and Djokovic while only dropping one set total.
You can see by his reaction when he breaks at 5-1 in the second that he's very much calm and confident that he can play better tennis despite the unfavourable score. Amazing personality and level of tennis!
I didn’t know Sinner was such a mental beast..even more remarkable at his young age. Knowing you’re capable of playing great tennis and actually able to execute in clutch situations are 2 different things altogether..hats if to Jannik and well deserved AO champ!
He did it step by step and became slowly better unlike Alcaraz. He changed coach last year and half way through you could see already the improvement in his first serve, fitness and mental strength
I’ve followed Sinner from the very beginning. I’ve always said that he has the game needed to be a champion, but what has changed the most about him and what has brought him over the top (besides the developments in his forehand and serve) is his belief in himself and his complete sense of composure on court. I really think that aspect has come a long way under Darren Cahill. He’s been showing us a champion’s mentality for the past few months, and the only thing that was really missing was the major championship. It was an inevitability and I can’t be any happier for him and his team.
Meddy clearly running on fumes given previous matches, but he still managed to bring some serious energy in the first two sets. Absolutely commendable work, but unfortunately it was not enough. Congrats to Jannik! 🇮🇹
I feel like the outcome would have been different had Medvedev not been so gassed. But that's why a major championship is a marathon, not a sprint. Meddy's performance was commendable. I feel bad for the guy. All that said, Sinner deserves this and he's staking his claim for the top of the men's game right now. What a beast.
@@papigringo5692you can also say sinner has nervous for first 2 sets and didn't bring our his best game.... he started playing his natural game from 3rd set...
Congrats to Sinner. A great player. Have to also say Meddy was unfairly scheduled, exhausted from 5 set late night, early morning matches. Not as fresh as his young rival. Such is tennis snd such is Australian Open scheduling. Must be improved.

Probably one of the best runs in the new era of male tennis. That, along his attitude, his mental strength and overall his demeanor on court makes Sinner probably my favorite new generation player.

The strength, fighting spirit and mentality which Sinner had after the second set to keep playing highly in a really tough moment of the match for him, was admirable. This never-ending fight to win AO showed why he deserves this title a lot. Hope the first one of many for this humble and quite talented guy 👈👈👈 🏆 🇮🇹 🎾

Congrats Sinner. Perfect way to win your 1st grand slam coming from 2 sets under. Almost seems like the longer his matches the stronger of player he becomes. This tournament will give him the confidence for the remainder of the year. Well done!
One thing to note: Medvedev had just come off a 5-setter a couple days prior. Dude was gassed by the third. Still so proud of Sinner! I've been saying for ages that he'd be one of the greats of this generation alongside Alcaraz.

Sinner has been SO impressive. Incredible movement, court sense, mental endurance and calm and stalks that baseline. He takes just about everything on the rise and defends so well.
Sinner has the total package, an all around game, shot making, athleticism. But what's most impressive is his composure for someone his age--down two sets to come back and win the Australian Open, like wow. It's too early to compare his career trajectory to the Big 3, but he's the real deal.
Great that quality tennis times have returned. Sinner, the intelligence of Davidenko and the power of Berdych, the speed of Murray and the elegance of Federer.
Credo che Sinner e Alcaraz si alterneranno al N 1 per i prossimi anni, subito dietro Meddy e Zverev. Per ora non vedo nessun altro che possa batterli. Rune se mette la testa a posto e cresce come uomo. i was worried that mens tennis would not get another proper ambassador for the sport post federer but here we are. how refreshing to have another classy, non-grunting champion!
Losing the first two sets probably helped Sinner become less tight so he can actually play his actual aggressive style tennis as well as getting more first serves in because he's got nothin to lose at that point. Med came out swinging harder in the first two sets (higher topspin average than all of his matches in the tournament), but there was no way he could keep that up physically, especially after Sinner loosened up and started firing rockets. Congrats to Sinner for staying strong til the end in all aspects for in his first grand slam final! 🏆
To end it with his signature blistering down the line forehand shot is so fitting. It took many other shots and tactics for him to get there, but it was so satisfying to see. He has grown so much as a player it's astonishing.
