- The Conservatives stole two Labour policies to fund tax cuts in their budget. And now Labour has kicked off its local election campaign with some rather familiar-sounding promises.

It makes no sense if you don't buy into their ideology. They're committed neoliberals, the most destructive yet boring religion there has ever been.
We need a new opposition party to the conservatives because this is just the same old approaches, the exact opposite to what the British people want. We want public ownership, free tuitions in England, and a real investment in the working class and lower classes - not just policies targeted at the upper middle classes.
It’s a very short time we are on this planet and there will always be a war or economic crisis that is used as an excuse for not giving the people proper redistribution and equality!
Best bet is to try slash their majority as much as possible.
And an end to immigration!
We don't want free tuitions. It devalues degrees and encourages waste of resources. Not to mention, there would most certainly be a way/loop hole for non British people to get free tuition too. The WORKING class need more support, the people on minimum wage. The pretend working class tradies on 50k plus un-disclosed income, not so much. Middle class also need more help. You basically need to be rewarded for positively contributing to society instead of this dystopia we are in.
Public ownership of services - YES.
Free tuitions would most definitely make the job market more competitive for sure, but let’s not forget attending university is not simply for job preparation, but rather to be educated and indulge with matters of the mind. This should be a concomitant focus in the argument, as the freedom that derives from such inquires is such a thing of beauty that any egalitarian society should want bestowed on its citizens.
And the only dystopia I see is one dominated by the values of avarice and alienation, emanated from the majority of the upper middle classes. These have been the habitual attitudes and opinions of our political system, and have managed to thrive even through the emergence and transience of different political movements - it needs to stop.
I swear Starmer us trolling is with this constant impersonation of the Tories.

You can only level up by spending. There is no other way. Rail, road, infrastructure, power, industry all need restarting but it will take lots of money. So if there's no money tree there's no levelling up.
The Money markets demand a return. No amount of infrastructure investment will reverse the economic unpopularity created by Brexit.
People need better economic education to see the austerity non-sense Starmer is trying to pull. Government's have extraordinary power to raise money through taxes or borrowing. If something needs to be done, governments can and should make them happen. There essentially IS such a thing as a "Magic Money Tree".
There’s a magic money tree. But it only exists for the minority exploiting the majority. It doesn’t exist for improving lives of ordinary people.
And it’s not about money anyway. That’s a false argument by the elite. It’s about resources to build such things. If the resources are there, it can be done. And the resources are there. They’re just being used to benefit the minority.
Tax isn’t to raise money to do such things. It’s to change the purchasing power of the rich so the resources become available for the government to use.
The money tree is actually taxation. Instead of cutting taxes for the rich and allowing the rich to continue to do tax avoidance and tax evasion. Actually clamping down on tax dodging and making the tax burden fair, we will always be in economic decline.

I for one would gladly pay MORE tax for INVESTMENT in our public services and infrastructure. I do however also wonder if we are the most heavily taxed since the war EXACTLY where all the money is going? The NHS is on its knees, pot holes on ALL our roads, schools are underfunded, the justice system is a mess etc etc. we need a.change, me need better.
There’s zero need for the ordinary citizen to pay more tax. There’s 2 pools of money under an exploitative system such as capitalism. But they don’t want to take away from the ever growing pool belonging to the owner class. That gets removed from public discourse and it’s all focused on the shrinking pool the rest of us are competing for. That’s where the money is going, the owners’ pool.

The tories and reform want everything privatised and ran on the cheap which leads to deaths and high profits for shareholders hence what's happening to the water companies. They also want the nhs to fail so we then pay for it like America and its a concern if we follow there health system because the companies patient dump to maximise profits and they also create debt for the ones that cant afford treatment and do everything on the cheap.
I was thinking of the levels of responsibility and accountability requirements demanded from different levels of government.