What a contrast with yesterday women final where i felt asleep. Only thing that kept waking me up was sabalenka horrible grunts 🤣. Congratulation to Jannik! I'm not gonna lie, I didn't think he would be able to turn this match around after being 2 sets down. Daniil surprised me a lot with his tactic during the first 2 sets where he was so agressive. But what a match from Sinner. What an amazing ball striker he is. He has improved so much since last year. This victory is the 1st of many more to come, as long as he stays healthy.
Yep. From the semis and the final, the Gauff v Sabalenka match was the one that enjoyed watching. I don't know if I'm the only one but the only time I watch Sabalenka play is when she's playing someone i want to watch (in this case, it was Coco). Other than that, I rarely watch her match because of her grunts.@@karenv8351
"Daniil surprised me a lot with his tactic during the first 2 sets where he was so aggressive". That kind of confirms my thought that Daniil stepped on the clutch from the third set on. Is that what happened? Looks like it, by seeing this highlight, as I didn't watch the match. Pity if it is true, as it's gonna become a mark of his GS finals, not being able to close out the championship match.
I heard lots of talks about sinner last year and him barely giving good results apart from the canadian masters. After the later part of the season and specially the atp finals we are finally seeing the potential come to terms with the outcome. Hope to see this top 4 rivalry get more intense this year and may this year not only be djokovic, alcaraz and the rest. Well done champ I really liked his personality and composure in the matches. Reminds me so much of Roger though I am a Novak fan Roger's composure was pure class.
Congratulations Jannik Sinner for your 1st of the many Grand Slam titles ! What a performance, what a turnaround after being totally outplayed in the 1st 2 sets! He has learnt well from his mistakes of 2022 against Djokovic at Wimbledon and Alcaraz at USO. So happy for him! Take a bow Champ! 🎾🏆💯❤️
Sinner has the mentality of a champion, I really really like him -- he doesn't act out or curse or smash rackets, he just gets on with the job like a man
Congratulations to Sinner. He was two sets down, never gave up, and came back to win it. I also loved that winning down the line forehand to take the title. Amazing! Medvedev was gracious in defeat too
Sinner has been truly incredible. This AO he beat Khachanov, Rublev, Djokovic, and Medvedev all back to back, and the scary part was all of them were easy matches except Medvedev. Sinner’s killer instinct is incredible; sure he looked nervous early in this match with Medvedev playing the way he was, but he never panicked, never freaked out, and stayed the course. The moment the third set started, Sinner just never looked bothered, never looked in trouble. He played progressively better as the match went on and the fifth set was definitely his best performance. For Medvedev, I feel pretty bad man. He’s had two gut-wrenching AO losses between this one and Nadal in 2022. Both where he led two sets, but was facing an on-fire opponent who was just destined to win that day. No one can tell me Daniil choked this match. Medvedev had one of the boldest game plans I’ve ever seen by playing super offensive in the first two sets; do yall realize how difficult it is to reach a grand slam final and commit to playing an entirely different style that you’re not fully comfortable with? Medvedev did that, and that’s the reason he won 2 sets here. In the end, I think we all knew Sinner would shake off the nerves and prove his offensive tennis is better than Medvedev’s. And that’s what ended up happening; Sinner asserted himself with those huge groundstrokes while Medvedev was driven back into defending. Medvedev definitely started to feel the effects of the long AO run as well; he has now set the record for most time spent on court at a major ever. The man played four 5-setters in 7 matches, came back from 2 sets down twice, and dropped one set in two other matches. He only had one straight set win. This was an amazing feat of endurance and durability from him, and I bet he’ll have a big season this year. The top of the game looks utterly stacked right now. Djokovic will likely bounce back from this loss, especially during clay season. Medvedev looks as strong and tactical as ever. Alcaraz will come roaring back soon and probably peak for RG-Wimbledon. Zverev has had some of the best slam results of his career lately, and of course Sinner looks like he might be the best player in the world if he keeps it up at this pace. Sinner has won his last two against Alcaraz, 3 of his last 4 against Djokovic, 4 in a row against Medvedev. He was won 9 of his last 10 matches against top 5 players. There no longer seems to be a matchup Sinner is scared of, and if there’s a weakness in his current game, I can’t seem to find it…
The weakness of Sinner is his frequent injuries. If he reaches the number 1 spot it would be a short period of time. I dont see him having a long career
@@javierperez9188Nah, in 2023 he barely got injured. Only a minor one during clay season and it probably only affected him a couple weeks (could’ve even just been fatigue). I think his time in the gym has made him more durable, though I don’t think he’s ever gonna be an iron man type player like Medvedev who can play 5 tournaments in a row with zero wear and tear
Impressed on the stamina of both... medvedev was doing everything correct. He moved the ball side to side making his opponent "tired" . But basically - he was also getting tired and got tired faster thus giving up the winner in key moments. wow!
Jannik anticipation is extraordinarily. He initiates the volley and step up 1-3 times ahead of Medvedev. He didn’t won the AO24 with luck alone, he claimed it with class and honesty✌️🙏👍
To be down 4 breaks to 1 with your only break being a consolation, at 2-0 and 4-4 in the 3rd set, the way he turned that around with two smash and grab breaks at 5-4 was extraordinary
Wow, great match! Incredible stamina from both. Medvedev seemed to keep good form all the way through, but Sinner just picked up his game about 2 levels and started gaining confidence and momentum. Great win for him!
beautiful to watch both of these guys...much more pleasing to the viewer than Alcaraz or even Novak. Gorgeous strokes. But Sinner has better odds over time with the one flaw of Medvedev.... Sinner stands right on the baseline, Medvedev is generally a few to several feet behind the baseline hitting the less penetrating looping balls. Sinner hits the flatter ball with the slightly better angles. Basically able to control the match much more than Daniil. What a future this guy has, unbelievable.
Well done, Sinner. He made a great comeback. I am feeling bad for Medvedev and at the same time, happy for Sinner. In sports, someone has to win and someone has to lose. Sinner will win many slams in the future.
What a phenomenal comeback! I honestly thought Medvedev would win after the first 2 sets, he was playing lights out tennis. Sinner is proving to he has the stamina to go the distance, the possibilities for him are endless.
Was hoping Sinner will take his first GS. But in the end I wished Medvedev won after witnessing how he fights even when he is out of fuel. Got to respect that.
Finally! I've always preferred Sinner over Alcaraz because of his composure, even though I think Alcaraz is more athletic. This outcome is exactly the evidence for Sinner's mental strength! I'm glad he's now a Grand Slam champion as well!
Never say die Sinner, massive come back AO winner. He could be heading to Europe with huge confidence and hunger to win on any surface now. Djokovic is already hinting at retirement soon. Awesome athlete much?
Well deserved! The difference in that match is stamina - Sinner had more in the tank at the end and played his game, which he can dominate the point. Congratulations 🎊 🎊
Not really Sinner was a solid favorite to begin the match and quickly became the favorite again after taking set 3. He did what was expected of him. You can't give him credit for putting himself in a hole and then doing his job. That's like if I give you credit for messing up my order but making up for it by cooking up a great meal.
I'd say Nadal's win over Medvedev was the biggest, considering his age, coming off an injury prone year and getting Covid the month before AO. That was almost 5 and a half hours of grueling tennis that should have favored the younger Medvedev. That was a match.
@@Golf05 Question is, is it Daniil level dropping at the deciding set? I didn't watch the match, but by this highlights it he seems to be pushing the ball in the last three sets whereas the first two he was hitting with authority and going for winners.
The first of many, I still can’t get over the level of Sinner’s game and mental fortitude now

I don't know if I'm the only one but the only time I watch Sabalenka play is when she's playing someone i want to watch (in this case, it was Coco). Other than that, I rarely watch her match because of her grunts.@@karenv8351
@@karenv8351 Yes, it's hard to sustain tension and suspense when the match is over in just over an hour.
@@randolphpinkle4482 Having 3 setters makes the difference in women's matches. Medvedev would have won had that been the case here.
What a comeback last three sets. The way he defeat novak and here against meddvedev, AO24 is a amazing race.
U deserves...future world no 1....sinner...kudos
Amazing!
Medvedev was gracious in defeat too
It's about time. First time I saw him play 2-3 years ago I knew he was a slam material
Wow, you win the longest comment I've ever bothered to read. Well said 🎉
Sinner beat all members of the Soviet Union.. impressive
@@mj2you22Thanks! I’m honored
Sinner's domination of men's tennis started from now. His rivalry with Carlitos will be epic rivalry in upcoming future.
Well done, Jannik Sinner. Coming back from two sets down to win the Australian Open in your first slam final is an incredible achievement.
Impressed on the stamina of both... medvedev was doing everything correct. He moved the ball side to side making his opponent "tired" . But basically - he was also getting tired and got tired faster thus giving up the winner in key moments. wow!
This is the first grand slam I followed live and I'm glad it's won by one of my fav next gen players
Great energy level from Sinner.
Jannik anticipation is extraordinarily. He initiates the volley and step up 1-3 times ahead of Medvedev. He didn’t won the AO24 with luck alone, he claimed it with class and honesty✌️🙏👍
He won is with luck. If medvedev wasn’t so exhausted he would’ve won in 3
Beating the unbeatable Djokovic and then coming back like this: utterly improbable and fantastic.
Great match between the 2 best players in men’s tennis over the past couple of months.
Sinner has the chance to win a calender slam this year. Mic drop level
Un magnifique champion. Bravo vraiment mérité.
Don’t ever give up no matter what the situation is nor who you’re playing against. What a great comeback! Wow! 😮
Back here after US OPEN 2024... and you cannot deny Sinner's power... whether he is guilty or NOT, only he knows!
beautiful to watch both of these guys...much more pleasing to the viewer than Alcaraz or even Novak.
Stop it hater, sinner is great and congrats but don't bring down alcaraz please!😊
so happy for Sinner! I hope to see him continue staying at the top! congrats! 5:50 exchange teared me up - incredible for both meddy and sinner.
Well done, Sinner. He made a great comeback. I am feeling bad for Medvedev and at the same time, happy for Sinner. In sports, someone has to win and someone has to lose. Sinner will win many slams in the future.
One of the most remarkable matches I have ever watched.
Wow what a match, well done JANNIK SINNER!!!🎉🎉🎉
Sinner is the definition of a humble BEAST.
What a phenomenal comeback! I honestly thought Medvedev would win after the first 2 sets, he was playing lights out tennis. Sinner is proving to he has the stamina to go the distance, the possibilities for him are endless.
What a brilliant come back 👏 So amazing Jannik 🦊🇮🇹🏆
Was hoping Sinner will take his first GS. But in the end I wished Medvedev won after witnessing how he fights even when he is out of fuel. Got to respect that.
Чудесная победа...👍🏻✌🏼
Finally! I've always preferred Sinner over Alcaraz because of his composure, even though I think Alcaraz is more athletic. This outcome is exactly the evidence for Sinner's mental strength! I'm glad he's now a Grand Slam champion as well!
Minute 4:05 terminator stance💪
AO finals are officially in Medvedev's noggin.
Two tough losses after leading two sets to nil.
Great resilience and shot making from Sinner.
This defeat was even worse than the final against Nadal in 2022
Congratulations Jannik!🎉 🎊 A fantastic job well done!.
20% talent...80% mental That's why tennis is the greatest individual sport in the world!
You could see the blank look of worry at the end of the 3rd set... He isnt a young gun anymore, and that Hurkacz match was very physical.
What a performance 👏
what a comeback by Jannik Sinner👏👏
Sinner might be the most clean hitter so satisfying to watch
Never say die Sinner, massive come back AO winner. He could be heading to Europe with huge confidence and hunger to win on any surface now. Djokovic is already hinting at retirement soon. Awesome athlete much?
What an amazing final! So proud of Sinner!!!!
Incredible composure and focus. Well deserved by Jannick. Bravo !
That final shot was epic! Well done carrot man! Congrats!!!
Che grande!!!! Rimontare una partita del genere è da vero campione! Grande SINNER! THE BEST!
Well deserved! The difference in that match is stamina - Sinner had more in the tank at the end and played his game, which he can dominate the point. Congratulations 🎊 🎊
Merecido primer grande y seguro habra muchos mas. Feliz por los italianos.. hace rato vienen sacando muy buenos players, buena escuela.
One of the greatest comeback matches in Tennis History
Not really
Sinner was a solid favorite to begin the match and quickly became the favorite again after taking set 3. He did what was expected of him. You can't give him credit for putting himself in a hole and then doing his job. That's like if I give you credit for messing up my order but making up for it by cooking up a great meal.
Dude, chill, it’s not the greatest.
@@RobbieStacks90You make zero sense.
Couldn't have asked for a better final! The spectators surely got their money's worth.
I am all choked up by Sinner's win!!!
